Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

Crazy prices. Seems like that walmart is just fine clearancing things to hell to make room for new ones.

I got the FFVII Remake intergrade for 25 and thought it was a good price. I would def pickup deathloop for 10$ even only being minimally interested, FE 3 houses for 15 is a steal, and Scarlet Nexus for 5 as well.

I have a walmart near me that refuses to discount games. The electronics lead literally 'argued' with me that the store manager doesn't allow markdowns because if affects their bonus. I found clearance games tagged from 9/2021 marked down $1 and haven't been touched for the last six months.

DKTF for $24 isn't half bad. Replicant for $20 is also decent.
Yeah, I'd kill to find Replicant at that price. Been looking since I missed the surprise Black Friday price but it's stayed at $29.99-$39.99 (new retail) everywhere I've looked.

There is one that is aggressive in not discounting games. It if gets too low, like the October $2-$7 clearance games, they will box it up and send it out.

They tossed Triangle strategy in the clearance bin because they don't have room for certain games.

Its crazy to me because I see all these photos here where they blatantly put them out on clearance with the big yellow stickers for 10-20$

The only big yellow stickers I see around me are either on garbage games, or "mild" discounts, i.e 20-30% off retail, never like like 80-90% off. Got lucky with the clearance games that were unmarked and pretty widespread though (i.e. NSW indivisible, ps5 pathless, dmc 5, etc.) about a month or two ago, but its been dry since then. Only "decent at best" deals that I've come across.

I've been noticing a lot of the big yellow stickers being used but not actually marking anything down.  It usually happens with the collectibles but sometimes with video games, it makes you think they're being marked down but you look at the price and they're still the same price they were before.

I typically see discounts by me with those stickers, but its nothing amazing. i.e. I saw a super mario party for 28 and astral chain for like... 35?

Recently saw some new Switch clearance. Nothing of interest to me, but Xenoblade DE for 25, Trials of Mana for 17, Star Wars Pinball for 9, Xcom 2 for 10.

I keep seeing a bunch of the games you guys keep mentioning in the "going on clearance soon queue" (the bottom of the case with no price tags) but they're never actually on clearance  :cry: stop blueballing me Walmart

I would normally say go to the next closest Wal-Mart and things would be different but gas prices are fucking crazy so...

I can’t imagine doing the road trip I did a few months back during the $2-4 national walmart clearance. I hit about ten stores in several states in my travels.

Unless you have an electric car. If I had one, I would be an unbearable asshole now.

300 or so miles between charges dont get you that far
Not to mention all those inconvenient facts, like:

1. Many of the rare raw materials, like nickel and lithium, we don't produce, increasing dependence on China & Russia.
2. Electric cars will be powered, primarily, by coal fired power plants at present.
3. Electric car batteries are all but useless in extreme temp environments, especially cold.
4. You can't touch a decent EV for less than 40k and there are no realistically comparable options for larger EV's

Also the big green killer is the batteries that power these things are not able to be recycled and considered toxic waste...

Not to take this further off topic, but there was a fairly recent study showing another massive issue with electric vehicles which was of course under-reported.

The additional weight of EVs means they actually end up releasing more particulates (pollution) into the air through things like tire and brake wear. Due to this they could be considered less green than a regular gasoline powered automobile. This not only causes costs to the consumer (have to get new brakes and tires more often) but it generates more waste as well. You can expect at least a thousand pounds of additional weight for an electric vehicle so obviously there's going to be disadvantages to dragging all that weight around. While there are some obvious advantages to having an electric vehicle, subsidies, and frankly propaganda has obscured the real pros and cons.

As a city car, that's more than enough. You can't do long roadtrips with a electric car yet.

1) Yeah

2) Yeah, but that can change.

3) Not useless but not optimal.

4) Yeah. Normally I'll say used EV's have come down but all used cars are crazy now.

The REAL pros and cons of the boomerbrained rant THEY don't want you to know!
If you expect to be taken seriously, which I suspect you do not, you really should try listing some of these strawman arguments.

Or, even better, try arguing any of the points actually made.

BTW, I know you said boomer-brained, but to be a boomer, one needs be 57 or older. I certainly am not.

My local wal-marts absolutely don't offer anything like these clearance prices - they still have PS4/XB1 games that 5yrs+ and older, still at full price.

I'm legitimately wondering what people are trying to do with this conversation. Is this really a discussion about whether EV's are bad when talking about Walmart sales deals?

Well, I can't speak to the motivations or intents of others.

From my own point of view, I started off quoting someone about how clearance searches might be different if they had an EV. My responses ARE designed to illustrate that EV's are NOT green or better for the environment overall. To say EV's are good or bad is trite and reductive.

It is a complicated and nuanced topic.

Ok. I just wonder where a "complicated and nuanced" topic such as this can even go from here on this particular topic.

Seems like something better discussed in the vs. forum.

Found a stack of The World Ends with you Neo for $16. Though when I checked out the price jumped to 50 and they had to manually adjust it then replaced the price tag

Your responses have nothing to do with their effect on the environment or whatever "green" is, it's a bunch of geopolitical and historical gripes and asides about cost. What points are you even trying to make? Do you even know? Why should we care?

This is why people don't or shouldn't want to have a debate with you. In a thread on a forum on the internet about Walmart clearance deals on video games. lol.

Mods. Cleanup on Aisle 4.

I went to my local Walmart and saw the placeholder for Kirby for $60. Felt bad man. I hope this isn’t the end of $50 new release Switch games at Walmart.
