Do these have any difference if you just use a normal TV? Sorry, I'm a noob at these kind of things.

On a standard TV you would still notice an improvement in picture quality, such as less bleeding of colors. Also, if you have an EDTV you would be able to get 480p instead on 480i with these cables. Just be sure your TV has component inputs first.

No. I've never seen a third-party Gamecube component cable.

If you can wait for them to come back in stock, these cables also come in black; or get the 4-in-1 Wii/X360/PS3/PS2 cable.
