i havent played either and cant find the demo on the marketplace
but is there a big difference between the two?
i want to get the first but feel as if i might as well buy the second, but i would like to get my girlfriend a ps1 game and if i get the first one i still have enough

any thoughts?

Unless you have just a PSP Go, the retail release of part 2 includes 1 on the UMD.

If you're going PSN only, just get the first one to test the waters... it's not a game for everyone, not even close.

For PSN you can go for first one,that will give you the better resul than Two.

I'd try the demo.. just the other day I picked up 1 and gave it about a half hour of my time and got confused on how to pass the 4th tutorial stage. (I'd hatch a lizard and have a ton of slime running around and then nothing would happen)

Then again.. maybe I'm stupid?

this game is hard, and very frustrating, but i guess its my cup of tea.

If youre only going to buy one, Id actually go with the second. There were quite a few improvements that made it more accessible. Its still frustrating at times, but not as bad as the first.
