  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Do you have Burnout Revenge? If not then get that, it's the best of the lot.
Agreed 100%. Burnout Revenge is the last great "true" Burnout game, and a must for pure arcade racing fans. Burnout 3: Takedown is probably still my favorite of the series (and one of my favorite racing games of all time), but Revenge offered much better graphics, since it was upgraded for the 360.

Would love to see a modern remaster of Burnout 3 on the newer consoles, but sadly that will probably never happen.

Thanks, I may give that one a shot.

So how's Crimson Dragon? That's one of the games I'm interested in once I get an XBone. And D4 obviously.
Crimson Dragon - I liked it, but haven't played it much. None of my friends like it. They all think the dragon feels too slow. I agree with them, but I'm hoping that as the dragon levels up (or get new dragons), that they will become faster.

D4 is great, but very short. Not many people will like the game though because it is weird.

Hoping this is the right place , as I have an X1-related question.

I've been a Nintendo/Sony gamer most of my life. Didn't play much this last generation, as the demands of a career/family took hold.

My friends and family members have picked up X1s in the last year and I'm tempted to do the same, as having them to play with is my primary concern at this stage in my gaming life.

However, I'm on the road a lot because of work. I'm living out of hotel rooms at least a third of any given month. This is also my main source of free time for gaming.

Have my 3ds but in hopes of being able to play with my friends/family, I know I'd want to bring the X1 with me, too.

So-- any other X1 gamers spend a lot of time on the road? Doesn't seem like it's the most travel friendly console.

I know it's a total first-world problem but any recommended carriers/bags that will keep the console safe as I check in and out of different hotels?

Crimson Dragon was cool. It wasn't some unplayable mess like some reviewers suggested. It was actually quite fun once you started leveling up different dragons. And the music was excellent! The main menu theme in particular was my fave

You don't have a Vita already? I'd recommend that, over trying to tote an XB1 all over the country. You'd probably also run into problems connecting the XB1 to the hotel networks, at least in terms of poor connection speeds. Not worth the hassle IMO.

I figured you guys would know the answer, so I'm asking it in here.

I wanted to take advantage of the My Games on Demand Punchcard. It says to buy a $59.99 game to get my first punch. So I preordered the Halo: MCC and I've waited 2 full days and haven't received my first punch. Do I have to wait until the game actually releases for it to count? Or what else am I missing? I was hoping to finish the punchcard by buying some games this week but obviously can't if I don't have this first punch. Thanks in advance for any help.

When I bought Destiny on 360 for the upgrade, it took like 7 days for the punch to get filled. Maybe its different due to it not being released yet but I'd say wait a week. If it isn't filled by then, that means it won't get filled until sometime after MCC is released.

Yup, as Chimp stated, I wouldn't bring the X1 or for that matter any home console. I've brought my XBox or 360 on vacation with me (when I drive) and it can be a pain to carry especially when you have other baggage. Sure it's fun to have but I'm only away for a couple of days not like your situation.

Now the Dreamcast is lite and a blast to play, especially with Soul Calibur. I brought my GameCube once and we got bored of it.

Shadows of the Damned has an achievement called Now That's a Big fuckin' Gun.
That must be what Bob was referencing. Interesting.

If anyone is interested in playing Warface, you should do it soon. I noticed a few weeks ago (just as I stopped playing it) that the game greatly reduced the servers offered for the competitive playlists. Each playlist had something like 10 optional server listings, though now they seemed to reduce a few to about 3 each. I'm not sure how much longer the game will stick around.

And if you had issues with the glitched Halo 4 Castle Map Pack DLC Achievements (specifically the kill count ones), try playing the game now. If you obtained them the game should award you them at the start up menu now.

So-- any other X1 gamers spend a lot of time on the road? Doesn't seem like it's the most travel friendly console.

I know it's a total first-world problem but any recommended carriers/bags that will keep the console safe as I check in and out of different hotels?
Backpack worked fine for all other consoles growing up and those things were not built to last as long as X1, so I think it would be ok. I didn't go on long trips with them though or on a plane. Just a couple hours to and from my dad's house every other weekend.

Thanks kickrockz713. I was reading the FAQ and it said 2 days, that's why I was getting concerned if I was not going to get it or not.

Finally got around to playing RBI and I'm glad I only got it for $5. I can't see how they thought this is worth $20 but then again there are games for $60 that aren't worth $5. Played two games and got routed in both. Only one type of pitch available? No Home Run Derby. It would have been better if they just ported the original game instead of creating a new one. The only thing saving it for me so far is that the games go quick which is what the developers were going for.

I don't know, I would say most of those were built to last more than todays stuff. That and it was a lot less delicate and precise electronics with fewer moving parts.

You won't be disappointed. I asked the same question Monday here and someone recommended Revenge. I played it for about an hour last night and it's tons of fun. I'll definitely be putting more hours into it.
I add my recommendation as well. One of the first games I got when I got my 360 six years ago, and played the hell out of it. They took the online servers down a couple years ago, so the online racing with friends element isn't there anymore, but I don't know about local multiplayer. When I started playing Burnout Paradise I enjoyed the better graphics and bigger "world", but it wasn't half as much fun as the pinball-meets-wrecking-ball challenges in Revenge. The graphics are dated now, but you'll probably find yourself laughing at times, which is kind of messed up but kind of the whole point of it. FUN! :whee:

I read somewhere that NBA Live 15 6 hour trial would be available to everybody, not just EA Access members. I'll edit if I can find it.

Edit: Everybody else gets the trial on October 28th when the game launches.

Sheetz currently has a banana fluffernutter milkshake that is smack yo mama good

Also the steak and cheese wrap with mushrooms and boom boom sauce with a side of Mac and cheese bites is freaking amazing.

Unrelated, I'm hoping we hear a release date for Goat Simulator soon.
The newest map on PC doesn't run well on my laptop. I am looking forward to X1 version.

I'd like to hear something more about :360: Gone Home. It was supposed to be coming out alongside Costume Quest 2 IIRC.
I'd only buy Gone Home if it had an achievement for putting every item in the game into one room. That was my original goal to make the game more "fun", but I did not have the motivation. I thought the game relied on the player being an idiot and that was insulting. You'll be able to correctly guess the ending of a heavily story based game within first 10 minutes of playing. Very disappointing.

Really enjoying my trial with Live 15. I'm so surprised.
Yeah It's a huge leap over NBA Live 14. I have to wonder if EA will even skip bringing 14 to access considering how bad it was.

NBA Live 16 can actually be a contender to the 2k series from a casual standpoint if they improve even more next year. I'm not a NBA fanatic but I definitely enjoyed my brief time with NBA Live 15.

Highly recommend Burnout Revenge. I kind of like the more structured "go here, do this race, back to menu" aspects of Revenge over the open world Paradise, though both are great games. Revenge is great to just pick up and play if you have 20 minutes to spare and don't have hours to spend on getting into a game. I've had a lot of fun trying to get the 5 stars on every event so far, and if you're on the fence you should definitely grab it for 5 bucks.

Just finished the 1st episode of the second season of the :xb1: Walking Dead. The graphics look really sharp. No framerate problems like the first season (played it on last gen), so I'm glad I waited until it came out on current gen.

I might have to give the games another try. The first season was such a struggle to get through with all the problems it had.

My main issue with it was that it's a really, really weak point-n-click adventure. When you've got to explore, interact with objects and such, it feels 1000 times worse than classics like The Longest Journey or Siberia. Having said that I played all of season 1 (and currently working on season 2) because the storyline is awesome, and the "game" is fun when you're actually going on with it thanks to dialogues and stuff. The basic gameplay is just pretty weak, mostly. At least in season 2 (so far, I'm 2 episodes in) they seem to have realized that nobody really gives a damn about the weak exploration parts where you need to find tons of items. We're here for the storyline, give us that and we're okay.

A little off topic as this was from a sale a few weeks ago but was anyone else a bit disappointed that Metro 2033, a game based on a novel, was lacking in story.

i dont think it was lacking to much

but i guess i know what you mean coming from a novel you do expect much more storywise

Glad i picked it up though on that sale

So, Korra is less than 2 GBs, and being offered for $15. Is it really short or what?

On another topic, I beat Hell in Spelunky after ten months of on-and-off playing. Feels so good.

I feel bad for you non US folks when it comes to price inequality, BUT hey, at least you get to live in freaking Europe or Australia. The US midwest sucks. I guess the grass is always greener though.
Be glad you don't get games banned left and right for being too violent.

Why are you playing Season 2 without importing the Season 1 saves?!?!

On a different note, PS3 seems to be getting a new bundled Assassin's Creed called the "Americas Collection", which includes AC III, IV and Liberation HD. It doesn't seem to be available for the 360.

The reviews are unsurprisingly, but disappointingly, bad. Wish Platinum would have been given the time and budget to make a full sized Korra game, such a great fit for their game style.
