Winamp alts? Something basic to listen to MP3s.

Winamp has been driving me crazy lately. Does anyone have a recomendation for free software to listen to MP3s that is light on resource usage? I just need the most basic functionality of it being able to play MP3s. Thanks.

i stopped using winamp too. Right now I'm using "media monkey". So far I like it much better.

Yes, I say foobar2000 is where you should be looking. Great codec support for virtually any other format you can think of as well with its plugin support.

I tried foobar, but it's almost too much work to get it customized the way you want it. I use Media Monkey, and it works well for me.

Foobar looks too simple and media monkey looks a little like iTunes. I like winamp, its middle of the road and it serves its purpose for me.

Agreed with Winamp but I also use Foobar...the only thing is that for now Winamp is easier to stream channels from the PC to TV/Projector for me. Foobar for some reason requires me to make adjustment per channel stream.

I use winamp for my radio stations, vlc for simple watching videos or mp3s and wmp11 for listening to my entire mp3 collection.

I just use Windows Media player or whatever pops up when I double click an mp3.

I would use WMP, but for whatever reason it always has to load up and thus delay the listening experience.
