Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

Here are the latest drops-- special thanks to Prim4444! http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7341511&postcount=245

Well that sucks. I tried to download the free bonus toys r us map today for Chronicles of Riddick game that I got yesterday for $10.68, but looks like it has expired already and no longer available. Oh well at least it is a decent game for what I payed for it.
It was in an email for TRU Rewards members. A one time use coupon for $10 off any purchase on Saturday only.
argh those bastards didn't send me a coupon!

That's weird mine was only for $3.00. I wonder if it depends on how long u been a reward card member.

I got a 20% off coupon for Saturday (I just looked now to see if I missed getting a $10 coupon). Weird how not only are the amounts different but the type of coupon is different too. It had a 1 time use code on it

That's weird, I just assumed everyone got the $10 off coupon. Didn't know TRU was giving different coupons to different members.

Most of the clearance items they had were unmarked, no one in the area to scan them, and I didn't see a maul scanner in the store. Dissapointing

Disappointing? That's the absolute BEST kind of clearance store!

Oh, I'm getting TRU emails too and I'm a Rewards member as well. I've been deleting them because it seems that I get one email once a day about some perpetual sale that never ends.

I'm definitely paying more attention to the emails in future. I missed this one...

Yeah, I got a $3 coupon. Used it to buy 8 bottles of glue for my daughter's back-to-school list. Free out-the-door.

This is slightly off-topic, but I think most people will want to hear about it.

A few weeks ago I dropped by the TRU I used to work at and chatted with the R-Zone supervisor. He was pretty upset at corporate and began going off about how they’re getting ready to alter how the store displays games. Instead of their current Best Buy-esque system with the games on the floor in EAS cases, they’re switching to a Walmart-like system with the entire perimeter of the section being lined with glass cases. They’re also opening the area up some by completely removing one wall to make the main R-Zone entrance more welcoming and adding a second entrance through the boys’ section.

He didn’t say if this change is going into effect for every TRU, but my suspicion is that it will. I can’t imagine corporate making such a dramatic change in one store without making it in all the stores. From my time working there, I can attest to how anal they about all their stores being alike.

Whether this affects how they do clearance, I don’t know. It’ll give them more room to store games, but I can’t see them sitting on mountains of shovelware for years at a time. TRU has been really great with clearance in the past, so hopefully they’ll continue to throw us good deals.

If they go this route and actually maintain the dissplay cases this will be nice or it will become a mess like Kmart ...
I dont know about your store but the current setup with those bulky security cases they have on the games just is a mess... they hardly have any games on the floor and the ones out there are never in order of any kind...

I would like to see TRU make a rebound because they seem to have tanked quite a bit in the last 2 years or so.. I would like to see the store re capture that excitement that used to over come us as kids just thinking about going there... My daughter likes to go but it doesnt seem like she gets as excited about it as I did as a kid..

My stores already have the cases along the perimeter. I think is in part to being in NJ where corporate is. Changes happen much faster here.

My local store also does this, they opened last year. They have all the lower priced clearance games out and other cheaper games not locked in the case. It is very organized unlike Walmart and KMart
Why is Sith Edition rare? Is there a special DLC?
I wouldn't know if its rare or not, I'm assuming it received a limited print. I bought the ps3 version at K-Mart for $20 a few months ago not knowing it was a sought after game. As far as special dlc goes, the Hoth dlc was supposed to be exclusive to this release but its been released both on PSN and Xbox Live.

Wow, really? My local store has been like that for years. I'm guessing like 5 or 6 years. And actually they've opened it up even more after they went that route, with no real walls in R-Zone, except for the shelf that borders the checkout lanes and an aisle that sort of acts as a wall, but you can walk on either side of it. The only games we have on the floor are the $19.99 and under and even then usually not the M rated ones. Also, the $19.99 games have to be EAS tagged.

You must not have opened it then. Each Sith Edition comes with 1 of 10 collector cards.

As someone who hates the 'Best Buy set-up' R-Zone, perimeter cases would be fantastic.

As it stands, though, it's irrelevant to me, since my local TRU still has the paper slip system (which, by the way, is still awesome).

why are those cards so in-demand? I sold a copy of Sith Edition to a guy-- he opened it, tried to return, but asked if he could keep the card.

I'm trying to figure that out too. I'd happily sell the card and keep the game for free. They're not on ebay unless i'm searching wrong

I know that. I am curious if anyone had opened their copy to confirm, since amazon's descriptions have been wrong in the past.

My Toys R US is already like this.

No idea... but Lucas Arts sent me ALL 10 of those cards a while back and I just gave them away cause I thought they were useless. They are now worth about $10 each. Possibly more if you have all 10 together.

My TRU just has one long isle with a bunch of paper slips with a picture of the cover. I don't know what most of you guys are talking about, that is just strange!!! O_O

I think my TRU is a bit odd. All games $40 and over have empty display cases on the shelves that you have to bring up to the counter for them to get the game out of the glass case. All games below $40 are in those clear plastic clam shell cases on the shelf like best buy has.

not really odd, thats become a standard now a days
Here's a list of MOST, save 1 or 2 titles, Xbox 360 titles on clearance from my list. The 98 cents and dollar sign are assumed to be appended. So the price you'd pay in store during the sale would be 25% off of what's listed here. Additionally, this week, titles under $19.99 are B1G1 50% off, and the two promos stack. The two titles with question marks for prices are ones I just didn't write down for some reason:

These prices are not impressive on their own, but there are mailers going around with $10 Off coupons attached, and that combined with some $5 Rewards Bucks can make for a good deal.

I'll try to post back later with titles for other systems.
Here's some PSP titles I saw on Sunday while trying to use the 60% off coupon:

Jak and Daxter $16.98
GTA: Chinatown Wars $24.98
Yugioh 5D's Tag Force 4 $24.98
Prinny $24.98
Phantasy Star Portable $22.98

Was at TRU yesterday and saw that Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 has started the clearance cycle. Was $49.98. Any one know how often the clearance prices are reduced at TRU? Been wanting to get Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for cheap.

Not sure how often but usually drops go in effect on Mondays.

Dead Space Extraction and A Boy and His Blob are 24.98, not a bad deal overall with the sale going on. I was looking into Wet, which dropped to 19.99. That seems less like a clearance price and more of a new MSRP.

wet is not a good game, horrible graphics, good but quickly repetitive gameplay. try the demo if you already haven't.

WET is an ok game if you're a decent shot, but I'm a lousy shot in most shooters unless I have time to properly aim or I'm in a vehicle shooting on the run. So the fact that your health regen is tied to how many John Woo Hong Kong styled combo kills you can do means I died ALOT playing the game.

Then again I got it for $5 from Sears and my one buddy finished it while I watching him play it, so he got the $5 worth of use out of it for me.

Oh and donutkid2222, WET was supposed to look like it did(like an old grainy action film).

2 weeks ago saw that ninja gaiden sigma 2 started the clearance cycle being priced at $49.98. Yesterday went to check if the price had dropped yet and it was still $49.98:whistle2:( I wonder how long it is going to take to start going down in price. I thought price drops usually happen every Monday at TRU. Well I guess I'll just keep on checking up on it.
This is slightly off-topic, but I think most people will want to hear about it.

A few weeks ago I dropped by the TRU I used to work at and chatted with the R-Zone supervisor. He was pretty upset at corporate and began going off about how theyre getting ready to alter how the store displays games. Instead of their current Best Buy-esque system with the games on the floor in EAS cases, theyre switching to a Walmart-like system with the entire perimeter of the section being lined with glass cases. Theyre also opening the area up some by completely removing one wall to make the main R-Zone entrance more welcoming and adding a second entrance through the boys section.

He didnt say if this change is going into effect for every TRU, but my suspicion is that it will. I cant imagine corporate making such a dramatic change in one store without making it in all the stores. From my time working there, I can attest to how anal they about all their stores being alike.

Whether this affects how they do clearance, I dont know. Itll give them more room to store games, but I cant see them sitting on mountains of shovelware for years at a time. TRU has been really great with clearance in the past, so hopefully theyll continue to throw us good deals.
Interestingly enough the bigger wal-mart's in my area are starting to change their cases from that style actually. Here the larger ones are rolling out open cases with no glass and individually cased games like best buy.

I saw signs today advertising an extra 30% off all 360 and PS3 clearance games ("price ending in 8 or 0"). I think it runs from 8/20 to 8/28.
