The MVC2 demo is disappointing if you don't have anyone to play against, but just seeing the logo in my game list makes me all kinds of stoked.

Although I knew it was local only, I still hoped that maybe it would auto-select the 2P so I could at least play it to some extent.
Are you surprised that it only has local multiplayer?
I'm not surprised, but I hoped Capcom would learn that hey, you know, maybe some people don't have another person they can play with.

Another week of garbage fluffed up to look like genuinely worthwhile content thanks to the a la carte appearance of 99-cent Disgaea bullshit.

EDIT: I don't know how Sony can convince the public to buy a DD-only gaming console (PSP Go) when they can't even make a console DD service look good when there are disc-based options available. Would you really take a look at the PSN Store offerings and actually be DUMB ENOUGH to think that this is a viable *singular* means for which you would find games for a system?
That was a beta, not a demo, so it doesn't count.
True. The demo kind of blows. I don't really have any friends that plays fighters. I wish it was arcade mode instead.

Weak sauce on the MvC2 demo, I don't even have a second controller. I don't mind it being local, but I was hoping it would at least have a couple of rounds of arcade mode in there.
Has any fighting game demo ever had online play?
I think the complaint is that there's no single-player. Multi only.

I guess Frisky and I were the only ones on the internet who knew it was local only just like HD Remix.

That's why I charged my second controller last week.
I think the complaint is that there's no single-player. Multi only.
I know. I was just asking if there was a demo with online play before for a fighting game since I couldn't think if there was precedence for that.

I don't know why they just copied their SSF2THDR demo strategy and screw over those that may not have friends to play at a whim. At least, I can see the full game not coming out for a month or so, so there's time to have friends over and enjoy the demo at some point before then.

Yeah, i figured it would be a normal vs. mode where you could set up matches vs. the cpu, wasn't expecting it to be strictly 2 player.

Man that MvC2 demo was getting gangbanged the hell out of when I went to download.. was crawling compared to the KZ2 map pack at around 8est tonight.
Has any fighting game demo ever had online play?
I don't believe so, but in Soul Calibur you could fight the CPU.

thanx for the cut and paste list gunm but frisky's is much easier on the eyes. Add me to the disappointed crowd who has no one to play some MvC2 demo with :(
A very hyped PSN game. It's single-player mode is called "Play With Yourself" in its main menu.
Trophies or no play!

wow... this going to piss off Myke... alot...

on top of Japan beating the shit out of the the US with PS1 classics, starting today Sony has a show you can download on the PSN store called Game Diggin where it's a 20 min show (there's two shows right now on the PSN) of two guys playing or talking about PS1 games available on the PSN.

I just watched the first show (skimmed it a bit) and it pisses me off >_
Every game that's coming out this year has trophies.*

* - Except for Afro Samurai and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.
And Battle Fantasia (in the UK)
:(

I honestly just want to beat the shit (literally, not figuratively) of whomever is in charge of things at SCEA - and then I'll be over it.

I know I'll never get my way, and that we'll get like 5 titles this year at the very most. I'm fortunate in that I am semi-literate, so I can at least play and enjoy the JPN games.

I'm no longer bothered by the lack of support, but I do think that the persons who have failed at this deserve to have the shit kicked out of 'em. And I don't mean a slap in the face, I mean "aggravated assault."

But thanks for the headsup, rero. I'll check those out later tonight.

Puzzle Quest Galactrix finally comes out on PSN this week.

And the PSOne on PSN drought continues for Myke to wage his one-man war against SCEA!

that was posted a while ago and Myke his already said his part.

I'd rather them say nothing and we get something rather than what has been happening.

Don't worry though, after E3 all looks good ;)

I did enjoy the Game Diggin' videos, FWIW.

I should thank SCEA for helping me brush up on my Japanese, since I hadn't really studied/done much with it in years. Now I kinda have to. Thanks, yeh lazy fucks!

The first video had that crazy monster attack city underground thing... that looks like a badass game... anyone know the name?
aitsu?
I don't know the name... it just looked cool... the two hosts seemed so happy when they killed that last monster who snuck into their base.
Trophies or no play!
May I politely ask why? I think it's great that achievements and trophies motivate people to do more and explore more in games, but it baffles me that someone would deny a game a chance simply because it lacks them.

Anyone else having a really slow time downloading of psn. trying to dl some demos, but painfully slow. Like 1MB every minute or so. that slow

nvm it only seems to be for one particular demo, the others work fine.

It was a joke if you didn't follow it from the last page.

OK. I don't check this thread that often, that just popped up into my RSS feed. Leave it to Gamespot to report on old news.
