  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

Is Oblivion worth buying at $3.74 before midnight tonight? Not really interested in the Dragon Age games, but I enjoyed Fallout 3 which is by Bethesda. I know it's not a FPS, but neither was Fallout 3 really. Thinking it might be cool to have on my system though to just dial up whenever I want.
If you want Fallout 3 in a fantasy package then maybe. It's still very playable and the expansion is really good but it certainly hasn't aged well.

Understood. I've only got a 250 gb hard drive so I'm mainly focusing on XBLA titles I don't own yet or really cheap games on demand games that I'm fairly sure I'll enjoy like Burnout Revenge and Hot Pursuit which I remember playing for hours at a time back in the day. I'm sure Oblivion is a great game, but I'm just wondering if I'll play it very often once it's been downloaded. I still haven't gone through the SNK titles I bought a few weeks ago! Perhaps, I should trust in Eldritch and save my dough.

If you like arcadey racers and not sims (which I feel the exact same way) you will love Burnout Revenge. I didnt feel that Paradise was as arcadey as the previous burnout games and went kind of a different direction. And I may be mistaken but I think Paradise didnt have crash mode like Revenge does where you try to do the most devastating crash and damage. Its easily the best mode in the game series. (altho racing is pretty damn fun too with the crash mechanics)

Excellent, thanks! Looks like I'm getting Revenge!

In the same boat, but I think i'll watch out for a deal on the goty considering my hard drive space and the cost of dlc even on discount.

You think its worth the $100 upgrade to 500GB?

If you haven't played Skyrim I would just wait for that to go on sale again instead. It's better in every way.

Revenge is a great game, picked up a physical copy years back for $15 and well worth it.

I think I'm gonna pass on Dragon Age for now, I'll check out Inquisition on PS4 when it goes on sale and thats enough for me.  As much as I love Bioware games I just dont think its worth it for my backlog...

Biggest reason I won't ever get RBI Baseball....no stat tracking.  I know it sounds dumb but I'm old enough that that feature was added in my lifetime while playing season mode and I'm damned if I'll go back.

You think its worth the $100 upgrade to 500GB?
I would say that it is if you enjoy 360 gaming and want to have those XBLA games even if your system breaks down or if/when the 360 version of Xbox Live disappears, it's a good deal. That said, with the 250 gb, I haven't yet begun to really fill it. Most of the 360 games on demand games average around 5 gb each more or less, so I'm fairly certain that the retro games I want to own (shmups, puzzlers) aren't anywhere near that large. And, I don't remember off-hand what I paid for it but this was about 2 years ago, but it was probably close to $100 if not that much.

Got RBI Baseball now for $5 in case it is an error. The 360 version is the one that is on sale for $10. I'm thinking X1 version is also supposed to be $10.

EDIT: Some fun stuff coming in November update. Some people here were asking for some of this stuff I think.

The 500 gb is only for the new 360s right? Not the older, launch models?

They come in the new shell for the slim, but you could move one to an old-style shell if you don't mind breaking the warranty seal. Or you can roll your own for around $50 (price of a hard drive) with a computer and a little know-how.

Has anyone played the game "blur"? With the new sale being more arcadey type racing games I thought of that game. I  always heard that game was alot like the burnout games, which from the videos Ive watched of it, it definitely is. Ive researched the prices for it online and they are kind of ridiculous for as old a game as it is. Also its no longer available digitally which I found interesting. Looks really fun and arcadey. Its a shame its not available digitally and in this sale.

It's basically Mario Kart meets NFS. It's really fun but the MP is also long gone.

It's a pretty big time investment if you want to beat it completely. It's not really a "play for an hour or two once in a while" game. I'm a huge Bethesda fan, and I'm still working on getting every achievement in it. It still holds a special place in my heart, like the rest of their games.

With that said, I think it still looks great, and some of the side quests and DLC are really good. There's also a lot of boring and repetitive quests too though.

It's definitely worth $3.xx, if you are willing to forgive some of it's flaws. I would probably recommend Skyrim at this point, which is much improved over Oblivion, to most people though.

A week ago I found a returned 500 GB hard drive at Fry's for $50. I didn't know how nice it would be to have all that space until I actually had it. I have 300 GB of digital content.

I bought Burnout Revenge. I really liked the demo when I tried it years ago, but since Paradise was right around the corner I decided to wait to buy it instead. I actually liked the Revenge demo a bit better.

X1: R.B.I. Baseball 14 is 75% off 4.99
X1: Zombie Driver is 50% off 12.49

looks like both are DWG
I'll admit the baseball game is tempting. Remember the 360 version had trouble with achievements so will have to look into that.

As for Zombie Driver, does it add anything new over the 360 version? Enjoyed that, but also remember only paying $10 on day one.

Burnout Paradise is fun, but I still kinda suck at navigating during the races. I have to keep opening the map every couple seconds to try to figure out the best route. I really wish they had some indicator arrows like the older games. The DeLorean is super fast though, which helps.

I'm gonna pick up Revenge too.

Edit: Paradise also subscribes to the Ricky Bobby school of racing: "You're either first, or you're last"

Yeah, it's definitely not a "play and put away for a few weeks". I put so much time into that game, then took a few months off while I was dealing with the divorce and all that happy crap. I decided to pop it back in and pick up where I left off, but I couldn't, for the life of me, remember what the hell I was doing or where I was going. I messed around for an hour or so, trying to jog my memory, but gave up, shelved it and moved on to Skyrim when it came out.

I played a little of oblivion on and off for years. Finially sat down and knocked it out. Proud to get 100% on that one. I love how beautiful skyrim is but I get lost in that game. I have a billion quests to do and cant decide where to go. Ive put about 60 hours in and havent even touched the story yet. Just wandering and exploring.

Multiple people have completed the XBO version of RBI according to TrueAchievements, so it should be good.

Exactly. It's pretty tough to get back into the longer you take a break from it...more so than most games.

I did the opposite. I screwed around in Oblivion for 30 hours, barely touching the main quest. Then I put it down for years. Skyrim came out and I purposely forced myself to stick to the main quest, and beat it within weeks. Then almost a year ago I came back to Oblivion and did the same thing. I have some guild quests and most of the DLC to finish still. Then it's on to Fallout 3 DLC which I've yet to play.

Ive got to do fallout 3 again and dragon age 1 and 2 again. This is why my backlog never goes away. Still havent even started koa yet. Id also eventually like to go through the mass effect trilogy again as a new character

I'm in the same boat. I have dozens and dozens of games I've never played yet, and I keep going back to a handful of games I've played the shit out of, but I really want to "complete". I just bought Dragon Age and ME2 and 3 recently, but it's been so long since I played ME1 that I feel like I need to replay it now :/ AND I have the ME novels that supplement each game, which I've only read the first of, and don't even remember most of it. It's kind of a nightmare, lol.

Sheesh, ANOTHER update? I just realized this week that I was behind on getting the LAST one. Cool to see some of the customizations coming though. I wish they'd do a little more with avatar pics, it seems so silly to go backwards like they did with a full posing cam and now only having a few preset poses, but at this rate another six updates and we'll have a UI that looks like the 360 in no time. 😜

I'm right there with you, with basically the same games. At this point, I'm thinking of just burning through the rest of KoA (I've already put 30+ hours) instead of trying to do a lot of the faction quests, as well as the side and main quests. I also need to play through ME 1 so I can have a full character to take through 2 and 3. Plus there's Fallout NV and Witcher 2 which I bought but haven't touched. And there's Skyrim, Dragon Age 1 & 2, Fable 2 & 3. I'm sure I'm forgetting some games.

I really need to stop buying so many RPGs.

Man, the more money I keep dumping into these digital sales, the harder it is for me to pull the trigger on an Xbox One. As much as I want to play the new COD, Master Chief Collection, and Battlefield, it seems like it makes way more sense to just wait another year or so to jump in. Part of me is holding out hope for a Black Friday deal that's just too good to pass up. What do you guys think the deals will look like this year? $300 for the Kinect free model? Hopefully one of the retailers will make the decision easy for me haha

Man. I just had an awesome time playing online in Paradise. It's still fully functional and active. I had 7 other people in my group. We did a few races, and then started just taking each other down. Eventually we all ended up in a big open area with a bunch of ramps inside a big circle. We were all flying around there taking each other down. It was delightfully chaotic.

THEN me and two other guys started basically playing King of the Hill on top of this building/ramp thing, which has dividers all along the top that were possible to get over, but difficult. Once you got over two or three of them it was almost impossible for someone to knock you off. It was hilarious and extremely fun. This was all random people with no chat involved. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun playing online :)

See this is why I really liked the MP of NFS Most Wanted. The game itself was basically the sequel to Paradise and the MP was a lot like the experience you described where it would throw out a series of objectives at different areas around the city that would vary from races to stunt challenges to actual king of the hill. Really thought they did a great job refining what made Paradise great even if it got saddled with some of the usual EA BS.

So y'all on dark like I am can read this now.

Correct, just as was the case for the 320 GB HDD's. 250GB was the largest the old style ones came in.

Of course as others have said depending on how much you want to mod there are options available.
You can just open a classic 360's hard drive shell and transfer the new 500 GB drive into it. Requires a security hex bit but is otherwise not very difficult to do. Considering buying a 500 GB drive sometime myself, as I'm tired of being out of storage space all the time.
