Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Thanks, but doesn't really beat the pricing I've seen so far on Amazon.

$40 for a 500 GB or more is the sweet spot.

So, you are looking for a lower capacity drive? $/GB, you can do much better with larger drives. Most of the ones in that link are better $/MB.

What the biggest external ones the Xbox one support with it own power supply? Cause I rather have one with it own power supply so not to over work the Xbox one and figure might as well get the largest since I'm constantly buying physical & digital games both and already at 85% full on my Xbox one

I can't find the exact number since I'm on my phone and it doesn't want to work well at the moment but I think it's theoretically up to the format limit. Definitely way above anything you can buy now.

I remember trying Amy and the only thing I liked about the game was the fact that the game portrays Amy as a girl with autism. Other than that the game was an overly repetitive escort mission so boring I wanted to claw my eyes out...and all I tried was the trial game.
So it's worth picking up then, you're saying?

Since we're talking about backlogs and achievement whoring, I thought I'd chime in.

I literally have 16 X1 disc based games and 16 digitally downloaded. 2.8gb left, and haven't completed any. I would've broke my 200k gs by now if I wasn't playing the garbage grind known as Destiny.

Damn Best Buy discount not making me spend any of my saved up Xbox credit.
Yeah, I was just saying Microsoft really dropped the ball with the lack of on-board memory this gen. I literally have saves from hundreds of games and 20 or so Live downloads on my 360's hard drive with plenty of space to spare on a 250 gb drive, but I can see myself having to delete games off my Xbox One as time goes on just to free up space. Instead of pushing Kinect on everybody who didn't want it, they should have included a 1 tb drive in all Xbox One systems instead starting on day one.

Should they have? Probably and same with Sony. Would it have bumped the price of both systems up another $50? Probably.

At least MS has realized that allowing us to use (faster) external storage of whatever size we choose is better than forcing us into expensive set configurations. You mention that 250GB drive but that didn't even come out for five years and even today is grossly overpriced because it's all proprietary. If you expect to keep 50 GB installs on your system forever then a drive of any size is going to rapidly fill.

yeah usb3.0 storage was a good decision as was standard AAs in the controller. i can't see how people can argue otherwise. PC people have known for years: standard > proprietary.

I really wasn't for the AA thing until I compared it to how awful the DS4 battery life is.

So 343 added 50 more achievements to Halo MCC bringing the total Gamerscore to 4500. And on XBA there are a bunch of whiny pussies who are now threatening to cancel their preorders because some of the new achievements are practically impossible. I mean, I love achievement hunting too. But I would never not play a game I am looking forward to just because the probability of 100%ing it is low! Crazy shit.

I hope they do cancel them and go play a game they can 100% like Hannah Montana or barbies Magic pony ride.

I like achievements but I still play whatever I want and don't worry about % of completion.

None of the new achievements are even that hard either, people just complain about stupid stuff. The speed run ones are going to be the hardest out of the batch but you practice enough and watch some videos if you need help and you should be able to get the route down good enough.

I picked up Gears of War Judgment (LN condition) on Amazon for less then 7 dollars (free shipping with prime). Shipped from a warehouse in Louisville KY and even included Gears of War 1 as a downloadable code. Doesn't look like it's available for what I paid but you can get it for less on Amazon.

I was just looking at the achievements for the Master Chief Collection and there are ones for competing each campaign on legendary in three hours or less. That is insane.

Now those are just ridiculous, I agree there. A single chapter could take 3 hours on Legendary for me, never mind the entire campaign lol. But fuck it, I'm still gonna get the game, a few nigh unobtainable achievements aren't gonna stop me.

In Halo 3 you can run through the first few chapters in under 30 minutes with a seasoned 4 man team. By yourself? Good luck with that.
It's still possible by yourself, a lot of the enemies you can run past when you speedrun the Halo games. I know this isn't going to be something everyone can do but the world records are under 2 hours for each of the game, and there are a lot of helpful guides out there.

I've done some of these before and know with time and patience it's definitely doable, however if you can do them in coop then yeah that should be a lot easier because everyone can just rush and if someone dies they'll be able to respawn.

Both of these sites are really helpful with times/videos.

EDIT: I should note, it seems like you don't have to do all the levels at once for this achievements which is helpful as well, and you should be able to put skulls on still, so you'll have like infinite ammo in Halo 1 and 2 (along with grenades) which should make them a bit easier to do as well.

I hope they do cancel them and go play a game they can 100% like Hannah Montana or barbies Magic pony ride.

I love that site so much. I go on there just to read the comments, especially for the multiplayer games and see them all bitching because of the multiplayer achievements.

Completing Reach on Heroic took me almost 15 hours lol. That last level was just a bitch to play through.

Okay, so I purchased the Titanfall Season Pass last Tuesday before the price change on Thursday and I just got shot down on chat with MS on trying to get a refund. The rep I chatted with claimed that I couldn't receive a refund because I purchased the content "before the promotion price" and "no refunds on purchases." :whistle2:x Should I try my luck with chat again tomorrow or just eat the $2 loss and take it as a "lesson learned" (don't buy "weekly sale" DLC until the following Monday)?

I don't think there is. Promotional credit expires when it expires. Least they email these days. I once lost about $50 worth of promo credit because I simply didn't know it was expiring.
Thanks. I figured there is nothing I can do. It is nice that they actually notified me. I would have been super PO'ed if I left those funds expire.... Now time to decide on what to buy.

Try saying the original sale price of 67% was a mistake and they fixed it later. Major Nelson's blog lists it as 67% off but in-game clearly says 75% off.

You know, it's kind of nice last week's normal sale offering were pure garbage, not counting the shocktober stuff, since it means that tomorrows deals can only be an improvement. Any week where the sale is highlighted by Amy means the next week's deals will look stellar in comparison.

The rep I chatted with mentioned Major Nelson's blog and pointed out the "correct" price at 67% off. I mentioned that the price was currently 75% off, but I had (and I guess still have?) no way of proving that the price is $6.50 on my end of things. She kept saying that it wasn't showing that price on her end. If there's an in-game way of finding the discounted price, I haven't popped in my Titanfall disc to know one way or the other.

It shows 75% off right at the main menu in-game. This is two weeks in a row where they've messed up prices and been stubborn about it.

In-game menu? Gotcha. I'll have to try my luck again with chat support tomorrow and mention that. Thanks for the help, guys. And, if you don't mind my asking, what was the price issue the week before?

I'll DEFINITELY have to wait until the end of each sale week if this keeps up. :nottalking:

Does anybody know if COD:AW will be released on the 360's marketplace at midnight tonight? I've been stuck in a hospital since June of last year which makes preordering games rather difficult.

I hate COD, but House of Cards has made me love Kevin Spacey. Hopefully Family Video has Sunset Overdrive next weekend so I don't get tempted.

Gamestop says "Pre-order: This item will be available to download on 11/02/2014, 11:00 PM CST"

Xbox servers will probably get hit hard. Might take several hours to download even if you have a good connection.

I can see myself having to delete games off my Xbox One as time goes on just to free up space. Instead of pushing Kinect on everybody who didn't want it, they should have included a 1 tb drive in all Xbox One systems instead starting on day one.
Just buy an external drive and be done with it. You shouldn't be too cheap to pay external prices (which are very fair and go on sale all the time) and force yourself to delete stuff you want or lose out on future games.

I'm hoping Family Video doesn't have any newer games in stock this weekend so I can plow through the rest of Battlefield 4 campaign and Tomb Raider to make room for Halo, Unity, and FC4. If my left thumbstick wasn't broke, I'd get external HD instead of a new controller. Somebody remade that jumpscare maze game from way back on Project Spark and I couldn't even get to the jumpscare part thanks to my controller. That was the last straw.

Anybody know how long MS Store will hold pre-orders? I don't want to show up Friday and find out that they only reserve a copy until Thursday. I need my Halo that weekend

They're charging for you to use an external hard drive to store your games on? That's quite ridiculous. Pay online fees, pay hard drive fees...watch out, M$ is currently trying to tax the kWh your Kinect uses and put a service fee on Smartglass.

Finished Sunset Overdrive today. Loved the game. The reference to gamer culture, breaking the 4th wall, and sites like gamefaqs and neogaf all made for a humorous enjoyable experience. I'll probably go ahead and trade it in and rebuy on a $20 under sale to complete the rest. Highly recommend it.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or you didn't read properly.

Regardless, he's talking about BUYING an external hard drive, I'm fairly sure no console ships with an internal AND an external one. You don't have to pay to use it.

EDIT: Stupid phone double posted. Please ignore and enjoy this gif of Emma Watson staring into your soul. O:)

Come on now, that's just being unreasonable for the sake of doing so. I have 7 full retail digital games installed on my system, 4 more disc based games installed, and 18 smaller games on my system and have 116 GB free still. Would I like more? Sure, but that seems perfectly reasonable to me. Having the option of being able to buy a standard external HDD and get more storage and better performance to expand upon that works great for me.

Taxing your storage is only allowing you to use proprietary hard drives that cost 3-4 times as much as a standard drive would for the same size.

Masters already said everything that needed to be said here, but I just wanted to point out that your comment was stupid and not funny. :p

On the other hand, Masters, your animated GIF gives me motion sickness. Yeck!

Has anyone been playing Evolve?  What's there is definitely fun but is there going to be more to it?  I like playing the medic but not the other classes as much so far.  Evolve is definitely better mechanically in every way than L4D but I'm not sure if it's going to have quite the same hook.

CoD is up on the 360 web marketplace.

EDIT: and on console.  After purchasing it, the Xbone version isn't showing up as free yet, though, so hopefully it'll activate the cross buy by morning.

Played for 30 minutes and said fuck this. Went from a day one buy to will I ever buy it? I loved L4D so much but I wasn't feeling Evolve
