Toshibia dropped them themselves, then when ppl have "sales" on them, they seem a lot lower

on a side note though, I find it funny that this HD DVD bundle, includes 300 a WB movie
 
It's worth it as an upconverting player now. 2 decent movies, 5 free ones(I think still) even though they suck. And it'll do a damn good job of upconverting your standard DVD's, assuming you aren't buying a BD/PS3 yet. You buy this, you maybe buy transformers or a few other faves on HD-DVD. Just don't think of it as a long term hi-def player, and it'll easily carry you a year or two as an upconvert player until Blu Rays hit that magical 100 dollar mark.
