Whats the worst game you have ever played thread.
No one hasn't mentioned Sonic for ps3/360. Besides being garbage it was extremely glitchy if nothing else.
I'm going to have to disagree with you. Sonic is a great game. People just don't understand it.
I'm going to have to disagree with you. Sonic is a great game. People just don't understand it.
I knew you would reply on this matter. I know its one of the main jokes of the ggt about it being good when it isn't.

Worst game to me in the PS2 era: State Of Emergency

That game was one giant escort mission, when all you really wanted to do was join the rioters in the game in smashing and grabbing shit.;)

2Xtreme for PSone. It was just incredibly stupid. I spent my birthday money on it when I was a kid, and to this day I'm not sure if I've ever felt as ripped off as I did with that game.

The first Assasin's Creed. I wanted to go in order, and it ALMOST made me consider never giving another AC game a chance again. It took FAR too long for business to pick up. Considering how I loved the later ones only cements how much I disliked that game. Man, I would join a support group if I had to play some of the games listed...

Golden Shower Studios make me laugh
but this looks bloody awful
Sadly I bought it (well my mom technically). I think games were crazy expensive back then too. I did the exact same as you, I couldn't get past those rings and ended up cheating to get to another level and I still dreaded playing it. Thank god my mom was able to return it to EB

I don't care what anyone else says Superman 64 is the correct answer. If you don't believe me, just watch:

i dont think theyve ever made a good superman game. nearest thing ive seen that came close to letting you feel like superman ( even though you cant be him ) is that dc mmorpg thats been going on for a while now. i wonder how that games doing btw havent heard much about it since the release.

id also nominate Fear Effect that game was utter shit and its only selling point was a lesbo storyline. 4 disks worth of shit and some of the worst game mechanics ever.

I adored that game. I agree that it was often very frustrating, but the story, especially in the last section, made it a very worthwhile experience.

Mind you, the major homoerotic storyline apparently took place in Fear Effect 2, which I didn't play and cannot speak to the quality of.

Devil May Cry 2 and Doom 3 were both major letdowns for me. Also Deus Ex 2 and Silent Hill 4.

Hey I liked fear effect! I think when it came out it was one of the first games to have that cartoony 3d look. The worst PS3 game for me is Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll. With the nice graphics, this game sucks.

So just beacuse people say they hate ET you think most people haven't played it? LOL
Maybe it was better than i remember but i remember it being pretty crappy, having no direction , and no instructions which is death for a game with that shitty of graphics. I owned it and don't think i got passed the 2nd or 3rd screen. I might have only been like 3 or 5 years old but i don't remember having problems like that with too many other games. The game just didn't make much sense, i remember pits and some string floating.

et was shit i played it and spent alot of time trying to figure out that piece of shit till i finally gave up. theres a reason why theres a landfill full of et carts.

ET was like Super Mario Bros. for me. Once you figured out where all of the phone pieces were you could pretty much finish the game in 20 minutes or so. It just required falling into one of the wells or whatever deep enough to see if there was a part in there or not. If not, then just levitate your ass back out of there and find the next one.

One Atari 2600 game I never finished 100% was Raiders Of The Lost Ark. I think I got close a couple of times, but I never did beat that game.

Actually I kinda liked the Atari 2600 Superman game. That was the first game I would do speed runs on. I had it down to like a minute plus.

It was one of the first "open world" games, it spanned quite a few screens of various parts of Metropolis and I got really good at it.

Crysis 2 multiplayer.

Even though I still can't stop playing it. Any more then 2 people in a squad then everything get's fucked. All the people that I knew that played it are now playing MW2.....I don't really understand the switch, but needless to say I'm kinda sad to not be playing with the top 100 players of the game because Crytek refuses to fix any problems, and then to just delete our posts from the MyCrysis forums as well.

Don't even get me started on the DLC map packs that no one plays.
Oh GOD! And how could I forget Big Rigs- Over the Road Racing for the PC?!? My "friend" bought that game for me as a joke, I later found out. In one of those rare "This game is SOOO bad, it's CLASSIC bad", situations. Look this one up on youtube. Good god that game was broken to the point you would play it just to see how much WORSE it can get. A freaking semi-truck racing game where your opponent never actually moves? Yeah, it's got that. It also has a semi-truck that can drive up mountains! We are talking about 90 degree mountain sides...also, it can magically drive THROUGH buildings and bridges. So when you come to a bridge, you actually drive THOUGH the bridge, go down the river bank....through the water and then drive back up the opposite side and through the bridge again. Also, you can do 1000 mph turns on a dime! PLEASE watch this video if you really want to see something funny!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mB1zWEhgrLs
I remember seeing that and watching videos of it. One of the funniest games I have ever seen and its pretty clear that the devs didn't pony up 1 dollar for any QA testers.
------------------------------

As for worst game I've ever played? Possibly mentioned, but Batman Dark Tomorrow was just horrible. Couldn't play for more then 10 minutes before I threw it on the shelf never to be played or touched again. Makes me throw up in my mouth repeatedly everytime I think about it

Damn...

well there's really two, I dunno, ways to look at this. There's "worst game you ever played" and "game you most regret spending money on".

For example, the worst game I ever played was probably Warp Speed on the Genesis. Seriously, just go try the rom for like a minute and you'll see what's up. It's unplayable, it makes no sense, and it simply shouldn't exist in its current state. But the kicker is that I never paid for Warp Speed to its awfulness is more of a novelty than anything else.

On the other hand, there is the worst game I ever paid decent money for and that honor would go to Enter the Matrix. At least one game magazine hyped the game beyond belief right before it came out and I swallowed the preview hook line and sinker. I bought it for $50 as close to launch as possible as I was stationed in Okinawa at the time. It fucking sucks. The combat is repetitive, hard to control, and at times, infuriatingly difficult. There aren't enough ways to describe how disappointed I was that I dropped probably a quarter of my disposable income for that 2 week period on such a turd. I still have it back home too. I should probably burn it or something but it means so much now.
I'm surprised at some of the games that people claim are the worst they ever played.
Granted, the OP also says biggest disappointment.

I honestly have no idea what the worst game I've ever played would be. In recent memory, I'd have to say Two Worlds. I was laughing my ass off about 15 minutes into the game. I don't think that was supposed to happen.

I like the 200 repeated front kicks as his deadly attack. Either a flurry of front kicks or throwing a bunch of jabs until they fall down. What an epic title.
fighting force. (pax)
The first once? I actually really liked the first once... but the second was God awful
The first once? I actually really liked the first once... but the second was God awful
I bought righty force thinking that it was going to be the next streets of rage. I played it for 5 minutes and then took it back to Babbages and told them it didn't work and got my money back. It could have been that my expectations were to high.

That E.T. video doesn't show quite enough of why it's so bad. I'd still like to know why the man in the coat touches you and walks away while the doctor grabs you. Why is there a flower in that pit at times? Why do you die when that counter reaches 0? And why does Elliot walk around for no reason? The only part of E.T. I like is the sound effects of ET, especially when his neck goes up and down and sounds like he's saying "yawn".
Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22. Ugh was that bad we returned the game after 5 hours and I bought Digimon World 2 which was on clearance and 10x better.
I rented Ultimate Battle 22. It's the only time I brought the game back the same day I got it. 20 minutes I'll never get back.
The first Assasin's Creed. I wanted to go in order, and it ALMOST made me consider never giving another AC game a chance again. It took FAR too long for business to pick up. I don't know how far you got, but I couldn't stand the walking missions. The games goes from pushing people away as you walk in a training exercise to walking slower to act like a priest or monk or whatever. Too much walking and running. I was better off watching Lord of the Rings than playing this overrated game.

Which is worse: the punching or the jumping? And to think they actually had a writer from DC pen the story which may have ended up being good.
The first once? I actually really liked the first once... but the second was God awful
I liked the first Fighting Force too ... until I played Level 2 and saw how repetitive it was. The only thing I liked in it was having the choice of which level to go to next.

I will nominate Superman for the NES. On the cover, there's a big picture of Superman. When you reach the title screen, there's a big picture of Superman. When you press start, I saw Donkey Kong Jr. in blue pajamas. That's how small and fat Superman looks for the rest of the game. Worst 87 cents I ever spent. Shame on you for selling this, Gamestop.

I will also mention the NES Wizardry for the sheer fact that I don't know how to start the game. All I saw were customizing screens. I take that back - once I got to the gameplay. Never in my life have I seen so many white lines. From then on, I hated mazes.

For SNES, I will go with Super Wrestlemania. Everyone has the same moveset: Punch, kick, legdrop, run, and climb rope. No special moves or anything.

I also didn't like Populous. Like Wizardry, I didn't understand how you were suppose to play the game.

Last SNES I'll mention is Captain America and the Avengers. I loved the arcade version and thought this would be just like it. Graphics were ok, but the controls were so bad (not Bayou Billy bad but still bad) that I felt bad when my mom paid $60 at Babbages for it at the time.

I can't think of any PS1 titles right away, but I heard the game versions of The Fifth Element and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker are terrible.

For PS2, definitely Devil May Cry. Combat went on for so long that it felt like a chore every time I went into a room and fought enemies.

I was very disappointed with Infamous and its sensitive controls. I was also not fond of using electricity all the time and wanted some hand to hand combat action.
I'm surprised at some of the games that people claim are the worst they ever played.
OP said worst or most disappointing.

Which was a good move because people often confuse the two.

i think alot of fans of the movie got sucked into the hype machine for that game and it was horrible. i only rented it and because we were on a rental plan it wasnt a big loss since i could return it for something else.

did you ever try the second matrix game path of neo i think it was called. that was a better game and you got to experience some of his best fights\

GRANDIA 3 for ps2 will go down as worst RPG ive ever played.
i bought it for 50 bucks and three days later had traded it in , made it to almost the end and couldnt believe how shitty this stupid game is. Its so basic linear and just mediocre in every way

The FBI agent take away a part of your phone, the doctor drags you off for observation. The flower represents Gertie's flower from the movie. If you revive it and run out of energy later in the game, Elliott will revive you. You run out of energy when the counter reaches zero, E.T. is dead. If you call Elliott and give him some of the Reeses Pieces, you'll get more points at the end of the game.

Yea, story sucked pretty badly. I only got a few hours into it and just stopped. Grandia 2 was just too good and my expectations were way too high for the third one.

For me, Worst Game: MGS4. But I guess technically that would be considered Worst Game Ever Watched. If they had added trophies to that game, you should have earned one for every 20 minute movie you sat thru.

Biggest disappointment: GTA: Vice City for PS2. Bought on release day, loved every second of it that I played for about a week until I stumbled upon a glitch on a mission that wouldn't allow me to complete it or proceed further thru the game. Completely ruined it for me. From that day forward, I've always created multiple saves as I progress thru a game just in case...

Come on...

I'm going to agree with Vice City. I got up to the workers rioting and I was bored. And I had more fun listening to the radio on GTA 3 than playing the game after a while.

Mitch, you make more sense than the game. Why couldn't that game have text? And I completely forgot that E.T. had a [ridiculous] points system.

I think you mean, fuck yeah an Aerosmith shooter with your ammo being CD's!!!

And the worst game I have ever played would be every N64 FPS. They all gave me motion sickness.
