What do CAGs look for when choosing a credit card?

I was looking for advice on what credit card to apply for and was wondering how everyone here makes that decision. I know I will only use it for minor purchases such as gas, food, etc to establish credit. I will be paying it on time every month. Any recommendations or advice?

Decent cashback rewards.

Low interest rate if you might carry a balance with it. Decent rewards program (I heart my Sony card) if not.

Avoid BoA like the plague.

I have an Amazon Visa Platinum personally, as I buy from Amazon a lot--especially since getting a Kindle last spring.
