As said, it depends on your billing address.  In addition to Oregon, Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, and Montana also don't have a state sales taxes and residents of those states shouldn't get charged a sales tax.  I don't get charged with a Maryland address, either.  Maryland does have a use tax, but checking the MD Comptroller's web site, it mentions it is for "tangible goods", so I shouldn't need to file for my XBL purchases.  Not that people often file for out of state purchases made via Internet / mail / phone.

 
San Andreas' price runs through until November 10th. 

Seems like that's it for Shocktober sales, nothing else.

I bought the $.99 DLC today. I'll let you know if it credits me the 2000 points. It takes 2-3 days sometimes, so I'll post if I see it Thursday or Friday.

It's crazy cause if I pay with my credit card on the xbox or on the website, they stick me with the tax everytime. But if I have credit to make the full purchase or partial amount, never have to pay tax. I'm in Chicago btw, and since Amazon also doesn't charge me tax, I get a clean 5 buck gift card from them.

 
I traded tweets with Midnight City guys about Costume Quest 2 on the Xboxes.....they said they're working on it. I really hope it comes out this week.

I have gold and mine isn't working either.

Edit: Tried a different one and it worked fine.

So according to major Nelson, the new slender game is supposed to be 50% as well but it's showing up as $9.99. That's the regular price, correct? I'll definitely pick it up if it drops to $5. If $10 is the sale price I'll just wait I guess.

I know the feeling... I bought the "Alice: Madness Returns the complete collection" for PC when Amazon had it on sale for $7.49, but it didn't stop me from buying it again on console.
 
Titanfall season pass 66% off? Ouch. Just bought it last week. I always buy map packs day one, but never really had time for Titanfall until last week. Oh well. I did play the hell out of it last Sunday...
 
Not sure if I should pick up GTA4 or not:

1. I just bought GTA San Andreas and I'll be getting the GTA5 PS4/One port.

2. Seems like a candidate for Games for Gold.

Also, not sure if I should pick up Titanfall or not:

1. Don't have a Xbone yet. Most likely getting one by the end of year. May be cheaper during BF.

2. Usually don't buy DLC games over 20 bucks.

I bought Vietnam and the Onslaught mode DLCs and didn't get points. I didn't get points for 10 hours played, which I'm pretty sure I passed. I did play the game briefly on my tag in the past, but I'm not sure if that disqualifies me from both promos. Haven't tried posting to the support forums yet.

I haven't done any of them but you may need to wait until the end of the month for it to all tally up. You have to do that with the purchase rebates so maybe it's the same for these as well.

This isn't a very reliable response (ie. Keep googling) but I'm fairly certain avatar goods are account specific. I'm pretty sure that non-gender specific props, as an example, that I bought off the marketplace do not show up under my gf's account as being useable so if that logic holds true, I can only assume that gender-specific clothes wouldn't show either.

...Maybe?

What are the rules for the "Spend $50, Get $5 Back" promotion?  If it's good through next month, I'll have no problem reaching that amount.

Don't forget that they take the pre-order credit "back" (out of your reward account, even putting it into the negatives if you have nothing in there) if you return a game that they promo'd you money/points.

This wouldn't affect me since I'd be trading it in. I figured since I used $51 Best Buy credit to pay for it if I trade it back for $44 + the $10 Certificate I'll make money.

This $10 cert.. you're referring to... Is for pre-ordering it, yes? They'll debit it from your My BBY account if you trade the game back to them... that they are giving it to you for. You'll have spent $51 in BBY credit, then get back $44. That was my point. Unless I grossly misunderstand their policies regarding promo bucks.

They don't take the cert back if you trade that same game back in. Two totally different things, they will only take the cert back or 500 points from your account if you return it. So he still comes out $54 dollars. $44 from Trade in and $10 from the cert.

You do grossly misunderstand.

A trade is not anywhere close to being treated like a return.

I just checked my statement.

I received the 1000 point credit for playing 10 hours and 2000 credit for buying a DLC for Bad Company 2. I had never played the game on the 360 before it went free.

I did not receive a 1000 point credit for playing Halo: Reach for 10 hours, even though I did play it for over that amount. I had owned Reach prior to it going free for gold. I guess if you owned the game prior these events then it negates the reward.
