Kojima said himself, he isn't putting it on 360.
And Shinji Mikami said that he would
cut his ing head off if Resident Evil 4 was ever ported to any system other than Gamecube. His head is still attached. A game developer's word stands for less and less these days.
If the game ever ends up on another platform, Kojima isn't doing it himself. From what I gather, the Konami America and Europe wants it to happen, but Kojima Productions does not (and Kojima Productions has more say than they do, because they are in Japan). Kojima said himself PS3 is needed to make his vision come alive (with a 50GB blu-ray disc).
Wrong wrong wrong wrong and
ing
wrong.
So, let's say they decide to put it on 360. Why would Kojima need to be involved in this? Seriously, he's really not even the most important person on the project to begin with. Shuyo Murata is. So, again, after the PS3 version is complete, yeah, he's done with it one way or another. But as I stated, they don't need him presiding over doing a port.
Moving on. Regarding Kojima Productions: Why do people keep talking about them as if they're a separate company/entity from Konami? They aren't. They aren't even an actual "division" of Konami, in business terms. "Kojima Productions" is simply the name of the specific development team within Konami Computer Entertainment Japan that Kojima is in charge of. Nothing more. You saying "
Konami America and Europe wants it to happen, but Kojima Productions does not" makes no sense, because Konami and Kojima Productions are basically the
exact same thing. Kojima Productions is about as separate from Konami as the kitchen is from the register at Burger King.
Also, in case you don't know, America is probably the
first thing on the Konami suits' minds regarding Metal Gear Solid, as the series is way more popular and lucrative in the USA than it is in Japan. It stands to reason that they're going to damn well consider what would be best for the American market for the game.
And lastly, as I'm explained 8
ing billion times in the past, Blu-Ray does NOT allow developers to do anything new. Any time they say otherwise, it's pure hype bullshit. Blu-ray only allows them to store the exact same stuff, but with less disc-swapping. Anything they can put on a Blu-ray disc, can be put on one or more Xbox 360 DVDs. Blu-Ray itself doesn't provide for better graphics or more content; it only has the potential to be
slightly more convenient. Nothing more.
And shit, dude. Yeah, a single Blu-ray can hold 50 gigs, whatever. That's all fine and good, but thanks to the PS3's stupid, stupid, stupid rigid RAM structure, they can never have more than 256 megabytes of graphics assets (including all polygon meshes, textures, bumpmaps, etc) on-screen at any given instant. The 360 has a dynamic RAM architecture, allowing developers to re-allocate anywhere from basically 0 to ~500 megs of RAM to graphics on the fly, depending on how much is needed for everything else. This flexibility is key to the 360's graphics capabilities, and makes things much easier on developers.
Oh, and just to make it clear, I DON'T think that I can "prove" whether MGS4 will be on 360 or not. I can't, and neither can anyone else. I do think that there is more
logical evidence pointing to it happening eventually than not, though. But regardless, scientifically, it's impossible to prove anything in the negative, so to anyone trying to "prove" that it's impossible for it to come to 360 needs to stop trying to break science.
Also, remember before, Xbots badly wanted MGS2 on their platform, yet next to none of them bought Substance. Xbots wouldn't buy MGS, they like that shit called Splinter Cell.
Do you, or do you not realize how much stupider you become, every
ing time you say "Xbots"?
