Tritton AX720 at BestBuy 129.99

CAGiversary!
Just was at Bestbuy and bought a pair of Tritton AX720 headphones.
They are going for 129 dollars. I have a pair of the AX360 and these blow them away. You can really tell were other players in games are coming from which direction. These are not even on their website yet. So if you are looking for a pair they got them in now.
I picked up the 720s at BB a couple of days ago. Was buying a camera so figured I'd take advantage of the 18mo financing with these.

They are going back today.

I liked:
- Positional sound worked very well.

I disliked:
- Terrible bass, really weak sounding
- They are freaking heavy -- too heavy for me to wear comfortably for long
- They are HUGE. The pads actually lay on part of my jaw, so everytime I would talk they would shuffle around on my ears.
- I (mistakenly) thought that I could have them hooked up to more than one system at a time. This was a big drawback for me. I want to be able to effortlessly switch between my 360, PS3 and Wii without moving cables all around.
Seriously? You must have a weak neck and a small head.....While not small, they fit comfortably on my head. I've worn them for 5 hours straight and my neck never got fatigued......As far as the bass, I felt it was pretty good. In Modern Warfare 2, guns have that powerful sound to them and grenades really boom.....Check your settings....
Does anyone know the price of the extended warranty for the 720s at bestbuy?
When I bought mine I asked for the warranty. The clerk tried ringing that up and it said this product does not offer extended warranty from Best Buy. Tritton says it as a 1 to 3 year warranty.

Got my Trittons. I love them, the mic was getting on my nerves but I fiddled around with it and got it to work. I was owning ass on Modern Warfare 2. Just got out of a match in which I went 38-2. I heard everyone coming and had great communication with my team. Good stuff Tritton.

P.S. I got the extended warranty from Bestbuy. $20 for a 2 year warranty, kinda pricy but it's worth it for the peace of mind

Also to anyone with mic problems. I connected the usb that is meant for the ps3 to my 360 and it fixed my mic problems. Don't know how that fixed it but whatever

I am sad to say I just picked these up and when I talk on xbox live everyone says I had a buzzing noise so I sent a message and listened to it and sure enough there was a pretty louds buzz even when I wasnt talking. Is there a way to fix this?

Also I can't seem to remove the microphone.

HELP ME!

ok so im using HDMI and i have the dongle thing that came with the Elite console. But when i plug the optical into it, no sound comes from the headset... is there somethin else i need to plug into them?

Hey guys. In the future, it might be better to check out the turtle beach website or just type your question into google. This isn't really a support thread.

got these around a month ago, but completely forgot to thank the peeps in this thread for recommending them! best headset ive owned, and worthy of all the aforementioned praise

Ive had the turtle beach x4 for about a year an really didn't think they were that great. Cant believe i paid 200 for them. Bought th AX 180 last week since I got into warcraft and the added PS3 functionality. Abosolutly love them. Think the sound is better than the x4 and the quality is really good for the price.

One question. is there any way I can use them on the go with an mp3 player. still havent figured out how.

Troy - I would return them ad wait 2 weeks till the new PRO model comes out for the same price.

I'm pretty sure BB has a 30-day return policy. Also, Tritton has a year warranty on your headset if it's faulty.

does anybody know if best buy is still carrying these? I've checked online to see if they're carrying them and all the stores around me seem to be sold out for both the Trittons and Turtlebeachs as well.

Yes, they still do.

Tritton recently stopped shipping the PROs out, because they needed to change/improve a few things. But just yesterday they started shipping them out to retailers again.

However, the 720s were not effected by this.

Picked up one yesterday - though it may be going back in favor of the A40. I'm not sure if this is (or ever was) an item they carry in quantity, and according to what people have repeatedly said here, 2 or less show up as unavailable on BB.com.

I realized that one source of the "buzzing" that other people report when talking through these is sometimes caused by if you have your play and charge kit plugged in, just a heads up.

I was NOT impressed with the AX 360 which also has Dolby Digital 5.1 with the full 4 speaker on each ear. I could NOT tell if the sounds were coming from behind me or in front of me. Only left and right worked!

Essentially they were stereo headphones to me. I was rather disappointed due to the price. Just my 2 cents.

Does anyone know how to order a spare power supply for the AX720's? I can see the item on the website under the replacement parts section but you can't click on it to get a price or ordering info. Anyone ever order any spare stuff from them that can shed some light on the process? For the record, my 720's have been great, just want another power supply so I can use them on my PC also without having to climb behind my TV all the time.

Just like you, I found the part I wanted, but there was nothing to click.

Your best bet is to contact Tritton and ask for another 1. I know they do this for mics.

Any idea when these are going be getting shipped out? I can't seem to get my local(~70miles!) Best Buy to get any more in so I can look them over before I buy them.

I emailed them a few weeks ago (Tritton) to see if BB was getting more. This is the response I got on Feb 22nd:

Hello Joe,

Best Buy has been out of our product for a little bit of time now. However, our products hit the distribution center on Thursday to be sent out to the Best Buys. They should have some in stock in the next week to 2 weeks.

Thank you,

I ended up buying some 'open box' ones off of ebay. The mic wasn't working, but I called up Tritton and they had a new mic and cable to me in 3 days without me providing any warranty info or anything. Just a free mic and line in cable. (They sound phenominal... not as great as my actual surround sound, the bass isn't as crisp... but positionally they are better) Seems like a good company.
Anyone who know for sure if the AXPro G9 Adapter (analog 5.1) will work for AX720?
Im guessing youre trying to connect the 720's to your pc with 5.1 audio?
the problem is that there are only 2 drivers in the 720's and the axpro and its cable is wired for its 8 drivers.
I think the cable will work though youll only receive input from the green (front audio) plug.
I could be wrong though, I dont have experience with the g9 cable.

I have the AX 720s and am using them on my PS3 I have one question, I can't hear myself talk through the speakers in the headset, is there a way to enable this functionality ?

I don't think you are able to do that. If you did hear yourself on the headset, then it would probably echo to other people.
