*Only including Wii games that have been announced.

I couldn't come up with 10 must buys at the moment...they just haven't shown enough.

1. Mario Galaxy
2. Metroid Prime 3
3. Super Smash Bros Brawl
4. Mario Kart Wii

That's it for day one guaranteed buys, I'll be keeping an eye on Nights, No More Heros, Zak and Wiki and some others, but none of them are screaming mustbuy to me at this point.

Guitar Hero III is a must buy, but I'll just pick up the game only version on the PS2 since I already have 2 controllers for it.

they don't have to be must buys right now, just games that you're looking forward to coming out. Some of the games on my list could turn out crappy but I'm looking forward to them since they could turn out to be must buys.

1. Tales of Symphonia 2
2. SSBB
3. Metroid Prime 3
4. Mario Galaxy
5. Mario Kart
6. Fire Emblem
7. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Crystal Bearers
8. Tomb Raider Anniversary
9. No More Heroes
10. Nights

Soul Calibur Legends and Battalion Wars 2 are my runners up. Also, I'm getting GHIII for the 360, so I didn't include it on this list.

Edit: Oops, I completely forgot about Umbrella Chronicles and Dragon Blade, oh well they would be low on my list anyway.

List Updated:

1. Endless Ocean
2. Mario Kart Wii
3.Wii Fit
4.Wii Music

7. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
8. Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis(if they add anything new)
9. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
10. Bob Ross: Wii like to paint happy trees

Bob Ross was announced so it should count right?

Good idea, this will end up more varied than if it was "top 3-5."

1. Battalion Wars 2
2. Mario Galaxy
3. No More Heroes
4. Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn
5. Mario Kart Wii
6. Guitar Hero III
7. Tales of Symphonia: KoR
8. Zack & Wiki
9. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
10. Metroid Prime 3/SSBB (so people don't berate me for not having them on my list  - otherwise would have been Trauma Center 2)

Top 10? That's going to be tough.... all I can think of are two games I'm looking forward to right now on the Wii:

1. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
2. Super Mario Galaxy

ihadFG,

Never heard of No more heroes. Looked it up on IGN and looks like it could be good. Kind of like a Hitman / GTA game.

Might be a long time til we see TOS2 in the US. It mentioned a Tales of Innocence for DS coming out sometime, who knows if it will be released here though.

dmaul,
Yea, no point in trying to fill out the list if not interested in that many games. You picked out the ones that are almost sure to be hits.

Yep. Very little time for games these days, so I pretty much try to stick to the AAA games. And I have pretty limited/narrow gaming interests as is.

If it's coming out for the wii then it would count. I know I look forward to a lot of multiplatform games.

Yeah, but I'm also looking forward to it on other platforms. I dunno. I think of lists like these as "Why you should buy the Wii" lists as well for some reason, which is why I tend to not count games like GHIII.

1) Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
2) Super Mario Galaxy
3) Super Smash Brothers Brawl
4) Mario Kart Wii
5) Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn
6) Battalion Wars 2
7) Tales of Symphonia: Ratatoskr no Kishi
8) Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
9) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers
10) No More Heroes

This was hard as hell to come up with 10 games, as I had to see what IGN had listed to see what looked interesting enough to list.

1. Metroid Prime 3
2. Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution
3. Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
4. Super Mario Galaxy
5. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008
6. Mercury Meltdown Revolution
7. DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3
8. Bleach: Shattered Blade
9. Mario Kart Wii
10. NBA Live 08

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, the Naruto or Bleach fighters, or Smackdown vs. Raw 08.

5. Sadness (Haven't heard anything about this one for a while)

Out of curiosity (and boredom), I decided to see what the list would look like if it were more weighted (ie, your number 1 choice gets 10 points, number 10 gets 1 point).

Some interesting things to note:
- Although tied in the other point system, there's actually a higher demand for Brawl over Mario Kart
- Every game in the top 10 is a continuation of a previous franchise
- Despite the big presentation at E3, it doesn't look like too many people are clamboring for Wii Fit
- There doesn't appear to be a lot of interest in Wii-makes (Bully, Table Tennis, Lego Star Wars)

1) Super Mario Galaxy - 177
2) Super Smash Brothers Brawl - 174
3) Mario Kart Wii - 143
4) Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 110
5) Tales of Symphonia: Ratatoskr no Kishi - 57
6) Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles - 50
7) Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn - 47
8) Battalion Wars 2 - 46
9) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers - 37
10) Nights: Journey of Dreams - 30
11) No More Heroes - 28
12) Endless Ocean - 26
13) Wii Fit - 19
14) Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - 18
15) Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games - 14

17) Dewy's Adventure - 12
17) Manhunt 2 - 12
17) Mercury Meltdown Revolution - 12
17) Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - 12

Very interesting. I wasn't bored enough to do that but it does highlight some things.

I think there are plenty of people interested in Wii Fit but just not among CAG members. I think games like wii fit (if it can be called a game) probably fit more among the abnormal gamers that Nintendo is trying to bring into the fold. I doubt we get a good representation of the group at CAG.

As for game sequels topping the list, I don't think it's too surprising. People know the series and if they like the original or one of the earlier sequels then they are more likely to anticipate the next edition in the series. Entirely new games have more of a chance to pass under the radar until they are released.

Plus, a lot of companies seem to rather continue a series than start up a new game from scratch. It's the play it safe world.

Yeah, I meant to qualify my point with "among established gamers." I still think Wii Fit will sell very well, despite the (apparent) lack of interest here.

As far as sequels go, it's a bit surprising. I think if the same list were created for the 360 and PS3, you would see quite a few more titles in the top 10 that are new IP's. For example, off the top of my head: Mass Effect, Too Human, Two Worlds, LittleBigPlanet, Army of Two, Lair, Heavenly Sword.

Good point, microsoft and sony are getting more new IPs. Nintendo is well known for reusing a popular IP over and over again or even branching an IP into multiple IPs.

I think Nintendo really needs to work better with 3rd party developers in order to get an influx of brand new IPs that are exclusive to the Nintendo console. It would nice if the new IP was an RPG or flight action, which seems to be an area that is lacking outside of a couple games for each.

1. Super Mario Galaxy
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
3. Mario Kart Wii
4. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
5. Resident Evil: UC

That's all folks.

06. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
