Will the RE Afterlife steelbook BD play in an American PS3?

Since the steelbook to Resident Evil Afterlife Blu-Ray is only coming out in Canada, I was curious if it would play in an American PS3 because I'm not sure how the regions work and if it is region based.

Canada is the same region as the United States. The only difference is the rating system.

As far as I know, BD is region-free. My American PS3 plays the UK only BD of Equilibrium just fine.

It is not region free. A lot of movies are fine but some are region locked
