Why do kids post there age on Youtube music Vids?

About 20 of the music vids i've seen the highest rated comments are of kids posting comments like: "I'm 17 and i like this song." WTF does your age have to do with it?

They mainly do it because they think it makes them look cool liking good music instead of half that new shit they play nowadays.
