I hate how they put games on sale for less than they were. Like how gta5 was like $26 last week, and now its under $20. Wtf microsoft
 
Styx has some really, really positive user reviews on Steam here.  Its an old-school stealth game through and through, apparently.

Will it be a Games with Gold title down the road?  Yeah, I can see that.  But if you want a stealth game in the here-and-now, and want to support a smaller developer, seems like a good time to jump on it.

LA Noire is still on sale for $7.49 from the extended holiday sale, I doubt they are going to turn around and mark it down to $5. Though after what they just did with GTA V, you never know. I'd be pretty irritated if I had just purchased GTA V for $25 last week.

I am hating myself for worrying about whether or not to buy games on sale in fear of them going cheaper before playing them, instead of actually playing games. It was worst during this 'holiday' XBL countdown since most of the sales were horrible and gave me more time to ponder rather than just pushing the buy button. /endrant

That's kind of what happens when games get older, especially digital releases. It's going to keep happening over and over until the games hit 85-90% off.

 
I just wish a couple days before delisting they would put the games up for 0.99 and just get every ounce of money they can before its off the market.
 
Color me curious about Styx. Reviews seem middling, but that's assuming you're paying $30. Anyone here played it and have an opinion on it?

Maybe he's referring to how often LA Noire goes on sale but it's always at $7.49 . I know I'd rebuy the game if it $5.

 
Someone HAD to mention a Rockstar sale. XBLDB just picked up the following -

GTAV is extremely tempting at that price, though I have it digital on the ps3...not sure it's worth a second buy though...nothing else so far is screaming buy me. Already have San Andreas and GTA4 w/dlcs...and someone had asked about the game size? On the ps3 it's 18gb.

Anyone run into the issue of not being able to combine their account balance with a credit card payment? Is it a matter of there being a minimum amount for a credit card transaction? Have ~$3.40 in balance but messing around with the change payment button doesn't seem to work when it comes to using that and paying for the rest of Dead Island Riptide with a CC.

Specifically, when I go to change payment options, the "Microsoft Account: $3.40" option is greyed out.

It's probably close to that, if not bigger than that now because of the number of free DLC packs that are available to download. It's great that they truly support the game so much, but the hard drive space it takes is very large.

Forza Horizon has been cheaper, although that is a great value for a quality game. There used to be an issue with the digital version for a lot of people. It simply would not play. There was no discernible cause and Playground Games/Microsoft/Turn 10 never really addressed the issue publicly. I recommend looking online to see if this has been fixed before buying.

It's been two years since the last sale on the FM4 Season Pass and this sale isn't as good... I've been waiting anxiously for a sale thinking it would surely be 50% or better. Not sure if it's worth it unless it's 75% off since there is a newer game at this point. It does suck to not have all of the cars though and miss out on really cool paint jobs on cars I don't own in the auction house or that get gifted to me. Wish VIP would go on sale so all my auctions wouldn't get overlooked at the bottom of the auction list. Since I jut got a Xbone and FM5 I hope the car pass goes on sale too.

Do you remember how much the car pass was discounted before? I didn't have FM5 at the time so I didn't pay attention.

I heard about that but it's been perfectly fine for me since I bought it last time it was on sale.

 
I'm really enjoying Tales from the Borderlands. The first episode feels much better than TWD and TWAU. I noticed 3 major differences. This is only one episode though, so some of these may change later.

1. I know about the Borderlands universe before playing. I knew almost nothing about TWD and TWAU before playing them. I can recognize the cameos and references to the other games.

2. The overall tone of the game isn't as serious as TWD and TWAU, it is a lot more fun. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

3. Most importantly, the game doesn't run like shit. There were two audio errors throughout the whole first episode and no problems with freezing.

Aside from less freezing I thought Tales from the Borderlands was pretty weak. I just don't feel attached to the characters whatsoever. I loved Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us. And Game of Thrones is off to a great start. I'm hoping Borderlands pick up. And I love the borderlands series too.
 
Telltales TWD...I wanted to feed the kid to the zombies...also not a fan of the show, so didn't enjoy ep1 at all. Wolf...never read the comics so not interested in the game. Same with GoT...hated the show, no interest in the game. Borderlands, love the real games, not sure about the Telltale version. The walking dead game kind of put me off actually paying for anything Telltale puts out.

I never read the comics before playing Wolf. Playing Wolf made me want to read the comics though.

Should one play the 3rd borderlands game (prequel) before playing tales from the borderlands? For references and such as you mentioned.

Just playing the second game should give you enough reference on some of the characters. And it's not even really needed. It makes it a little better knowing some of the events in the games but majority of the characters aren't in the games.
