Immense gratitude to Shrike4242 for updating this thing while I was away!!!

This is an odd one.....

Basically the gist is that Toys R Us is reducing its inventory by 20% by marking down over 6,000 skns from it's inventory, most of which are toys. There are however roughly 300 or so video games/accesories that will be a part of this clearance. As of 7/11 all have been marked down from 30-50%. TRU is seeking to aggressively move these skns out of its stores. So if these games have not sold in roughly a months time they will be marked down again...a month later, again.....and so on until it's gone. So if you're the gamblin' type I suppose you could hold out for cheaper prices. Prices seem to be good everywhere, though there may be some variance in prices between stores.

Everything that is a part of this sale is on a 3 week cycle, meaning that every three weeks any items remaining in the stores will receive another price drop. Seeing as how these prices went into effect on the 11th of July we should be seeing them all drop again on the 1st of August.

The only caveat here being that retail is an odd beast that can be subject to change. So basically there is another price drop coming that in all likelihood will happen on the 1st so check back on the than to see what's up.

I might not even bother, since the only local TRU I have isn't worth checking out most of the time, unless I go to Clearwater (which is even worse) or Tampa (and they closed down the closest one to me).
 
I have one within walking distance so it's good to know. Problem is going to be that they'll start looking at me funny when I show up 4 or 5 times a week just to ask for prices. Obviously I'll wait till I start seing people post that they have seen prices drop before I go. Too bad that Trauma Center is not part of the clearance. That particular TRU has 1 of them.

unless most of the games are 50% off i probally pass. the only game i must have is the Castle double pack.


I could of got Midway Arcade Treasures used for 10 bucks this week so even if it falls to 20 its not that great of a deal

Alright, another sale. My credit cards are loving me. Anyways hopefully these markdowns will be 50% to make it worth the 30 minute drive to TRU.
 
Well, I'm dissapointed by the DS selection (Meteos, which I already have, and Snowboard Kids, which has been rated mediocre at best, are the only ones that interest me). Other than that, this could do as much damage to my wallet as the CC sale. Psychonauts? Castlevania Double Pack? Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones? Destroy All Humans? HOT DAMN.
They're even marking down a subscription to Live? Wow.
Heck, if they mark it down far enough, I'll probably even pick up that Sonic Mega Collection/DX double pack.

I'm gonna go try to snag a copy of Drill Dozer on Wednesday, so I'll check the TRU right nearby the BB, see if its started.
Actually, is there any indication exactly WHEN this is starting?

agreed about the cv 2pack being a good deal.
And the psp games could be decent pickups as well but most of those games dont look like they are worth $20 imo

Hrm...some promising titles on there (like Hulk for GC :drool:), but 30% off a $39.99 game is still only like $27.99, while 50% off is $20. Not sure that's cheap enough for me, especially after the financial carnage lingering from the CC sale.

Yes this is the life of the jaded CAG...I'll take a look at this stuff if and when it hits $10. After the Circuit City, Gamerush, and K-Mart bonanza, how can you get excited over 30% off?

Great game and you can't beat eight player single cart multiplayer. The voices are awful, but other then that, it's a great pick up.

My wife and I have fun playing the 2-player mode. I get my ass kicked halfway through single player mode. I think it's a fun game. Might not see it at any TRU stores since I'm pretty sure they were selling it for $10-15 back around Christmas and I doubt if they restocked it.

It's already begun, but the reductions are staggered. Who knows what day which item wll be reduced.... And Metal Gear Solid 3 is already down to $14.95, don't know if it's gonna get much cheaper than that.
 
This saturday if I don't work I'll be out over at 2 different TRUs to check out what's on sale... I'll see if I can ring up other items that don't show up on the list, but have been released around the same time.
 
Hopefully Taiko drops to a good price. I've always wanted it but never had the $ when it was on sale at other places and my store has 3 copies.
 
This would explain why my TRU was lit up like a christmas tree with markdown signs. they didnt have much left though. BTW, what does YMMV stand for?
