Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I'm glad borderlands was the sale this week since destiny cleaned out my xbox funny money. Borderlands is awesome but I have both on disc

Picked up Madden 15 today from GS since the local store had a used copy and man these menus are just awful for trying to manage a team.

Never really had too much issue with them honestly.  It took a little time to get used to however.

If you mean the menus, they're terrible. There's no convenient way to get all the info you need from one screen and when evaluating player moves I have to bounce between three or four screens in two different sections. And the screens that let you actually make player moves have next to no information. Terrible.

Anyone else play Super Time Force and think it was garbage? I am so glad I didn't pay for it, or I would be so pissed.
From a design point, Super Time Force is a brilliantly designed game that adds a clever spin to a time honored genre. It has (arguably) beautiful pixel art, excellent music, a witty and humorous story, and lots of characters to collect. In practically every way it is a well-made game.

So, calling it "garbage" is awfully reductive and inaccurate. Maybe you could just say you didn't like how it plays.

i liked it enough. but its formula is played out now. after 200 hours between the first and second game, i don't want to play any more loot FPS games. im hoping gearbox gets sued to hell by sega and the class action though so BL can die knowing it had two fun games..
So because you're tired of Borderlands, you hope Gearbox goes out of business and doesn't make any more of them? That's myopic, dude. Plenty of other people still like it and would enjoy more games in the series. (Not that Gearbox shouldn't suffer penalties for screwing Sega over.)

I can't believe I still don't have the discount for mine craft, I checked it like on friday but was in a hurry and saw the discount.

Now it reverted somehow back to the full price.

Seriously... come on I bought mine craft before it was even popular on my PC lol, I deserve it for $5 x_x

For BL2: just rent the GOTY edition from Gamestop and install the second disc. Then return it.
What's the policy on returning video games these days? I haven't done so in like 20 years. Do you get your full money back? Do you get in store credit? Or are you just essentially trading it back in for less money than you bought it for?

If you return it within 7 days you get your full money back.

For anyone who's played Destiny, or just want some laughs, read the user review scores from Metacritic. Always a fun read.
Wow, these people are brutal haha. With that being said, I watched a few twitch streams about the game yesterday and it just doesn't look like my cup of tea. I was bored watching it, I doubt I would have had a different feeling with the controller actually in my hand.

If you return it within 7 days you get your full money back.
Really? Wow. If that's the case, I've been leaving a lot of free DLC on the table.

The timing on this is incredible. I literally just traded in my goty copy of BL2 during the extra 50% promo for around $21. I paid $25 for it and figured I'd wait for the vanilla version to go on sale for cheap.
$5 sounds great to me! I think I almost have enough Bing points to make it free.

LOL those Destiny user reviews are hilarious. I bet you 90% of them are all playing solo. I will admit that playing solo for the story is good only so no one talks over the story dialog and cutscenes, but playing the game with other people makes the game great.

I've only done up until the second planet so far, and the story is okay. Not filled with inane jokes like Borderlands, but also more coherent and serious. Making new friends from running into and playing with random people is awesome. The social aspect is definitely the contributing factor towards loving or hating this game IMO.

How are people allowed to give a game a zero after 1 fuckin day? Pretty obvious the majority of these ultra low scores are people who haven't played the game and just hate popular shit.
I get not liking things. I'm sure plenty of people just won't enjoy Destiny on its own merits, and that's whatever. But it's kinda sad how some people get off on hating something.

I'm gonna bite on BL2
Im pretty sure the first one is GwG bound so might as well pick up part 2
I expect BL2 to be GwG before the first actually. Just because of all the dlc (a way for the dev/pub to subsidize it). Like AssCreed II was a GwG, but the first isn't.

The lack of day one reviews might have saved Destiny from a good amount of sales.

It's not a bad game, but even if it gets 9s or 10s, it doesn't deserve to be rated that high.

Doesnt really matter as the 0's, 1's, 9's and 10's usually just cancel each other out. In other words the fanboys cancel out the haters and vice versa. There is actually an ironic sort of beauty to the whole thing, lol. You see the same thing on IMDB with movies.

That being said, I played the game for roughly 6 hours yesterday and I am really not impressed at all. I would give it a 7.0-7.5 tops. I was expecting a lot more from the story and single player side of the game.

So because you're tired of Borderlands, you hope Gearbox goes out of business and doesn't make any more of them? That's myopic, dude. Plenty of other people still like it and would enjoy more games in the series. (Not that Gearbox shouldn't suffer penalties for screwing Sega over.)
it's called an opinion. i'd rather the franchise go out on a high note than get milked. And yeah, stealing funding for another purpose and pushing out a shit game like colonial marines should put you out of business.

This is the problem. Nobody on this planet should buy a game like Destiny expecting a mind blowing single player story driven campaign. That is NOT Destiny's main aim. The game is all about looting, killing, grinding...then MORE looting, killing, and grinding. Why in the world would you play a game marketed as a mini-MMO (meaning its best experienced with multiple human beings, not hanging out in a big ass world all by yourself wtf) thinking you're getting a Gears Of War-type story?

I can already see the same complaints when Evolve comes out. Guys, if you don't like playing online with random people, please stay away from these types of games. Wait for shit like Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight. Wading through 100 scathing reviews that make no sense seeing as they dont relate to the demographic the game was intended for perturbs me.

Destiny and Evolve are two completely different games nor did Evolve have this much hype.

And what is the highest level in this game?  I've seen people past 20 already.

What did I miss from the past couple days?

Not you specifically rlm2112, this just encapsulates my synopsis of the last couple pages of this thread ^^.

Anyone else play Super Time Force and think it was garbage? I am so glad I didn't pay for it, or I would be so pissed.

Oh well, at least I can finally replay Halo Reach later this month.
I actually like STF - I picture the old Reese's Peanut Butter cup commercials: you got a puzzle game in my shooter, you got a shooter in my puzzle game - 2 great tastes that taste great together. It did take me a while to warm up to it.

I read somewhere its 26, I don't know how much truth there is to that though. Seems like a odd number for a cap.

And dancing. Don't forget the dancing.

I honestly enjoyed the beta more than Halo based on gameplay alone. Leveling up is fun and replaying levels with others is even more fun. I also liked those timed battles where you have to defeat a boss before time expires.

My only con is having an online connection in order to play. Still wish you can play offline. Otherwise, I would have no problem waiting until Destiny is selling for $30.

I was honestly expecting some kind of story, but the beta made it pretty evident.  I'm not complaining, it's still a very solid game to play.

Sure the expansions and future installments will expand on it even further.

If you buy Destiny for single player story, you are a confirmed idiot. That's the simple truth.

But yeah, don't expect more than you see in gameplay videos online (ie: taking Guilty Spark to scan something and to shoot Elites for a couple of minutes and then riding the Ghost to the next derelict bunker). Literally every preview that was shown.

I have to disagree. Some people *just don't like* playing with other people and that's ok. From everything I've played and read, you can do most, if not all, of the story completely solo. Besides, the game is very fun playing by yourself. I am having a lot of fun with my crew of friends playing along, but I will definitely spend some time with Destiny solo.

Oh, and if you get the digital version of Destiny for the cross buy, any achievements you unlock on the Bone will pop on 360 upon logging in with your character.

Not sure if it works the other way around.`
