What do most people use computers for?

Web browsing, music playback, word processing, primarily. The only gaming I do is PC-only gaming (Minecraft, Terraria are the only standouts. Used to play CS:S and DoD:S).

I turne on my pc last week to start backing up my DVDs; I hadn't turned it on in 6 to 7 mos. I use my iPad now...for two things: web browse and porn :cool:
 
Wow. I just realized how much I use my computers. :/

-Work (software development)
-Homework (more software development)
-Watching movies
-Listening/organizing/collecting music
-Photo printing/editing
-Shopping
-Paying Bills
-Random Browsing
-Hacking/modding what gadget I have

I'd say that on a normal day, I spend about 10 hours on the computer, about 3 of those hours I spend working, and maybe 2 on homework. Although lately since I've been on school vacation, I've been putting in 10 hour days. So 10 hours plus the other random 5 hours I normally put in. My schedule has been: work, eat, sleep, repeat. It's terrible, but what else can I do? I have to work and do schoolwork on the PC. And I'm stuck at school during winter break, meaning that I'm one of 5 people in the whole town. (And seeing my girlfriend 24/7 just drives me mad. Everybody needs a break.)

- Photoshop
- Gaming
- Word processing
- Online classes

That pretty much sums it up. I could go into further detail, but you get the gist of it.
 
Homework, Check Work Schedule, Music for my MP3 player, Money Related Stuff, and internet. Lately my nearly 4 year old HP Dv9000 is been driving me crazy sound is off, it burns out in 30 mins and the cd burner works half of the time.

Actually I use my computer for making art; that's its #1 purpose.
 
1. Work. Stats analysis software and MS office programs mainly.

2. E-mail and web surfing--I do most of that on my iPad or iPhone these days though, other than while at work.

3. Other random tasks like storing my music and digital photos etc.
 
Web Browsing
Downloading Movies/TV/Music/eBooks
Converting video files to DVD
Streaming video files to my 360/PS3

And that's about it.
