  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

The Halo MCC is exactly what I wanted, I'll definitely be playing this for a realllll long time. I'm absolutely loving playing all 4 Halos' online in one set, once the server gets fixed I'll be playing pretty much nonstop for a while haha
When you take off the nostalgia glasses and stop being a fan boy, do they still hold up?

I haven't played the campaign and the multiplayer isn't bad, taking so long to get into a match is what is hurting it for me.

I found that Halo 1 and 2 kind of had some janky controls, and graphics in-game were somewhat dated, even the remastered ones. But, the game is still very enjoyable, and a bargain for what we're paying.

This. There is no real excuse for the poor online service, though it is making babysteps. But I feel once all the issues get ironed out (hopefully not in 11 months after launch ala battlefield 4 lol) It's going to be the collection for the ages. Lots of bugs/issues with the campaign that should easily be ironed out, and It's only a matter of time before the servers are fixed. That's the bad part for people who aren't playing MP - the MP matchmaking is their highest priority so I doubt you see many bug fixes in the campaigns for awhile.

I put my copy aside so that my kids could give it to me for Christmas. Hopefully the issues will be ironed out by then.

Question: Anybody know of a place to buy Xbox One games digitally (besides Xbox Live Marketplace)?

I check eBay, the CAG Xbox Trading forum, etc....I keep wondering if I'm missing someplace that sells full Xbox One digital games....

Thanks for the reply. With GameStop, this is still just for Xbox credit, though, right? Not a code for the game itself?

What is this Xbox Live Credit that NewEgg sells here? I mean, they show a picture of a game and a dollar amount, but is the consumer actually buying a code for the game, or just....$60 in Xbox money....? (In which case, why not just say the consumer is only being given an Xbox gift card that has no specific relevance to the game shown whatsoever...?)

Playing Lego Batman 3, got to the Hall of Doom and I heard a familiar voice as Pain Man. If you haven't gotten that far yet, I'll put a spoiler tag if you don't want to know and want to be surprised.

Probably because of the sale.

Why test a game when it's guaranteed to sell millions of copies and you can patch it whenever you feel like it.

As bad as Halo is right now just be happy it's now WoW.
I'm not surprised that MCC is having problems. I had high hopes, but there was no question it appeared too good to be true to have all four multiplayer games working together. I'm sure they all saw it coming at 343i. It's just sad that we seemingly can't have a AAA release go smoothly these days.

So, hooray me, I'm picking up an Xbox One tomorrow on Saturday or Sunday. I know I could find all this out myself with a little time spent with the console, but I've been curious about a few things:

1) Does the playing while downloading the game work on all games? I realize that between EA Access, the Sunset Overdrive code, auctions I won, GwG games, etc. nearly everything I'll own is digital, so I'll have to download hundreds of GBs on my first times and I would like to play in the process.

2) There is no way to DVR anything outside of the games, right? So no dashboard, or recording from the secondary HDMI cable, is this correct?

3) Do games download at all times, or do they stop when you're playing multiplayer like on X360?

That's all for now, thanks in advance to who may answer.

3) Do games download at all times, or do they stop when you're playing multiplayer like on X360?

That's all for now, thanks in advance to who may answer.
1) No, you'll have to download the full thing to play. Disc games will sometimes let you play before they've finished installing, but there are stop points where you have to let it finish (IE: Sunset Overdrive only let me play the first mission I think before I had to let it finish)

2) Yes, I believe that is correct. Broadcasting to Twitch works the same way.

3) I haven't seen anything saying the game pauses downloading while in multiplayer, but it could be pausing without giving a notification. My internet is beefy enough that I don't notice either way.

Games still download/install while playing multiplayer.

I'd start with smaller sized downloads then work your way up so you'll always have something to play while downloading.

Edit: So sad Terraria is $20. Releasing a smaller game like that in the middle of big release season is not a good idea. I'll be waiting for a sale. Already have it on 360, PC, and Windows Phone.

In the same boat..Will be waiting for a sale, and big release season is more than enough to keep us occupied!

Yeah, I was thinking it would be $15 and might have jumped in for that, but releasing it for more than the 360 version really put me off, will now wait for a sale.

Is this something new? I remember when my downloads would stop during multiplayer, now it just slows down a little but continues.
On 360 they do, but not on X1. Maybe it slows down while playing some games online, but should still be downloading.

You know I've seen a lot of complaining about glitches in multiplayer, but to be honest, those are the glitches everyone should expect since they'd have needed a large open beta to catch all those. The glitches that always get under my skin are the ones in game campaigns. I've seen footage of many of the glitches in the AC Unity campaign, and it's no wonder that ubisofts stock dropped as a result if that's true. It looks like that game was barely tested at all.

I think most of us are complaining that multiplayer hasn't even been joinable. I got into the first two matches I tried to join on launch day and haven't been able to get into one since.

MCC is embarrassing. I'm not even confident this game will be fine with updates and patches going by 343's history with the series.
I feel like it's been getting a lot better if you search by yourself, with a group of friends it can still take forever. I'm up to like 1000 kills in Matchmaking now.

I was playin Halo 1 and 3 coop with my bud online and it was lagging badly. Just playing Halo 2 and 4 single player for now.

Started Battlefield Bad Company 3.   I'm disappointed.

It looks nice - especially the scene where you're flying over the ocean. But it comes off to me as shoot, advance, shoot with little to no diverse gameplay like you saw in Bad Company 2.  I appreciate the modern day setting, but I get the feeling they're trying to copy Call of Duty here.

Multiplayer is still kicking my butt. The one mode where they kept the map (why take that out of the campaign?) and you can't see enemies unless you are really up close. Xbox picked the right game as a freebie (I'm playing BF3 from the free PS Plus download).

Is Battlefield 4 any better or more of the same?

Hoping someone has an answer to this...

So I want to complete the rewards punchcard for buying $60 digital games and I want to use Dragon Age to fill a punch. If I buy DA using the 10% discount from EA access, does that void the punch for this game (since it'd be $54 instead of $60)? Anyone else try to do this?

Please share your time machine so we can all experience Bad Company 3

So Battlefield 3 came out before Bad Company 2? Geez, no wonder people hate EA. Then when does Battlefield 1943 come out?

Pretty much this.

Also, how the f*** did it take ubisoft 30 days to "fix" Watch_Pups and 343i a few days? Forget about certification time. Just time it took to actually MAKE the fix.
I don't recall there being any major glitches in Watch Dogs (or any glitches for that matter). Played it launch week and had a great time with it.

Not true. Downloadable Xbox One games can often be played before installation completes. Halo MCC for instance allowed me to play the Halo 4 campaign before the game had finished downloading, followed by Halo 2, and later, the other campaigns.

That is what I wanted to hear. I have Ryse and Dead Rising 3 on disc, possibly picking up Forza 5 as well to start off. I'll subscribe to EA Access so 6 digital games. Sunset Overdrive bundle comes with a code for the game, so another download. I have the digital upgrade for Advanced Warfare and Destiny: once again, download. All the GwG games: download. Free to play games like KI and Warframe: download. With the crappy Italian connections it's gonna be a pain in the ass to catch up, good to know I can at least try the games while downloading.
