Nothing there really.
Blandstalker, would you know the current % on Dance/Electronic @ the Laguna Hills Tower? Thanks
Dance/Electronica is currently 40% off at all Towers.

just a quick update...today is the last day for that 5% off coupon..meh

Wednesday (11/15) Update:

Everything (including video games & accessories) are now 40% off at Tower with the following exceptions:

Magazines: 75% off
CD Singles: 60% off
UMD Movies: 40% + an additional 30% off

Happy shopping! And for those of you who bought an HD-DVD player from the Circuit City deal, the movies are finally competitively priced at Tower. Additionally, my store had copies of the Nintendo Edition Monopoly... kind of cool.

confirmed

they still have a shit load of magazines

seems "new" toys are coming in from the wearhouse! Example, star trek:TNG Figures, Spawn stuff and one banged up Darth Vader display that tagged for 100 bucks.. i was so tempted..but nah.

Anyways picked up, Thundercats Season 2, part 1 (cheaper then best buy), B&BH V2 and V3, Rat Race OST (it was just sitting there saying, pick me pick me!).

They will be opened thanksgiving day at 11am til 7pm... no mention on black friday deals for tower. I expect 40% to stay another week after this or 3 weeks.

According to the employees, computers database is now off line so they have NO IDEA what's instock. fuckers.

Confirmed at the Laguna Hills Tower, though UMDs are only 40% off. There was a special making them 60% off last week, so I don't know who they think is going to buy them now, but whatever.

DVDs have been pillaged; some good things left, but an awful lot has already been taken. Still a very good stock of CDs.

Found L'Arc en Ciel yesterday, a very nice surprise.

So... when's the next drop coming? There are some DDS 2's that I want to get, but as of now they're the same price as at EB ($30). Will there be another drop within the next week or so? Or any special Black Friday deals?

Went to the one monday (chicago, dt).
Shitloads of DVD/CDs left. Magazine are almost cleaned out though.

It's not a surprise Tower is closing, everything is overpriced.

you dont happen to be in southern california do you?

Sorry for not reading a really long thread... Does anyone know how what the duration of this is, and are the discounts increasing as time goes on?

the longer you wait the more that you want will be gone!
i checked out the one near lincoln center at 66th street in nyc and most of the games and systems are all gone. the only type of games left are either sports or internet connection for xbox live.

btw, theres still a huge selection of adult videos in that store. they should hve a special on that stuff, but it's not hardcore just softcore stuff. most of the good things are gone or near gone. there's also a small amount of accessories for sale, such as cd wallets and stuff.

still stuck at 40%, so I guess 50% next week. a hand written sign says mid to late december final store closing.

Things are flying fast but some new stuff is coming in. Guess this sale is bringing in a lot of hot chicks in the process :)

Can anyone confirm that store employees CAN'T look up inventory as there database is down?

Kinda stupid if you ask me, but then how is there systems actively dropping the percentages off correctly each week and how are they tracking the new wearhouse stuff coming in?

Our inventory isn't down, but it's pretty unreliable at this point. The only things still tracked are the items we had before we found out we were being closed. And even that stuff is coming up missing, etc.

The new warehouse stuff ISN'T being tracked. It's received, but it doesn't show that way in the computer. It's just sold.

I went by the King of Prussia, PA store yesterday and the sign said 50-90% off everything with the store closing in 5 days!

Some stores are closing earlier than others.

Damn, they told us later in December.... I hope it's not five days... I haven't said goodbye yet.

Dallow i'm guessing you work at the tower recored in dallas ? Also seeing from your comment that it will close some time in Dec right ? Or in the next 5 days o_O ?

as of yesterday 11/29/06

Excellent news on the 70% off sign.. I can see myself going to town on this sale if that happens. Thanks!

I confirmed this yesterday but didn't post cause I'm in the midst of law school exams. The only addition I would make is that Rap CDs were 70% off. I'm disappointed that movies haven't gone down more. I'm waiting to pick up some more HD-DVDs when they get really cheap.

My local Tower (Laguna Hills CA) had:

All CDs 50% off. Some CDs that they had tons of had slightly higher discounts.

Magazines 85% off.

Everything else 40% off, including DVDs and videogames.

A couple sections of the store are now closed off, and the inventory from those parts has been consolidated, so they are moving stuff quickly. Still plenty of good CDs.

Only videogame of interest was Digital Devil Saga 2. I passed.

video games should be at 50%, but nothing but crap. Some fuckers took all the Ace Combat Zeros when they were 10% off 39.99!

fuckERS
How bout anime?
40% off. Some interesting things too -- I picked up Filmation's 1970's version of Flash Gordon -- still damn good 30 years later.

Last time I went was...Tuesday. They were having a sale that Monday/Tuesday at my Tower Records (west covina). CDs were 60% off for rock/pop and 70% off for hip hop/rap. Cleaned out, well what I would want to get anyways.
no more dvds at the west covina one?
they're still at 40% off I believe. there's still a lot of dvds left.

DVDs 40% off and most CDs 50% off at Maxella Ave. store in Los Angeles. Pretty well picked through, though. Only got a few things.

50% CD'S.....40% dvd's.....40% toys but its mostly stuff no one wants
at the fairfax, va store. I over heard the otherday that the Tyson's corner (route 7) is cleaned out already.

UPDATE: 12/5/06

DVD's are now 50% off (about time) but not really much *worth* getting.

Toys are now 50% off, again nothing really worth getting.
as if porn isnt already gone lol, especially all the hentai
at the fairfax, va store there is about 20 some dvd's left from the 500 or so disc they had.. looks like a lot of people bought porn at 10% off lol. It was just kinda wierd seeing a chick in the male porn section looking at the dvds.

A couple days ago we went, and the guy working there said they would close on the 15th. Then he said, "well maybe sooner, or maybe later, I don't know." We're going to go back on the 14th probably. Mostly just DVDs and CDs left.

A sign was posted today.........really throws everyone off into coming into the store. "Cd's $2.00!" until you walk in and find only a few sections are 2 dollars cd's :( Soundtracks still 60% off.

Picked up another shelf though :)

Rockville, MD Tower has $7.99 for all HD-DVDs and Blu-Ray. I picked up The Terminator, Hitch, Species, Rumor Has It, Underworld Evolution, and The Punisher and Blu-Ray, and The Atl on HD-DVD. That's every movie they had, allthough I got the last Rumor Has It and Terminator.
When are cds going to be hitting the 70-80% mark?
most likely next week.. I say Tuesday/Wednesday. At this point cd's are below other store average prices (13.99-15.99) so basically your getting cd's at 9.99 or so .

There isn't really much of anything to buy, except toys and other stuff.

Ours (Brea, CA) is 70% off UMD, 60% off CD's, 50% DVD's and games (only 4 games left, including NFL Head Coach XB), and red tag CD's $1.00.

I picked up two Ring Of Honor DVD's for $5 each, Bayside's acoustic and self-titled CD's for a buck each, and Park's latest CD "Building A Better ______" for a buck.

Kinda bummed I waited a week - they had a bunch of TNA and ROH DVD's that would have been around $6 and change.

I went to the one in lakewood, ca
Got two copies of Tokopop Warcraft Novel Volume 1 and 2 at $3 each
and
17 Poster for $1 each.
