any ideas on how to get the $16.96 games bought earlier in the week down to $8.96 that are still ringing up at $16.96, but people getting them today for $8.96? like Lunar Kinghts
 
Had some success in San Diego. I had a stack of Xbox 360 and PS2 games that rang up $8.96 each! Then the employee checking the prices tells me there is a strict limit of 3 games total per customer! We talked and he said if I just grabbed the games randomly because they ALL rang up $8.96!!! I said no and that I had a list, he then asked where I got it from and I continued to tell him that "my co-worker emailed it to me"!! Hahahahaha!!! The guy continues and says that they "never got a list" so they have been price checking all morning!!!! Anyhow, I was disappointed at the three per customer total of games, but he added that previously, some people would hoard the games and flip them. I only had one title of each game that I wanted, and I only picked three. The three I purchased were DOA Extreme 2, Godhand, and the Kinetic w/ Eye Toy for my g/f. I'm looking to hit other CC's in the area to score what I want. Anyhow, congrats to those able to score more than three per transaction!!!!

BTW, tons of people were clueless on what was for sale! I had a lady "follow me like a bloodhound", trying to see what I was grabbing.
 
Went to 2 Circuit Citys in Ma. and the only game I picked up was Condemned for $8.96. They had plenty of copies of COD2 at both stores, but neither store had them on clearance.
 
Just got back from CC in Enfield, CT. They only had the games in the flyer as $8.96. I picked up TIGER WOODS 07 for the 360.

Like the previous poster, COD2... plenty in stock, $29.99
 
Went to the Westbury, NY store today:

Picked up the last two copies of Def Jam: Icon (PS3), plus one copy each of Bullet Witch and Project Sylpheed for 360 (there was one of each left). Didn't see any of the other PS3/360 clearance titles (except old sports stuff) there.
 
Went back and picked up:

Parappa the Rapper (Caved and bought it even though my PS1 version still works...could come in handy as a backup, and it supposedly has remixes)

The funny thing is, that only Magical Starsign and Gangs of London were in the bin. Both Yakuza and Parappa were still on the shelf. Also of note was that Phoenix Wright: Justice for All (2nd one) was stickered at 8.96, and not Ace Attorney (the 1st one)...well, actually, they didn't even have the first one, so I couldn't check if that one was on sale as well.
 
I found Parappa the Rapper which is really the only game I really wanted and also picked up NBA 2K7 for 360. There wasn't much else, I did notice Lost Magic, Scurge Hive, Touch Swing Golf all for DS and Final Fantasy VI for GBA in the clearance bin though. There were alot of PS2 counterparts of the 360 sports games that are on sale too.
 
Just got PS3 Icon, 360 NHL 2K7, DS Elite Beat Agents and PSP Chili Con Carnage all for $8.96. Got PS3 NBA 07 as well, but will be returning due to bad reviews.
 
Went this morning before the Crowds hit an got Full Auto fpr PS3 for $16.96. They had 2 copies of Just Cause and nothing much else. Sterling Heights MI store BTW...

Ran back up before work today and there wasn't a whole lot. I did manage to find Star Trek (360) and NHL 2k7 (360).

Star Trek rang up 16.96, but the lady at the register did an overide to 8.96. I passed on Bionicle, but may grab it if it's still there next weekend.

Actually, I think I read that Kotaku picked it up from GayGamer. Don't know if GayGamer got it directly from CAG or another source...but it is listed directly on the CAG homepage...
 
At my CC nothing was marked $8.99, and several of the 360 titles listed rang up at the regular price. (tony hawk, call of duty 2)
 
Went to the Vero Beach, FL CC today and ended up buying:

Custom Robo Arena (DS)
Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter (had been there forever as a 'Cool Deals' game)

Got four Everquest Online Adventures game cards for a penny ($.01) each as well. Was actually the highlight of my trip.

Also, ALL PC games are 20% off. Almost jumped on a new copy of FFXI: Treasures of Aht Urghan that was originally $20.

The selection when I got there looked somewhat picked over. Only other game I really wanted was Yakuza. There were a few God Hands in the bin, along with some JRPGs (VP2, Tales of Legendia). Otherwise, your generic assortment of sports/mediocre games. Had Bullet Witch and Project Sylpheed for 360, but passed since I heard Sylpheed has a horrible frame rate.

Which Circuit City in San Diego did you go to?
 
Was pretty disapointed with the 'Dena CC, though it seems a number of stores had gone the route of "let the customer hunt for em".

Managed to find God Hand, I -think- they had some other titles but looked already cleaned out. Very 'meh' sale. :p
 
Last time I went to Circuit City I noticed they dumped all their Gamecube games into what they usually use as "clearance" bins. I didn't feel like price matching anything, but it got me wondering if they are going to clearance out all Gamecube games soon.
 
I just realized all 5 or so copies of COD2 were gone. Seems like somebody is hording around here. If it's not 007, we have a lurker or SD/FW'er in our territory. Ugh.
 
I woke up around noon and by the time I got down to CC, they were pretty picked over. I ended up getting Devil May Cry 3 for $8.96 at the Chandler, AZ CC; and at the Fiesta Mall CC I picked up the Lego Star Wars Complete Saga & Mario Galaxy strategy guides for 50% off. The Lego SW guide rang up as $5
 
Man I really wish CC was still here, the closest one is like 50 miles away and I don't want to drive that far only for them to be wiped clean.

Picked up children of mana,wario twisted and DJ Icon @ circuit city clairmont in San Diego.Check the game rows there are alot of games not in the bargain bins like def jam icons and trauma center DS

They still had DefJam Icon (nobody seems to be interested in that hehe). Didn't have the NBA 07 I wanted. :(

I still managed to pick up:

NCAA March Madness 07 (360): $8.96

and as I've been waiting on Just Cause to drop for forever, I ended up snagging one of those at $14.99.

Along with NBA Street Homecourt (PS3) and NHL 2k7 (360) for $8.96 apiece the other day, I'm happy with the haul. Still wouldn't mind finding an NBA 07, but other than that...

My store when it comes to PS3 titles is horrible because they only have a few and the main thing they have is Ratchet & Clank: Future which they had like 10 copies of.
 
I forget to mention. I picked up the last couple children of mana and wario twisted. No copies of okami,mario and luigi,final fantasy gba or phoenix wright @ clairmont mesa location in sd.

First off, they have a barcode they now scan if youre a member since the cards never worked. This barcode takes 10% off regardless of a sale or clearence.

Now if your CC is giving you trouble about this...look around for some clearence games that have that 10% off member sticker on them. My CCs have tons of clearence games with that stupid sticker...in fact, I think they nailed almost every game in the store with it.

Yeah, my store was really light on PS3 games, even the full-priced variety. I wonder if they simply haven't restocked since Christmas, or what, but the only game they came close to having five copies of, let alone ten, was Rainbow Six Vegas.

When I checked last night my store had several copies of Parappa mixed in with the regular priced games (they were still tagged $29.99) and they had the 10% sticker on them. I don't know if they moved those over to the bin this morning but if they did you could probably get the discount on top of it.

Well, the copy I saw yesterday around 3pm or so was definitely already marked at $8.96, so it's entirely possible that people really did just buy them, as opposed to hoarders. It really just depends on when they had been marked at that price.

It's part of why I assumed, rightly it seems, that there wouldn't be anything today, since if they marked COD2, it's likely they marked everything else early, too.

Shame, too, since I was interested in COD2, but I wouldn't take a Platinum Hits version if they paid me. Oh, well.

Worked for me with no problem. They also didn't give me a hard time for buying 4 games (ad says limit 3 per customer).

I agree I actually ended up buying a Gamer's Card a few nights ago and before I did I asked about it and the girl tried it out bringing the $8.96 games down to about $8 before tax.
 
My Circuit City had absolutely nothing (Brick, NJ). And the customer service was absolutely atrocious. There was no specific section dedicated to these $8 games. They didn't have God Hand, Star Ocean 3, or Onimusha 4. Very, very dissappointing. Ugh.
 
I wouldn't mind getting Top Spin 2 for 360 at that low price, but my CC never has crap--and they never answer the phones in the video game section.
 
Stopped in both Madison, WI CC's today and they don't have jack.
Was looking for Far Cry, COD2, Condemned, and Tony Hawk Wasteland for the 360 - Jade Empire for Xbox - and Godhand and Onimusha: DOD for the PS2.
Only one they had was COD2 which isn't on their list and is still at $29.99. Even had the guy scan it to be sure.
Would've liked to have also snagged Okami and MGS3 Subsistence at $16.95, but all the aforementioned titles are long gone.
 
I went to the Clarksville, IN CC and asked about the games that were advertised on sale. The guy working in games restocking the shelves directed me to one metal bin. I was looking for Xbox 360 titles, but I didn't see much besides several copies of "NBA 2K6" and one copy of "Bulletwitch" which I passed on. I did manage to get "Elite Beat Agents" (DS) for $8.96 and "Fable: The Lost Chapter" (Xbox) for $9.99. I almost passed on EBA because it was marked as $16.96 and the guy in games specifically told me that the games would ring up as marked, but I decided to have the cashier price check it because I had seen so many people here get it for $8.96. I'm glad that I did.

Below are some of the titles I remember being there. I have no idea how they will ring up however because almost nothing was tagged as 8.96.

Bulletwitch (360) $16.96
NBA 2k6 (360) $16.96
The first "Phoenix Wright" (DS) $16.96
"Fable: The Lost Chapter" (Xbox) $9.99
NFL Head Coach (PS2 and Xbox) $12.99

Magical Starsign (DS) $16.96 ( I may swing by and see if it rings up as $8.96 tomorrow. If so, it might be added to my collection)
 
None of the games I bought were priced to sell, that's why they were still there on the shelves and not in the bins! DOA Extreme 2 has a tag of $59.99, Kinetic with the Eyetoy camera has a tag of $49.99, and Godhand for the PS2 has a tag of $29.99, all ringing up $8.96!!!

I would have been a happier camper if the employee let me check out w/ the stack of games I had, which is one of each of what I wanted!!! Everything I had in my hands rang up $8.96 after price checking. But I guess that stupid fine print of "Limit 3 games per customer" is in the ad.
 
Last week I checked my local CC's clearance stock. I was interested in Elite Beat Agets, Top Spin 2, Tiger Woods 2007, and NBA 2k7.

Well I ended up with EBA and 2k7. They sold through the four or five copies of Tiger Woods that they had last week and Top Spin 2 still rang up as 16.96.
