Yea, I def agree. I would honestly prefer to suffer like G did and just get a port of the original TOTD on steam. Still cool that they did it though.

Btw, thank you Vince, I now own a bunch of new DLC for CKII. But I now I have to buy the rest; can't have an incomplete set... so, uh, thanks for that :p

Vince you're such an asshole for sharing stuff which makes people buy stuff

Well crap, there're 666 other CAG groups on Steam, so now there's one for Pinball. It's not set to public to keep the phishers, etc. out, so I'll try to scan this thread for people posting their IDs and invite, and if anyone wants to be an officer or take over as owner to manage membership, be my guest.

finally puddle will be mine, been on my wishlist since it came out.

I'd like to nominate Bully if we are talking Rockstar games. It's still easily my favorite out of their games that I've played and not nearly as serious as most of there stuff either. I mean, how many games do you have to escort a fat kid to the bathroom so he doesn't pee himself?

And yes, I realize I'm incredibly immature. Time to egg the principal
not nearly enough, not nearly enough

and for post 1000, here is CK2 and it's 1000 DLCs

Yeah, I'm pretty sure some dickheads have scripts set up to grab them, because they go absurdly quick. I wish there was a modbot equivalent on CAG.

If you PM me the answer to this problem! Should be easy for you gentlemen (?).

Calculate the minimum cost per lb. of a blend of alloy that consists of 40% tin, 35% zinc, and 25% lead from the alloys available in the table below.

Edit:  Somebody PM'd me the correct answer.

That was exactly what I expected it to be.

Probably helps that I spent all of yesterday beating A Link Between Worlds.
Hey bud, how was it? Every Zelda game that comes out on handheld gets rave reviews, but I always find them to be way too short. Is this one any different?

PM'ed. I'm curious if I'm close to right. I suck at things like this.

Edit: I'm bad at math. Especially when I work it out in my head or on a potato.

Link Between Worlds is probably in my top 3 games I played this year. I may be an anomaly, but I honestly haven't enjoyed a Zelda game since it went 3D. I played Ocarina of Time when it came out, Twilight Princess many years later, and a couple DS games... but man, I just could not get into the slower pacing and hand holding that has become a series trademark.

LBW does away with all of that. It brings back the classic gameplay (and music) of Link to the Past but adds many mechanics that ensures it will not merely be a throwback game hoping to cash in on gamer nostalgia:

1) I love the item rental system and I hope this becomes the norm in future Zelda games. Basically, after the first hour, you will be able to "rent" pretty much ANY item (sans one) from the very start for a nominal fee. You can also purchase the items to own for about 5x the cost or so (I can't quite remember). You will lose any rented items when you die, which gives a risk/reward aspect of exploring dangerous territory that I don't ever remember having in a previous Zelda game. You'll eventually want to own every item though, as you can only "upgrade" an item you actually purchased, so rupees and treasure rooms have even more value now.

2) There's very little hand holding or tutorials, and you can pretty much tackle any dungeon whenever you want as long as you rent/purchase an item. You still want to explore a lot as you can find treasure rooms (with clever puzzles that make use of a mechanic or item for large payouts, like a more kid-friendly Tomb Raider treasure vault), and each dungeon still has an item for you to find (such as master ores, better armor and shield, etc). However, most items are cleverly hidden, and you can miss some if you don't explore the dungeon fully, unlike in the past.

3) I don't particularly go out of my way to find heart pieces or use walkthroughs, but I loved being able to place markers on the map with stylus if I found suspicious cracked walls before I bought bombs, or a large rock to pick up before I found Titan's mitts. I ended up finding all heart pieces (except for two) without much backtracking, thanks to the map pins (which I think debuted in Phantom Hourglass). There is a new type of collectible which is all over the place (I think for a total of 100) which I somehow found ALL of, thanks to a clever feature which tells how many of the item remains in a certain location. You can "hear" the chirp of the collectible whenever one is nearby, so you never have to blindly guess ... for the most part.

4) Other than Super Mario 3D Land, LBW is the first game that I absolutely loved playing in 3D. The topdown perspective lends plenty of utility for the faux depth perception, as you can see Link flying out of the screen. It also makes certain dungeons and treasure rooms easier when they depend on depth.

5) Speaking of dungeons, I do wish there were more of them, but I absolutely enjoyed every single one. Some dungeons had puzzles that spanned 8+ floors, some dungeons required you to make use of multiple items simultaneously, and there are some clever throwbacks to previous Zelda games that I did not expect (which I'd rather not spoil), and these in turn provided some unique innovation in gameplay mechanics and strategies.

I could probably go on and on, but Link Between Worlds is an absolute delight. Now if you'll excuse me... (before I get banned for gushing on a 3DS game in a Steam thread...)

Its length is perfectly comparable to A Link to the Past on SNES, since the game takes place in the same Hyrule "several generations" later. ALttP has always been my favorite Zelda game, and that being the case, this one was an absolute joy. The story was excellent and the new mechanic was a lot of fun and made for great puzzles. The only unusual thing was that you were given access to all of the various weapons very early on, but this made the game refreshingly non-linear for the most part. This also meant that I missed the trigger for a game-wide collection quest until well after I should have started it, but going back to find the things after the fact wasn't annoying at all. All weapons, including bombs, draw from your magic bar, which also took getting used to, but in the end, it worked. The game is probably in my top three Zelda titles along with ALttP and Majora's Mask.

Also PM'd, though pausing to answer the Zelda question means I lost time. Oh well.

WTH!?! Math!?! We have to learn math now? Listen, I'm all for a better way to drop codes and all, but,.....not like this. Not like this...

Konami has let its license for SkullGirls lapse, so it's slated to be removed from PSN and XBL. Since the Steam release is self-published, it should be unaffected. Interesting nonetheless. http://www.vg247.com/2013/12/07/skullgirls-takedown-request-on-psn-xbla-issued-by-konami/
Yeah, this is also why the console versions no longer get patched, and the DLC has been exclusive to Steam thus far. Nothing will happen to the Steam version.

Sucks for me, I bought the PSN version on release.. but at least I got a Steam copy at 90% off, which was basically free after selling SkullGirls cards.

Just curious, was this discount from owning on psn, or was there a sale I missed?
It was a coupon from crafting badges. I traded someone a few cards for it. The coupon was disabled by the dev (or the crafting for the coupon was disabled) on the same day after receiving a lot of backlash.

I thought I heard something about Skullgirls getting republished under a different publisher for consoles since Konami let it lapse. It was just a question of whether the newly published version would be certified and put out before the end of the year, or if it would have to be put out sometime in the new year,

Quick question, GF has GTA IV: Complete Edition for $6 including the 20% off code. Will it be cheaper during the Winter sale for Steam? I already own the GTA III Trilogy.

We rarely know the deals prior to when they happen. But in this case, since GTA IV sucks anyway (my opinion is fact btw) you could probably wait on it and maybe pick it up for the same price or less from amazon or Greenman eventually. No promises, though.

No one knows, of course, but GTA:IV is always on sale. If Steam doesn't have it cheaper, you can almost bet Amazon will. $6 is pretty cheap though... I think Amazon had it for $7 back in the summer.

Yeah, I saw them talking about it on eventhubs.

7 minutes, da fuck?!? Do you keep MatLab running in the background while browsing CAG?
Nah, I was still playing with it for a good 30 minutes or so. I gotta say, This math stuff is pretty entertaining, even though I feel like a moron with the simplest of problems. Too bad I was so damn lazy in high school, or I might have taken a real shine to it given half a chance.

The Rockstar sales ends on the 10th. I'm pretty conflicted here. :/

Then get it. Chances are it will never be less than $5, if it ever even hits that anytime soon. If you're planning on playing it now, you should just get it. I may not enjoy the game, but the content for the price is phenomenal.

Yeah, I gave it a try (well several) and although I apparently came really close, I couldn't figure it out. Math's hard >,<

So how about a riddle for A Virus Named Tom:

Fifteen people are trapped aboard a ship that's going to sink in exactly 20 minutes. Their only chance for survival is the five-person life raft stowed on their vessel. To make matters worse, the waters around the ship are teeming with man-eating sharks, so swimming to safety is out of the question.
A round-trip to the nearest island and back to the boat takes nine minutes on the raft. How many people will live to see dry land?

Send me a PM if you've got the answer!

Reversion The Meeting 2nd Chapter - (Desura)
Dr Bulbaceous : Puzzle Solver (Desura)

Be careful when buying it, when you select one of the "donate" options, it'll add a donation fee on top of the $1 minimum payment. Don't click on any of the donation options if you want to only pay $1. Also, Dr Bulbaceous keys don't currently work, they show up as "expired".

Their site looks like a poorly-constructed scam.

Dear Steam Deals Thread,

I'm upgrading the video card on my brother's computer. The old one is ATI and the new one is Nvidia. Is it enough to just uninstall the ATI drivers from the control panel or is there more to it? I used to know this stuff but after a long time in console-land, I just plum forgot. Better to ask someone who knows instead of Jeeves or AltaVista.

Curiously yours,

"Nothing Out Of Bundles"
