Trade 1, get Pokemon X or Y for free

It's a good deal until you realize nothing is worth $15 unless it's basically a brand new game.

Picked up LEGO City Undercover from Shoppers for $19.99 to do this deal.  Guess I won't need that $26.66 copy from Future Shop any more.

There are plenty of older games that still trade in for $15 minimum.

They're selling it for $19.99, and it trades in for $15? Hm.

I'm just annoyed because I took a few 3DS games in and everyone of them came up at $14 the last time they did this promotion.

I don't think any 3DS game has been $15+ for a while now.
A good guideline that I read is that games that sell recycled for $44.99 are likely candidates for deals like this, which is why no 3DS games qualify: there aren't any that are that expensive (even Shin Megami Tensei IV sells for $34.99 recycled).

Those weird "trade one to get one free game" deals can be pretty sweet.
I traded PAPER MARIO 3DS for MARIO&LUIGI 3DS that I then traded to get PokemonX.

I don't know how they make money doing this.
