What's in the PS Store (5/31/16): Neon Chrome, Oxenfree, Primal, There Came an Echo, Plague Inc, & More!
Very much so. I still own the original version, but I'm buying this to support good PS1 games on PSN and to have it on my PSP.
Are all PS1 titles available on the PSN able to be played on both the PS3 and PSP? Or is this determined on a game-by-game basis?

Thus far, they are all playable on both systems. In Japan, a few of the games are one system or the other. The Armored Core games can't be played on PSP while the Arc the Lad casino game is only playable on PSP. That said, I don't know what happens if you, for example, try to transfer Armored Core from the PS3 to your PSP and play it.

So when did Sony change the way they add funds to your account on PSN? It seems like you can't add the correct amount if it's over $5 anymore.

Been like that for a while

You can always just buy what you need instead of adding funds

Just bought some stuff and it worked the same as it always has for me.

UK store is updated with nothing really to note. There's a Just cause 2 demo on there, but otherwise nothing to cheer. Back to playing MLB.

Just got an email...
Qore is finally coming with something decent, the Heavy Rain dynamic theme. Just in time for my subscription to run out.
Hopefully it a sign that they got the picture and will start including dynamic themes instead of plain ones with Qore.

will you need to have a subscription to get the theme or is it like some of those ps1 games where you could buy that months qore and get the free dl?

From email
Episode 22 will feature a dynamic theme from the innovative new game
Heavy Rain(R), free for all Qore subscribers. For those of you familiar
with the game, the theme takes place at the crime scene with
patrolling officers, police cars, rainfall (naturally!) and
ARI-inspired icons.
So I guess you need to be a subscriber... also, it sounds like it may be different than the previous one...

I really wish Warhawk had at least some kind of token single player mode. I've been interested in the game for ages (loved the PS1 original back in 1996ish) but I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on any game that is strictly multiplayer.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Dynamic Theme??? Whoo hoo!

Might try JC2 on PS3, but I'm probably going to stick w/360 for that one...

Just a quick heads-up for those interested in a free dynamic theme: The "make.believe" theme is actually dynamic, even though it's not listed as such on the PlayStation blog update. It's nothing mind-blowing, though, as it just a bunch of words flashing on the screen. At least the US finally received a free dynamic theme...

JC2 is a good time. The PS3 version is ok. Need to compare it with 360, although currently I'm pre-ordered for 360.

Tried the JC2 Demo. I'm not really sure what to think of the game right now. The game play seems like it could get old pretty fast...

it could be a fun game but i dont like the way the grapple dealy works you it took me a while to figure out you have to hit the button 2 times quick to connect and then zip . i also hate the way its used as a mele weapon the parachuting could be fun though depending on the settings. i think it would look better as a cell shaded cartoon too since its got a cartoony feel to it.

I loved the JC2 demo. It felt complete open, without the overwhelming sense of indirection I get from most open world games. Plus it was just fund doing crazy stuff.

I caused mass chaos in a mountain village, and then during the getaway, ghost-rode my jeep off a cliff, launch my parachute, floated to road need base of mountain, landed on a truck, jacked it, and drove x-country to the next village.

I only played for 30 mins, but found myself thinking about the game for the rest of the day. I find with the GTA games, I generally just stick to story, but I got the feeling that I would actually just enjoy doing random shit in this game.

I have a love/hate with the grapple. It feels too much like a super-hero gadget, yet you are a normal person fighting normal people; it feels out of place. Having said that, it is very fun to use.

played the just cause demo, fun stuff, grabbed a helicopter and started wrecking stuff like red faction
the parachute and hook at anytime let things get pretty chaotic
this game hadn't been on my radar, but now I will be checking reviews. I had a lot of fun with saints row 2, slowly controlling the entire city and building up my status. Hope this game has similar hooks

I just played the Just Cause 2 demo aswell. The game isn't that bad. It's alot like Red Faction, Mercenaries, and Saints Row. I wish the demo would let you play for more than 30 mins, rather than just exiting you out, and having to start all over.

Thanks for the list. Keep the updates coming!

The Japanese store added 6 or 7 PSOne games. I can't remember the names of some of them (nothing noteworthy, I think, though they added PCE Alien Crush around 2-3 weeks back), but they have finally started to include the PSOne "Simple Series." A line of budget titles, some of which were very good. Anyway, point is, the Simple Series PSOne Classics cost ¥300 ($2.99) each.

They had 4 yesterday...A bowling game, a pachinko game, a block game (Arkanoid style) and something called the "Sound Novel."
im surprised they havent made any anime girl dynamic themes yet youd think the jp psn would be dirty with them.
I agree. Of course they'd have to be better than that Sports Illustrated crap they put out last week. I'm glad whoever purchased it put it up to show that it's just images with transitions. There're better free ones out there.

Not sure if this will help with your decision but the video capture feature in JC2 is exclusive to the PS3.

Looks like the RE5 Add-ons will be on sale, barely, for tomorrow:

Players can download this exciting digital package on Xbox Live today, Wednesday March 10th, for 960 Microsoft points. It will be available tomorrow on PlayStation Network, Thursday March 11th, for $12.50 USD. It includes both the LOST IN NIGHTMARES and DESPERATE ESCAPE DLC episodes, as well as two alternate costume packs that will give players plenty of incentive to replay the entire RE5 campaign over and over again.
I believe the costume packs are $2 each, so it's a $1.50 off if you really care about the costumes. The bundle won't help anyone that just wants the episodes. It's also more expensive on PSN since the bundle is only $12 on XBL.

Looks like it:

Just take a look at all you get for one incredible purchase price of $49.99, wrapped nicely in special gold foil packaging:
New Episodes

LOST IN NIGHTMARES
Only previously viewed during cut scenes of Resident Evil, now play through the events leading up to the moment Chris Redfield thought he lost his partner forever. Play as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine and journey back to the infamous Spencer Mansion from the original Resident Evil. Try and solve its treacherous puzzles and search to uncover the secrets held inside.

DESPERATE ESCAPE
A fatigued but rescued Jill has collapsed. Awoken by BSAA agent Josh Stone, play through their desperate escape from the Tricell facility, fighting off unrelenting waves of enemies in heart pumping blockbuster action as they race to assist Chris and Sheva in their final showdown with Albert Wesker.

Costume Packs 1 and 2:
Players can experience Resident Evil 5 in a whole new way with four new character costumes which allow additional playability through both gameplay and cut scenes.

THE MERCENARIES REUNION

A new refresh of Mercenaries Mode, The Mercenaries Reunion brings 8 new playable characters and weapon load outs into the fray, providing players with additional challenges as they aim to shoot down as many enemies as they can within a limited time. Chain together your kills, extend your time and rack up the points. Featuring the most extreme weapon selections, The Mercenaries Reunion provides hours of new strategy induced kill sprees.

Versus

Take control of Chris, Sheva and other Resident Evil 5 favorites in online battles of up to four players. Fight along or in a team in four different varations.

Extra Figures

You thought your collection was done? Feast your eyes on some nice new figurines to acquire.

Can't answer the versus thing, but as far as I'm concerned buying a $20 copy of vanilla RE5 plus the 2 $10 dlc episodes ($5 a piece for me since it was a gameshare with my nephew) was worth it, waiting for RE5: Gold for $40 not worth it.

Just like I'm waiting for Batman AA GotY to come out so I can finally get vanilla AA cheap, some GotY editions blow and aren't worth getting (or holding out on buying the vanilla editions) because of the lame content included or the major price difference. Speaking of that, from what I read the Batman AA GotY edition comes with some pretty lame extras on it, not worth getting in my opinion. So I'll patiently wait for my sub-$20 copy of vanilla AA in the next few months.

I bought the Star Wars TFU Sith Edition, and it was cheaper than spending the money on the dlc (not just the costume packs, but also the 3 extra missions) but as short as they were I enjoyed them but they weren't worth $30 seperately, considering I only paid $30 for that version to begin with.

Little Big Planet GotY and Fallout 3 GotY are the only two I'm waiting for a decent price on since the extra content I believe it worth the price, since otherwise they are cost prohibitive, if you just buy the dlc at regular price.

Some of the double dipping or GotY editions are worth it, but usually they aren't, I bought the RE5 ones for my brother and me, since we play co-op all the time, and he enjoyed desperate struggle more than lost in nightmares, but we still had fun and for $5 a piece I believed that were worth that since I gameshared it to offset the cost it made it worthwhile.

I guess if you don't have a situation like that then the disc based versions might be worth it. Or if you have to have them on disc for convenience or d/l speed issues (which is always a concern for me being on dsl)

Anyway that's my long winded thoughts on the subject.

lol good rant and its true it is better to wait though i dont expect there to be a goty edition of uncharted 2 so far their dlc has been pretty fairly priced. im also waiting to get that sith edition of sw cheap i had the first version ( got it super cheap at gc) and was able to trade it for more than it was worth.

id like to try those other missions but the dlc was way too expensive. once it hits 20 or less im on it. makes you wodner if more people catch onto them doing this will they stop making goty editions?or maybe include less stuff in each goty edition?

If you have a Sears nearby, it is definitely worth checking out for Fallout 3 GotY. They are only selling it for $19.xx.

I haven't seen any good deals for LBP GotY unfortunately.
