Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I didn't say "this never happened to me, so clearly it's a false fear". I asked for examples of it actually happening in regular use cases and you guys came through. I still won't let it prevent me from buying a game, especially for $5, but that's me.

I was really hoping for more reactions to SMOKE BOMB, but I hit the thread during a down time.
Maybe I can dissuade you by saying that I love driving games and Spyker, but couldn't get into TDU2. It seems super buggy and across the three systems I have tried it on, I have yet to get it to run without either video or audio glitches. TD Ferrari is a better buy. Its more challenging and oddly has more variety in driving experiences than TDU2. Or...save your $5 and put it towards Assetto Corsa.

is it bad that i want ec credit and cards game inclduing but not limited r.i.p.d the game and takedown sabre they have cardS
Having bought RIPD off amazon for EC credit and cards, I can highly recommend not buying RIPD.

I even sold my cards off for $2, making it only cost a dollar, and I still regret it. That game blows. The shooting sucks, the levels are dull, the gameplay is the same horde mode that has been done better by multiple games, and it's only 2 player co-op.

The menus were nice though.

You can get the whole Desperados collection for $5.50.

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive (GMG) - $1

Desperados 2 - Coopers Revenge (GMG) - $2

Helldorado (ShinyLoot) - $2.50
Ah, thanks. Got the original Desperados from SantaBooba, liked it enough that I wouldn't mind grabbing Cooper. edit: GMG Voucher = GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49

Well, sure, but are any of them other than the first one worth having? I seem to have read nothing but bad things about the sequels, especially the third one.

I have no idea what Spyker is, but the TDU series wasn't really intended to be a pure driving/racing experience. TDU is more like if Test Drive and The Sims had a weird baby that lived in Spain. If you're buying it just for the racing, then, yes, you're buying the wrong game. However, it is a fun game to dig into. Also I think you can still pony up ~$8 for the casino expansion, which adds some value, but I haven't done this personally, mostly because I bought both non-Steam and Steam versions of the base game and couldn't talk myself into giving Atari more money. The other DLCs are a bit pointless because they're all cars that you don't actually "get" by purchasing the DLC--you unlock them for purchase using exorbitant amounts of in-game cash.

The reviews are mixed, most complaints were about how hard the third game is or the AI in the second game. Maybe someone who has played them like to chime in on their thoughts?

PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate and Shooter Bundle is also going for $3.60 now at GMG. Use voucher: GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49.

* PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate was in the last Indie Royale's 'Nutcracker Bundle.

I would have bought Deadly Premonition if it had won. Maybe it'll go on a flash sale anyway so I'll be on the lookout.

Completely unrelated but if you loved 80's movies or even just Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon you'll love this!

The movie has a kickstarter page. Stop buying games. Go fund the movie. Now. Drop Dead Fred commands it.

Why would I pay for that when this is already available for free:

Also, watch it through around minute 19 (starts at around 14) or you'll miss the most epic fight scene ever.

Cheapy is still being a Grinch, I'm out of my daily ration of happiness (likes). So apologies in advance.

TDU2 isn't the best video-optimized, and I can't run AA as a result... but it's unique experience and something for everyone. If nothing else two huge maps (Ibza & Hawaii) that you can literally drive anywhere one. It definitely feels like a it was originally supposed to be a racing MMO.

I agree TDFRL (Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends) is underrated, esp now at $4. I really like the classic cars and courses in it.

Nod, I'm assuming it's a reference to the car-maker. Actually I bought it just for the racing and I love it. (I like hardcore-sim to whee-arcade.) With assists off it's nice simcade action. But the maps... ooh the maps.

Thanks for Assetto Corsa!
^_^ You're welcome!

Steam Marines won the vote

I'm amused how CAG's time is off so it looks like I pre-announced the vote results... I mean of course I didn't break NDA and announce the pre-determined vote-results early. ...please don't sue me.

Has anyone tried Steam Marines?

I'm hesitant because of the beta status and its self-described "brutal" difficulty. It looks cool though, and I like that it was influenced by Space Hulk/XCOM.

$2.50 is certainly the right price to give something a shot if it has a few good recommendations.

Steam Marines looks kinda neat but I've forbidden myself from buying any more rogue-likes for awhile as I have so many that I feel like I'm making zero progress in half of the games that I play...cause well I'm not making any progress. :joystick:

Figures Don't Starve glitches when I already have it :/

Picked up the OST for 39 cents at least.

Edit: Bought a full copy to shove in my inventory.

Purchase button is greyed out for me. Damn.
Greyed out for me when I tried to buy the 2-pack as it said I already owned the game. Still letting me buy the single game as a gift just fine.

Picked up don't starves soundtrack. I'd grab a copy of the game but don't have anyone I could gift it to. Still a crazy good deal.
