Just a question since I've been hearing mixed reviews across the board from fans and casual gamers alike...but what do the fans think? $20 sounds like a fantastic price and I'm almost down with that but when I read a handful of mediocre reviews from fans...
 
Damn. I really want this but it says that it won't ship to a PO Box. That's strange because I have ordered from Amazon with no problem before.

I think it won't ship to a PO Box because it's from Toys R Us.

I think its getting rare in the sense that harder to find, not worth much...
 
I have, they usually ship via USPS. I ordered last week when they had the free shipping and they sent that order by DHL.

But before that, orders from ToysRus/Amazon were always sent by USPS.
 
I bought it just on the fact that it was "rare." It's rare to find a game that sucks as bad. They didn't even bother translating the game correctly, so it makes no sense whatsover. Stay away.

The items I ordered last week shipped UPS, Postal Service and DHL (delivered by the postal service).
 
Yeah, i see this game everywhere i go. I'll buy it if toysrus have free shipping option. Also, remembered u have to pay taxes for it too.
 
Thanks for the deal, OP. Unfortunately, I don't think this game is worth $20. People seem to buy it b/c it's got a nice-looking female protagonist, but the gameplay is wonky and repetitive. If you like torture-porn, however, it's prob. up your alley. The vast majority of gamers won't find much fun to be had here.
 
Fans of the originals will find more to love in this game. It is twisted in a fun way. The traps and ridiculous plotline are good fun, and hitting someone with an 8 foot long sickle, bouncing them off a wall, and then having land in a lava pit has never been such a guilty pleasure.

The graphics are decent, but the gameplay is smoother and tighter than the PS1 originals. The traps and "alternate levels" are always good for a laugh. Don't diss a game that lets you drop an "infuriating bed pan" on an enemy's head, then hit them with a vase full of oil, then hit them with a flaming arrow. ;)

it got me interested even though I have no clue what this game is actually about.
so, who doesn't like torture-porn?! (that just a joke, right?!? if not, let me know and I'll buy a copy).

Personally the deception games were my favorite on the PS1 so i got Trapt without a seconds hesitation. I persoanlly like it but thats because i liked the PS1 games so much.

I'd agree with this, it's more for fans of the Deception series. Maybe it takes a dark sense of humor, but there's a certain satisfaction in setting up multi-combo traps and seeing them play out just right. But as a niche game it's definantly not for everyone. There can be some massive slowdown in the game when the traps are going off, the enemy AI is kinda bad, and the subtitles are laughably horrible. Worth $20 if you're a fan of the series, imo.

I think it is worth the $20 just for the subtitles and bizarre character names. :)

I think I saw this for $14.99 at my Best Buy. Too bad I had already bought it.

It's not on the BB website anymore (was it ever?), so if anyone can confirm a sighting for it B&M @BB for $19.99 ($14.99 w/GGC), I'd jump on that this weekend.

As always, shipping kills the deals at TRU/Amazon.

last time i checked (last Saturday), it was 49.99 @ my bb, but i hope it's 19.99 now...15 bucks new is a price i would buy it for...not 50 though
 
I was at Best Buy today and it was $49.99 on the shelf. I went to TRU today as well and it was $39.99 there. I took it to the counter to get the price checked but it wasn't the same price as on Amazon.

Be a good little CAG-in-training: Go back to BB and bring it to the register to buy it, if it's not $19.99 walk out (and knock over the magazine rack on the way out).

You see, when God Of War and Burnout: Revenge dropped, most BBs took a good 2-3 weeks to change the shelf-card price...

I went to my closest BB tonight, they didn't have Trapt in stock (the downside of the ambiguous site link removal/price-decline connection: you can't check to see which store has it in stock anymore...)
