Wholesale prices of video games?

RESmonkey

CAGiversary!
I'm going for an interview at Best buy today, and I hear they give an employee discount of 5% on the wholesale price (price they buy the item at).

I'm wondering if this is good for video game software.

it's something around 40 dollars for a 50 dollar game if i recall correctly.

That sounds about right, I think a retailer marks up the price of a game by $10-13 on average. But it also depends on how much they buy, i.e., if a retailer buys a lot of copies of a game then they'll get a better price.

So a $59.99 dollar game could be anywhere from 45 to 50? Not THAT bad...

And you can always use BB coupons on top, right?

Also, what items do this discount REALLY benefit with? Monster cables?

I was going to say don't buy monster cables, but I hear the mark up is freaking huge, so maybe you can get them for around monoprice prices.

Yeah, Monster cable pride at monoprice price sounds nice. I may have to get some for a friend, though. Har har har...they'll think I bought em a $99+ gift :)
