New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Metro: Last Light

Can anyone say what sort of performance I would get with a Radeon 5850? (It recommends a GeForce GTX 480 with no ATI recommendations.)
I may be stating the obvious (that's my forte) but:

http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

and specifically:

http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/metro-last-light/11635/?p=a

Also, comparing video cards is a bit random but from:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

I see:

Radeon HD 5850 has a score of 2,281

GeForce GTX 480 has a score of 4,357

So assuming you have a decent CPU, you should be able to run it but most likely not at high eye porn.

haven't played the whole thing, but i also downloaded a demo in the summer and liked it. ended up buying it a few days ago...4.24 for the whole thing isn't too bad
That's what I'm going off of. I've always liked the clay style of games like Skullmonkeys. It's attention to detail in games like this that I love. It's not some rushed product. It's taking forever to fully release because it's taking forever to make in such great detail.

I think I'll buy it. I bought it.

That's what really made me buy it, too

A cool, really unique art style I find appealing is something that will always draw me in to games

Ex) Okami became a must buy once i saw some screenshots...learning it was a zelda clone didn't hurt either

Not that obvious to me... I marked the page and downloaded their desktop app for future use. (app isn't that useful, you still end up on the website.)

The CPU is above their recommended but it sounds like its a game to save for another sale... (I should be upgraded the video card soon but likely early next year. Just not sure yet. Debating on trying to make it to the next line of NVIDIA cards.)

Edit: Do I replace M: LL with Castlevania: LOS UE or do I just stay pat...?

Well, I will say that what qualifies as a "professional" critic on Metacritic isn't necessarily something I'd put too much stock in one way or another.

I can agree with that.

i really don't get what's so silly about murderous roosters or ninja cats
dragons are a bit out there tho

Is the FC soundtrack that good?[/quote]I loved it.

From what I recall, the FC3 soundtrack comes in disappointingly low bitrate mp3s. I might be thinking of another game, but I don't think so.

Sorry for double posting, it's very awkward to post from my iPod.

Well, wouldn't a violent person instincts make them violent against other zombies?

Also, pretty sure the only thing deer have a violent instincts towards are cars...
Tell me you weren't trolling for this video...

Neither of these are Stupid questions... the second one especially.

Since the first was answered by MyNinjaSquirrel
This feels like a one sided relationship to me...

Okami is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. You might as well go blind after playing it, so little can even compare it will ruin other games for you

Found a How to Survive review on YouTube that makes the game sound pretty good aside from the poor story and acting. I would rather buy it with Steam dollars, so I might wait.

Oh shoot I forgot that ubi has a Canadian store and charges sales tax. Waiting til 75% off on a different site, but I want the game.

You have failed to convince me. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

With the How to Survive talk, I'd just like to remind everyone of the leaked list on the Legacy of Kain amazon bundle, which included it and several other 505 published games. There hasn't been any official confirmation to its legitimacy, but that list didn't exactly write itself...

I'd like to remind everyone that squirrels are tricksters.

Do you reaaaally love Civ 5?  Personally I got bored after I mastered the AI and was able to consistently beat the game on the second hardest difficulty.

all dis and u cnt do math
operashun n0t werkin, Algernon.

Damn game only lasted me 6000 hours

what a jip

More like 150. I'm not saying it's a bad game but after buying it in the 'gold' edition I can't say I'm interested enough in buying the other DLC/expansion/whatever. Fundamentally it's still the same game just with a few new tweaks. I'd rather throw that money towards Warlock 2 -- I know, preordering Paradox games can be hazardous to your health.

Wasn't AVGN already 55% off earlier today? Or am I going crazy? Or maybe it was only 50% off so they threw another 5% on there.

EDIT: Nope. It was definitely 55% off already. I'm thinking it's supposed to be discounted more but they goofed.

EDIT #2: There we go. 66% off, $5.09. With that said, and backlog in mind, I'll hold out till 75% off during the next sale hopefully.

Hm.. I'm tempted to get TDU2

Warning: This title uses 3rd party DRM (SecuROM)

I've not tried it myself but dearly loved TDU for the 360... But from what I've heard TDU2 is leagues behind it.

That all said I've been tempted too...

^ that

Luckily, I bought NFSMW and I'm loving it. Else, I will be thinking about TDU2 too

Ok, someone tell me if I should buy How to Survive from Uplay. Whoever convinces me to buy or not to buy will get the next Grid 2 Steam key I win from facebook (IF I win one).

WTF spoder?!?!? Wait until I go to bed to throw out this challenge?!?!?

You should buy it because...
video games

Debating on picking up the Tomb Raider Collection before the sale is over. Seems like a pretty good deal, but I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on it.

Probably the most underwhelming major sale in Steam history~
Now that we've seen all Steam has to offer in the Autumn Sale, I think it's time to discuss....

+ Removed infuriating community vote, which inevitably resulted in some recently bundled or previously more heavily discounted game being chosen.

+ Not quite as many repeats (could be because of the above omission).

+ Not quite as many retreads from previous sales.

+ Many games at or below their previously lowest prices.

- No fun "event" tied into the sale (could be a +, depending upon your stance)

- Some repeats (seriously... why have any?)

- Magicka

- Every game in my wishlist wasn't 75% off.

- Some truly terrible games spotlighted.

- Fewer "extra" discounts due to the removal of community vote

I don't think there were any repeats between the flash and daily deals. It's also important to remember that this isn't replacing the Christmas sale - that's still coming in two weeks time.

You're a strange sombrero wearing, corona drinking rock thing man, mooby.

This sale sucked. I didn't get to buy any of the newly-released AAA games on my wishlist for $5 or less, not a single one. Get with the program, Valve!!!

On a more serious note, Humble has managed this year to make me feel like if I pay more than $7.50 in Steambucks or $2.50 in real money for anything I'm not getting a good deal. And the international resellers have ensured that I'm likely to purchase very little from the store directly.

I am a little concerned by the fact that about 10 games in my wishlist had no discount at all. I remember years where everything except the just released games had at least 10% off. Most of my wishlist is games that came out much earlier this year or last year.

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't hate the crap out of this sale

Got:

-Call of Chtuhlu

-Antichamber

-Monaco

-Puzzle Dimension

-The Wolf Among Us

-The Dream Macine

-Toki Tori

Thanks, now that you've bought it Amazon can have a 75% off sale on it! I'll alert Tony.
I'll probably cop Antichamber and Monaco for $1 via next Humble Bundle.

Occasionally I don't mind being the one who offers sacrifice to the Sales Gods; if it prevents droughts and famines of the purchasing nature, I will lie down my wallet for the good of the people
