Why hasn't Nintendo released more Sports games?

Why haven't they done more with their sports titles? Wii Sports has sold so many copies,wouldn't they make more money by releasing expanded versions of the Wii sports games as individual titles?

Wii Bowling with online play, teams, leagues, and tournaments. Release it for $20-$30, watch it sell millions.
 
Yes, but that's the heart of it. Nintendo doesn't buy into online gaming. They are treating it more of a fad, and treating gaming the same as it was about 10 years ago.

For that matter, Nintendo isn't going to release that many titles in a given year. I think people are a bit spoiled with Wii releases. Sure, a lot of them are garbage, but there are decent games coming out every month or 2 (that are at least worth a look).

So, nice idea, but it just isn't going to happen.
 
We already get those from EA. I want Nintendo to expand upon their sports titles and release them as stand alone games instead of as part of a compilation.

Even if you cut out online a lot of these sports titles can be improved upon in other ways, and they would still likely sell very well.
