Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

GTFO with this bs post.

These are those phantom "related products" at the bottom of the page on Brickseek that are never listed at that price.

I have seen a few of them be accurate. But the deceptive part is if 1 store shows $1 but literally every other store shows $59.99, its just going to advertise the low of $1. It sucks, but it can be helpful sometimes.

i understand and agree that none of us are going to be finding these at those prices, but i dont think the venomous backlash is necessary. it's possible that the poster didnt understand and was just trying to help.

Store around me says 4 in stock of the White one. They had a bunch of other clearance coolers(soft shell ozark), but not the white one. Don't really like the blue one, but there are supposedly some in stock at another store might have to settle cant beat that price.

I thought the same. Just be careful based on the reviews on read.

Yep, I only saw a handful of them at the prices listed like p5 though many like the yokai watches dq heroes ect still appeared in my area for 3-10$. I figured I would post them all anyway since all the deals everyone else posts are 90% of the time not in my area either. People entering the thread know that brick seek is ymmv as is walmart clearance so I don't know why anyone would expect otherwise. Next time I'll try and list what the prices were in my area in comparison to the lowest listing for brick seek to lower the amount of complaining.

I remember talking to Jurai about this.

The issue some may have is that the prices are literally fake. There are over 10,000 walmart stores in the US. If one employee in one store makes a pricing error, brickseek will advertise "THIS NEW $60 GAME IS NOW $1!!!!". The thing is, it was an error, and most likely not even in stock at that one store.

There should be some due diligence before posting deals, members should be at least vetting them somewhat. It gets old seeing crazy deals posted that simply are not real.

You're not wrong, Romeo. A certain amount of due diligence is expected, and appreciated. i would simply make the point, that its entirely possible the poster wasnt as familiar with the functionality of brickseek (which we should agree is not entirely intuitive) and he made his post in good faith. we ought to educate and enlighten him/her, rather than admonish. we cant complain about lurkers and simultaneously discourage new posters with ridicule.

Don't worry. I just wanted to isolate them because in the past two weeks there have been real clearance drops (still unexplained). Didn't want people to get their hopes up and think these were also from the same clearance wave.

At least the $.03 games had a legitimate reason for being $.03.

Just picked up Hyrule Warriors & Captain Toad (game only) for Wii U at $3. Also found 3DS Mario & Luigi Paper Jam for $19
Btw, can confirm the Captain Toad drop to $3. Picked some up yesterday. No Hyrule Warriors near me so no idea on that one.

Paper Jam dropped to $19 at a lot of stores in the past year. Great price for a soon to be very rare expensive game.

I agree completely.

Also to add on, and I've been saying this for well over ten years, this site needs to be members only. At the very minimum, the gaming deals section.

Yeah dood, I’m glad you run this site.
Should totally be members only because some guy posted “extreme” ymmv deal and then that one lurker who went to Jurais own personal walmart and bought all the games before Jurai was able to buy just 1 copy of each.....yeah dood members only would make sure that bull never happens again.
Then maybe every member could get the same cool members only jacket and be so cool and go to convention’s and stuff and be twins like Arnold and Danny. Maybe even get badges made....
After talking to yourself for ten years I doubt you’ll stop. [attachment=31919:2827CD3E-FEEB-4B26-AF5C-47C210F8BCED.jpeg]

miami, it's obvious you're trolling, though I'll bite a bit.

I belong to various forums regarding various hobbies. Some of those which have deal sections are members only. It's two fold, to prevent lurkers, and to promote a community. And with those sites come members ratings and feedback. There is a sense of camaraderie, where people help one another. The vibe I get here, especially when I see posts bragging how they bought 5 copies of X or how much they can flip at Gamestop, is 'me me me'.

that must be some good bud

It’s probably not a new deal but I picked up FIFA 14 for PS3 for $0.03 today. The cashier said it must be a mistake and I was expecting another case of not being allowed to buy a $0.03 game but the other employee at the electronics counter said it was ok to sell.

This is from the $.03 batch last year around this time. I wish I could find you the master list we had going but its lost somewhere in this thread.

Have always wondered if anything would happen if you were able to make it to the self-checkout stations with these games and paid the 3 cents there. Would WM people try to stop you as you walked out the door?! Getting to self-checkout with a game is unlikely though, cause they police the gaming area like hawks and insist you pay @ Electronics.

None of us here really had problems. The self-check person is really there to help assist, not monitor 24/7.

Worst case scenario is you show them the price on the app and they let you go.

I had hyrule warriors near me. it was 10$ for console and 5$ for handheld iirc didn't see switch or even know there was a switch version.

I thought it might have been from last year, I think it was the only $0.03 game at the store right now. Last year they only had a couple of games that someone else had already bought (if Brickseek was accurate).

Last year I was able to buy 1 game at self checkout since it wasn't in a security case at another location. It's when I went back to a regular register with games in the cases that I had the problem of not being allowed to buy them. Normally my local Walmart stores don't check receipts if an item is in a bag but it seems to depend on the worker.

For whatever reason, I have never been able to buy a game at self-checkout. You ask them to get a game out of the glass case, they walk it up to Electronics and get you to pay for it, or leave it up at their check out area while you shop for more. That has just been my experience.

When I attempted to buy a couple of 3 cent games last year, they made a big fuss before allowing me to...even after they acknowledged the price on the app. Their attitude was "this must be wrong". Again,as I said, I've never been able to pay for a game at self-checkout. They always ask me to pay at Electronics. And no, I don't think I look like a thief. :)

Yeah that's how it's always been for me as well when a game has is locked in the case. Usually all the games not locked in the glass case are in the individual security cases but for some reason a few weren't (only 1 game was $0.03, Sin and Punishment for Wii). That was the only reason I was able to get to self checkout with it. At Target I will bring security case games to self checkout and have the employee there open them up after they are scanned but I guess that's different since I don't have to worry about them not allowing the sale of a regular clearance game.

I had two different checkout people at two different stores look at the price when taking the game out of the security box and refuse to sell them. It gets much worse, but I don't have the time to type the store at the moment.

they ignore you. they are generally unhelpful and incompetent.

handle them however you'd like.

I always start off nice and friendly but then lose patience almost instantly.
Yeah, I've dealt with customers like you. All nice and smiles at first and the moment things don't go their way start calling me a bitch.

Yeah, not sure why Sephiro said "none of us here had problems" getting the 3-cent price to be honored. Just the opposite, as I recall, from numerous posts here last year. People were seeking advice on how to actually get the price honored. I went through most of the posts during the "3 Cent Experience", so no idea where he's getting that impression that no one had any issues. People here reported plenty of issues.

I went back to my local Walmart tonight, and they had pulled the 100 or so games that were sitting in the clearance section last week from the sales floor. I asked the associate at the electronics counter what happened, and she said that they sent them all back to corporate. I assume this means that they will eventually be sold online or something, but that was perhaps the most asinine thing that I had ever seen...since last week when they overrode the prices on the $3 games to mark them back up to MSRP.
In this case, the store you went to sent them to claims. They get processed and sent back to a distribution warehouse while the store gets credited money for them.

All the Walmarts around me dropped Fire Emblem Conquest and Birthright to $19.

Conquest: https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=48173943

Birthright: https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/?sku=48173944
Same by me. I already have these but these are great prices as they are only bound to go up as the game goes out of print.

I also had an issue at self-checkout with some $0.03 games but that was because they were M-rated and required an override. Employee stopped the sale as soon as she saw the price.

If you can go there and not feel too slimy, Google “slickdeals Walmart 3 cent games” and that should get you what you need.

I did not recall FIFA 14 being on the list, but I remember finding a crap ton of FIFA 11 and 12.

Was referring to the "would they stop you going out the door". If they stop you during the transaction that is different. They have the right to refuse sale. If you have them in a bag with a receipt in hand, they can't do shit.

True, unless you let them. I don't remember who it was, but I recall (if I remember right) someone here telling the story of how on the way out of the store the receipt checker saw the prices, took the games off of them, and then they went along with the situation as the staff made them return the games.

Thank you 1888. I wish they were that low around me. Cheapest is 53% off in the $40 range and $70 for the larger one.
I’d chance it for $20 ish. The reviews for it are atrocious though.
Just FYI prices dropped again seems to be about $20 at a good chunk of Walmart’s now

I had a Word doc of most of them saved, but it seems to have disappeared into the ether. I can redo it and post what I have a little later.

Pretty sure that was Jhingles.

Ah, that makes sense. I misread it as you were referring to using self check out.

Negative. I checked all colors, there is one store with one color for that price, the white one for $21. All other colors and all stores are full price within 100mi for me.

In this case, the store you went to sent them to claims. They get processed and sent back to a distribution warehouse while the store gets credited money for them.
The funny thing is that the majority of them were priced between $19.99 and $29.99. But that explains why they were so hard-pressed to get rid of them.

Has anyone actually picked up Splatoon at $9?  I'm skeptical after seeing a bunch of wii u games showing 19 on brickseek at certain locations and they ring up $60 anyway

I did, I printed out the UPC and checked it at a price check machine to make sure it was $9 before getting an employee to unlock the case and get the game.
