Whoa Whoa Whoa My Gamertag (Name) got Banned?!?!

In a little bit i'm going to input some new gamertags and hopefully I can get away with "PimpInc.333". I hope they didn't ban the name Pimp completely. I will post my results in a little bit.
 
I was wondering why you were signing on and off last night. That sucks though. Hopefully you dont have to change it to something too drastic.

Happened twice to me within the past month. basically two weeks after Cheapy D posted about his motto having to be changed.

My name was Damnit Dean. They made me change it so I went to Dangit. Two hours later they made me change it again.

IMO it's just retaliation for my beating people severely on Halo 3. Someone probably filed a complaint to just piss me off. I owned a smack talk clan winning MVP wtwice in a row and then BAM change your name.

I dunno if you were joking or not, but the other day I played CoD4 with a guy whose gamertag was almost that exact thing. lol

In fact I see gamertags in almost every game of CoD I play that are way more vulgar or sexually suggestive than 'pimp' or some of the others that have been banned.
 
this whole xbox live family friendly thing is getting a bit ridiculous. why would microsoft do this when most of the titles played online are "M" rated to begin with? kinda contradictory if you ask me. I can only imagine signing into live one of these days and having to change my name because the word slain is involved with killing.
 
a friends gamertag got banned last week, but with a gamertag like Grandmasp3rm it was only expected, yet his old gamertag BobDolePorn went unbanned for 2+ years

It makes me laugh when you can play a game like Gears of War, Crackdown, or Saint's Row that has a ton of swearing, but you can't have it in your name or motto. When I got my 360 in Dec. 2005, I wanted my motto to be "Goodbye Halo", a quote from the back of the Tribes Aerial Assault box, that my friends and I joke about. I had to space out H a l o just to get it accepted. I wonder when I'll have to change my gamertag.
 
Well I went with the name "Pimpinc33" not too much of a change but it pisses me off none the less. It just doesn't look right to me. Now I play the waiting game to see if this name becomes banned as well.

I have been reporting all of your "offensive" gamer tags to Microsoft because they have offended me greatly. Especially gamer tags with the word 'pimp' in them.

This isn't about filters if you get enough negative reports about your name they ban it. You could have the name John Smith and if enough people report the name as offensive you would be banned.
 
Shit, I wonder when they'll ban my gamertag. How about a name like AnalAtrocity187, BathtubShitter222, or Detective John Kimble.

It happened to my friend three times in one day. He went from (spelling will differ) AutisticPornStar, to PenisButterAndJelly (banned in ten minutes), to MongoloidTrainer (banned in an hour), to finally ABigVeinyPickle. The last has to be the best of them all. He hasn't been banned yet now.

Down Syndrome used to be called "Mongolism" or "Mongolian idiocy" and those with it were called "Mongoloids" due to their supposed similarity in appearance to the Mongoloid race. Of course the -oid racial classification systems are pretty controversial anyway and aren't used much outside of forensics and some prehistoric anthropology anymore.

I hope 'pinthesink' is safe, i just got it a week or so ago, based on a book quote "sometimes you just need to pee in the sink" and when i read it i realized it looks vaguley like "one in the pink, two in teh stink" kind of...

Best of luck in your quest for a new name, but "Pimp" isn't a bad word. THey will let people have the name "Ngr Klr" but you can't have Pimp. Amazing.
