UMD drive

My PSP's UMD drive won't read disks anymore. It was bought at Best Buy around 2 months ago, but I have misplaced the receipt and can't find it. I tried calling Sony about it, but they said if I have my receipt, it'll be replaced for free, but if I don't it'll cost like $80.

Anything I can do? Does anyone know if Best Buy can look up receipts?

Go to Best Buy and have them search for the receipt. Try to pinpoint the day as close as possible.

It was bought by a friend with a credit card..how would that work?

Take him with you, they can definitely look it up with the CC#

Yeah I think you can go to the help section, they've got computers to look that kinda stuff up.

It sounds like they're just trying to weasel out of it. When I called Nintendo for support for my old DS phat, they pinpointed the date and specific store location at which the item was purchased simply by the serial number.

Either way, just take your friend with you and they can easily trace the purchase. Don't let them tell you otherwise.
