The Complete Generation One series!

Four million years after crash landing on an unfamiliar planet, sentient robots with the ability to disguise themselves as common vehicles awaken on present day Earth. Engaged in a crucial race to find a new energy source for their home planet of Cybertron, Optimus Prime and the heroic Autobots must defend the innocent people of Earth against their archnemeses, Megatron and the power-hungry Decepticons.

In 1983 a fateful trip to a Japanese toy fair uncovered a phenomenon that would soon rule not only the world of toys, but also the realms of comics, airwaves and the silver screen as well. Since then, the war between the peaceful Autobots and the villainous Decepticons has captured the imaginations of children and adults alike, launching hundreds of collectible toys, comic books, animated series and feature films. Now Shout! Factory and Hasbro celebrate 25 years of Robots In Disguise with the 16-disc Transformers: The Complete Series 25th Anniversary Matrix Of Leagership Edition. This deluxe set includes all 98 restored episodes, new interviews, exclusive featurettes, concept art, archival Hasbro toy commercials, printable scripts and much more! This set also includes a collectible 60-page book and Autobot and Decepticon magnets.

DD has it for $108.09 shipped (which means it's best to wait and buy it during their 25% off sale coming in the next few months for $81)

I'm glad to see it's available retail: The more choices, the better the deals...

CDEENER: DD also has G.I. Joe complete for $114.43, so we may be able to get that for $85 during their crazy sale. Overstock has it for $117.87 (with pictures :) ) Release date = 11/10/09

UPDATE: Looks like Amazon just dropped Transformers to $129.99. I'm almost certain it was full-price a minute ago when I first looked. Let's see how low this can go...

Thanks, Kerig, for the info. Does anyone have any clue when deepdiscount has their 25% sale? That would be a sweet deal. The only thing with deepdiscount is that they take forever to get the items to you. Sometimes, they don't even come. Remember the Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition for PS3 and Wii Fit fiascos?

They've had the semi-annual sale for quite a few years now, they raised it to 25% off ever since last year IIRC (before that it used to be 20%).

Last sale was in July, last one before that was November 2008 (according to my purchase history), so it should be here just in time for G.I. Joe. The sale doesn't work on Preorders, but works just fine on Out Of Stock items. I expect these to go OOS within 24 hours of the sale starting.

Keep checking the CAG DVD threads for more info.

Keep in mind though that DD will probably raise the price back up to full MSRP when the sale starts, so keep that in mind.

DD always tries to avoid charging MSRP for anything, that's pretty much the point of their entire business structure.

During last November's sale I bought Dr. Katz The Complete Series (incidentally, the most expensive DVD set I've ever purchased) for $83.88 (same price it was before the sale) - 25% = $62.91.

Today, the DD price for the set is $88.90. (a bit higher than Amazon's current price of $79.49, but DD is weird like that)

Every thread about the suspicious pricejacking is mostly a 50/50 split of sneaky/coincidence. I've never seen any pricejacking personally.

The one thing I do know about the sale is they're required to pull certain anime titles from their inventory altogether during the sale. That has something to do with contracts between DD and the publishers of the titles directly.

Its nice to know its a price out there but all my free cash will be tied up in buying my 250 GB MW2 Xbox 360 bundle that day. I might just wind up buying the individual sets as they come out.

Nice. We need to get them to add rep to this site for the worthy posts that need it. Kerig you would have my vote for lots of it. We Need Rep!
Looks like they sold out already. Time to get the GI Joe set. My wife is so gonna kill me.:twoguns::drool:
I am holding out for a DD sale. [crosses fingers] ... mostly for the above reason.

It probably won't be back to full MSRP, but it definitely will be more than their current sale price. DD always does that. A little misleading, but as long as the price with 25% off is still cheaper than their original sale price, it's not a big deal.

I've been waiting for these to hit massive retail and drop from their $140 prices on Shout Factory's website. Can't believe all the suckers that bought for that price. These will easily be sub-$100 before Christmas.

I purchased this for $152.99 on Amazon, had it Pre-Ordered.

But here is the BIG WIN for me. After reading this thread and the Price Drop I emailed Amazon about it and told them other retailers are selling it for $115 shipped. They refunded me $37.99 as a goodwill refund then the following day I got another email about the Pre-Order price guarantee and got refunded another $23.

So pretty much got this for $92 =D
ii bought mine at comic con. granted i paid full price (115 each), but i got autographs (megatron's voice and GI Joe artist ^^)
I'm curious...where were they selling this at comic con? I don't remember seeing this at Hasbrotoyshop.

The Shout rep at Botcon was an old business acquaintance of mine and she told me it was going on sale during SDCC at their booth. Hasbro wouldn't likely have it at theirs since Shout has the distro/publishing rights for it.
