  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Is anyone else having trouble downloading Red Faction Guerrilla through the website?  I keep getting an error message even though its 11/30 and I am Gold

Worms X1 is now free on the website.

So is The Raven. WTF only one episode? Really? I thought it would be the series. Ouch.

I am currently playing State of Decay now and looking at howlongtobeat.com it says ~16 hours to finish the game so I'm genuinely curious what you did to put so many hours into the game? I'm hooked and I can't wait for the SoD MMO to come out. Honestly I can't believe it hasn't been done yet.
I haven't looked at the listing, but I assume that 16 hours only covers finishing Start to End campaign missions, the game throws a ton of side missions at you if you let it. Clear an infestation here, rescue a trapped member there, climb a watchtower over there and they add up--especially since it can take anywhere from 5-35 minutes per task depending on determination and luck-of-the-draw zombie spawning/movement.

My favorite aspects of the game are the character upgrading (as flawed as it intrinsically is) as well as the possibility to 'LOOT ALL THE THINGS!' in hopes of finding the best supplies, and kablow! There's another 10 hours... if you so choose.

What really wracked up the time was the endless mode of the Breakdown DLC, where you literally can keep playing forever if you want to and each time you meet the minimum requirements of finding and fixing a new RV you get to startover on a refreshed map but with fewer resources to find and way, WAY more zombies and more special zombie spawns per level. I played that through level... 11 or 14? Breakdown also offers unlockable survivors once you meet specific requirements ('Kill x Zombies with inflammatory devices,' 'Stealth kill x Zombies' etc. and the requirements don't reset as you play from level to level, nor does your found inventory reset) which also is very motivating to keep pushing through more and more hours of play.

I also completed the Lifeline DLC which was enjoyable but "short" as far as the sandbox aspect of the game goes as sidequests happen much quicker and are much more "do it, or lose it." The upside is that the whole DLC is army based (ha, no pun intended this time) so weapons and ammo are plentiful, making it less centered on managing resources and more survive-or-die. That was probably a dozen hours or less.

That being said, I played through the Breakdown DLC a dozen times, Lifeline finished once through (if you want all the cheeves, you need to play it twice due to having to make a big decision), and I played the campaign 2.5 times (I restarted after my first 4 hours since I felt I had a much better feel for the game after that, and then I played through it again recently to get a couple of story-based achievements I missed--and I played it pretty straight-forward, not too many detours or lingering around) and yeah... 170ish hours.

EDIT: If I was wishing for anything to get implemented, it would be the damn Leaderboards. My first serious time through the main campaign I panicked when Marcus got turned around and I accidentally launch him off the top of a watchtower--turns out that's not a biggie and they take minimal damage from such things. It froze my leaderboard score because the coding detected "cheating" or so they claim.

My most recent playthrough I thought I'd have it licked but it suddenly stopped keeping score when I switched to another character while wandering around with my first and was about to be confronted by two zombie hordes from different directions--I figured I was safe from the "cheating" flag being raised from the engine but apparently not. I'd really like to see this just a little more lenient. With one more big game update coming down the pipes for the Year One edition, I have my fingers crossed.

I left quite a lengthy rant about my qualms with the SKATE series during one of he last big sales quite a few months ago, but the short version is basically that althougn I found the controls and customization pretty rewarding (especially as a fan of COOL BOARDERS, the snowboard games from the PS1 era), I hit a wall super-quick in SKATE 2 but did manage to get a good few hours of enjoyment out of the flexibility of running around doing various activities in SKATE 3.

Both games' campaigns center a lot around score-based challenges in small designated specific areas (think ramp-like structures, fountains, abstract skateable sculptures, etc) to "own" them before proceeding in your career. Idk if it's just my aging thumb dexterity or just lack of my own trick creativity but in SKATE 2 I was trés suck[/] and got stuck pretty quickly, but the added trick tweaks that are added in S3 let me get further (plus, if my memory serves, S3's career trajectory was a lot less linear) and honestly, I only baled--pun intended--on SKATE 3 when my character got stuck while exploring backyards on-foot and even reloading my checkpoint started me off in a dead end situation.

I haven't seriously played a Street Fighter game since the 90's so I'm no help there, however.
Thanks again! I'm leaning towards getting Skate 3 since it is still online (which is pretty important to me).

I know you just mentioned waiting for the XB1 version, but you're really making it more tempting to jump on the sale price now and dive in. At least for me you are...

Well Cyber Monday sales are really just worse BF deals so...
Typically you're right. But Microsoft seems to have put so little effort into its Xbox One digital Black Friday Sale that I'm hoping that the deals we get tomorrow - either as a Cyber Monday Sale or just the early reveal of Tuesday's Weekly's - are noticeably better.

Why do I say 'little effort'...? Check the games on sale for PSN - Sniper Elite III, Destiny, Call of Duty, FIFA, Madden, NHL. Check Steam - Mordor, Evil Within. .....The same games on sale everywhere, over and over again. ...Here's hoping tomorrow is better for XBL.

Yeah, but PSN also does Flash Sales and it's not even fair to compare Steam sales to anything on the consoles. So no, little effort is part of Microsoft and digital. I Still don't even know what the fuck the power of the cloud means...

Got the Raven on Steam a while ago..but seeing that only the first episode is free on 360 is kind of a joke...like making an unfinished Game free.
Plus, from what I have read everywhere, the controls on 360 are far inferior to that of PC, to the point of making the game difficult to play. Think I'll be passing, even if there's a sale on the other episodes this week.

Yeah, at least they should put the other two episodes on sale so people would be more interested in having the complete game (they were on sale not too long ago, at a good price).

I won't spend more than a buck or two on the other two parts though, since I'm not interested at all in this game, I won't even download it (but I've already purchased it, along with Xbone's Worms).

I am on the fence about buying all the Gears of War games during this sale (I am trying to have all my games installed on my 360 HDD as a "digital library"). I have an Xbox One and I suspect there will be an anthology released within the next few years, similar to the Master Chief Collection. I am in no hurry to play the games, but they are cheap right now. Does anyone else think it's likely they will be re-released?

Thanks SangesTheLurker,

they definitely managed to put together a pretty fun game especially for an indie developer. It hits a lot of the right notes, open world, looting, base building with rpg elements. Game feels like the love child of Dead Rising meets GTA.

Oh well off to move into my new base and slay some zambies!

I hope nobody downloads it.
Too late.

I gave it whirl. Could hardly put in 20 minutes into the game. Didn't like it at all, and this is coming from a guy who absolutely loved Telltale's Walking Dead. Despite all the bugs TWD has, It's a million times easier to get into then the raven trash.

Ok, I've resisted this long from getting Borderlands 1 and 2 and Gears of War 3 knowing they'll prob be GwG in the next few months cuz that happens when we all get in on a sale but I also don't want to miss out. I have the disc versions for all three. A few more hours to go.

Can anyone speak to how NHL 15 is now (with the updates), whether the PS4 version might run smoother, and/or whether a game like Mordor might run faster on via physical copy or digital version?

Thanks.

Any news on if we will be getting anything for Cyber Monday? Was really hoping to get a digital copy of Lords of the Fallen for cheap and a few others that didn't make the cut for the BF deals.

So is there any Cyber Monday deals because the post on Major's site, the one referring to this past weekend's sale, suggests that's all for the Black Friday week sale.

Typically the following day's deals show up no later than three hours ago on XBLDB. So....doesn't look like we're getting any special Cyber Monday deals, unfortunately.

That said, people on NeoGAF are posting that Phil Spencer said this week's Xbox weekly deals would somehow be better than the usual weekly's. Don't know if that was in regards to quantity (lots of titles, please!) or quality (really low prices, please!), or both. And frankly, I have yet to see a link to him actually making the statement. So....apply plenty grains of salt.

.....Nonetheless, the upcoming weekly's will be known in 20 hours or so.

I'd been waiting on them to fix this as well. Even had my own unhelpful chat with a representative on Friday. It looks like it is fixed though. Just snagged it for $4.99.
Wow, so they did honor their prices! I got the whole trilogy :). Made sure to change my address to New Hampshire to avoid the sales tax.

You're probably right, but you might have to wait until 2017. They might also only release the 1st one remastered. I didn't play these before so I had to get them.

Australia does not have The Raven on the marketplace.
Anybody seen or heard something for a replacement?
Congratulations!

How is Strider guys? I got a PS3 and XBox 360 currently. Should I wait till I get a PS4 or XB1 to get Strider or is it not even a good game to begin with?

It's wonderful, a clever mix of the arcade and NES games with modern visuals and sound. Haven't you read any reviews? :)

Me, I would wait for Xbox One or PS4, as it runs smoother and looks prettier there.

Yeah it does look from what I heard about. And thanks for the confirmation on PS4/XB1 I will wait till then.

Nope, I was wondering the same thing. Fingers crossed that it's something interesting. If anyone does find out please post it here as I often find that the advertisements here in Australia for GwG still reflect those back overseas even when the games differ.

As for The Raven - I bought The Raven and its DLC on an overseas profile a couple months back when it was heavily reduced and I have to say that the control system is the most obtuse and awful system I've ever used in any game. I spent 15 minutes trying to get a character to face a door so that I could open it. And there's a point about an hour into the game when you literally have to walk in the dark on a pitch black screen while you pixel hunt - that combined with the horrible controls just made me never ever want to play this game again. Maybe it's better on a PC but the controls on a console are literally broken. I've seen bargain basement Kinect games that control more accurately than The Raven does with a controller. I had insanely high hopes from the team behind The Book of Unwritten Tales and maybe there's a brilliant story here but the controls are just rotten. I'm curious if anyone else struggles with it like i did - and a total shame they didn't make the whole game free.

if you know your getting a one and want to buy it while its on sale you can sign on thru Xbox.com and purchase it for your future xb1.

Question: If I download a game I just bought onto my hard drive, then I get a new hard drive, can I just download it to the new hard drive, or do I have to do a transfer or something?

I'm not even going to bother queuing up the Raven. Not worth the disc space...

With all the games I bought between BF at BB and the MS glitch, I have too much to play and not enough time to play it all... Unless the deals are full X1 games for 25 or less, I'll be skipping a few weeks.

Grabbed Worms. Shouldnt even really be interested in more sales because I've spent more than enough, but still wish we had some Cyber Monday deals nonetheless

Yeah, as long as it's on your main profile you use. Just download it on your download history and you may have it on your new hard drive
