video card help

i have a acer aspire t180(pci e x16 1.0) and looking to upgrade from my on board video.
I am looking for best bang for my buck on the low to mid end cards.
I dont know a lot about video cards, I need to know what to look for memory chip, exc.....
hope not to upgrade power supply but will if needed.

I will be playing older games such as guild wars and plan to play diablo 3 at some point.
no video/photo editing exc.....

not sure which way to go nvidia or radeon (i have always used nvidia in the past)

i have
Windows7 64home
1 gb of memory(2 by christmas)
amd 64x2 4400
budget 50 or 70

ok i got like a 70 dollar budget but will do more if needed i got a 250 wat power supply that i will need to upgrade at the same time i am sure so i need to keep close to the 70 dollar mark for the video card ...... and my chip set is nvidia i dont know if that is important or not
