Is it a known bug that east and west get switched on the sailing compass?

I know it's not really a problem, but I was wondering if anyone knows what causes this, and possibly a fix. The slight annoyance of this destracts a bit from my enjoyment of the game.
 
i never noticed that when i was playing, but the last time i played it was like 3 years ago or whenever it came out.
 
No, east and west do not get switched. You are just stupid.

Compass nedles always point north.

If you are headed west, north is to your right, so that's where the neddle be pointin'.

If you are headed east, north be on your left, so the needle points left of you.

do they even teach in school these day? kids are so dumb
