Toys-R-Us accepting Halo 3 Xbox 360 Console $188.50 Trade-in

hmm, that is interesting. I already have a 120 GB HD so I could trade in my halo 360 console and get a new one with a full warranty and cooler running internals.

Whoa. That's actually $3 more than I paid for the one I bought from Hot Topic a year ago. This is rather tempting...

Hot Topic sells 360s now?
Hot Topic sells 360s now?
They clearanced them out last year for $200, and then there was a $40 off coupon...
Can you trade it in the store?
Keep in mind that you're getting a gift card worth that value.
No, only complete games can be traded in store.

what all do you have to have to trade this in?

this sounds REALLY bad...but i have a Halo 3 console that got E74 error. its still under warranty, but im too lazy to ship it in, since i have a jasper unit now.

but maybe i can towel trick that bitch and get $80+ gc credit, hmmmmm :)
Halo 3 360 must be rare to find now. In few year it'll be collector's item ;)
Thats why i have one! And i also have the RE5 limited edition red elite 360 and will be getting the MW2 LE console tomorrow! :bouncy:

They often sell odd stuff like that they feel is very popular with the teenage crowd they target. They've also sold games, like the Guitar Hero series.

hmmm, if this works, I think I'll trade mine in and get an elite.

What does it need to have? although with MW2 out tomorrow seems kinda dumb to give up your 360

LOL at calendar on the wall.

Also why the component connection? (rhetorical)

Thirdly, (and on topic) the only way to make the Halo 3 console a collectors item is to destroy all the other ones. Maybe collector's item in 20 years..... maybe

will they be reselling these? im going to pick one up with the money Ive decided NOT to spend on CODMW2 prestige edition if so.

Just realize if it's rejected you pay the shipping to have it returned. I can see them rejecting this easily since there's not really a relevant description on what they consider complete.

I sent a question to their help center, will see what they say. Would love to dump my extra Halo 3 console and pick up a new elite or MW2 console...

be sure to let us know what they say. i'd love to trade in my HALO 360 for teh MW2 360...but i'd like to keep my HD becuase i have an arcade which needs tending :p

Nice Lost Oddessy drawing on the wall, but why all the 360's instead of one and a better tv?

This deal is good but like mentioned online trade-ins are very YMMV in terms of acceptance.

Here is the reply I got from the help center:

Thank you for contacting Toys "R" Us Trade-in Center regarding the Xbox 360 System Console Halo 3 Special Edition.

Yes. Yes it is!

Not a bad deal, but I don't regret trading mine to someone on CAG earlier this week.

I hope thats a chicks room if not its pretty disturbing for a grown man to have a bunch girl dolls.

I managed to do the trade in when it was at 188.50, but the shipping label says "first class, 7 oz". Do you think the post office will take it? Should I try calling TRU and getting a corrected shipping label (I'm worried they will just say, we're sorry but that was an error, please resubmit a request for less money).

Toys"R"Us will buy an incomplete "Microsoft Xbox 360 System Console Halo 3 Special Edition - Incomplete" from you for $72.50. The system must include a functioning game console.

price dropped =/

Haha, no. They might miss something being off in weight since they probably won't weigh everything, but you'd have to get really lucky for them to overlook an obviously huge and heavy package being shipped first class.

I think you're just going to have to either forget it or take the $145.

So he has 8 or 10 XBox 360s, yet he's using cardboard boxes to display his figurines. Classy!

I'll just cross it out the oz and change it to pounds... i'm sure no one would notice :)
A few months ago, Wal-Mart had a bunch of those for $150.
never mind the games, what about the f--king dolls?!?!?!?

I had no reason to. If I was visiting Wasilla, and they had some, and if
I knew that the Anchorage TRU would give me 190 $'s for them, I'd
get a few.

In case you didn't figure it out, it was at the Wasilla, Alaska Wal-Mart.
I think that it was back in late August when I saw them there.

If anyone uses my tip to go snag some, can you tell me
so? It doesn't matter either way, I'd just like to know that I helped someone
out. Of course, they would be making money, and I wouldn't.

They were near the video game section, on one of those island shelf
thingies.

All that crap in the room and not a better TV. Where are people's priorities?
