Hello fellow CAG users. I have recently become aware of the situation which has been recently escalating in the South American country of Venezuela. I have a friend who has a Venezuelan relative. Her family has recently been trying to leave the country, but they have been restricted from doing so. My friend is deeply concerned about this situation because it has not hit national news as of the present moment (these riots have been occurring since around a week and a half ago). Social media (Twitter was shut down in the country), the press, and various other forms of communication have been struck down in the country in order to prevent any news of what is going on in Venezuela from being sent to the rest of the world. Men and women, old and young, have been beaten and killed when they protested against the government.
My friend has asked me to spread the word of these events in order to educate and allow others to be at the very least aware of the tense situation in Venezuela. In light of these recent events, I encourage all who care about the lives of fellow human beings to simply educate themselves and simply spread the word of what is going on in this country. Tweet, post this news on Facebook, tell your family and friends, or do WHATEVER you can to spread the word. I'm still confused as to what is going on in the country, but I would like to help in the movement to clear up what exactly is going on in Venezuela.
