  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Oh please. I have Plants vs. Zombies on PS3, Xbox, PC, and tablet and I still play it to this day.

Same thing applies to Symphony of the Night, Limbo, Pac-Man, Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10,  and Rock Band Blitz (all for Xbox and PS3).

And yes I still have the Gamecube version of Resident Evil.

I'll definitely be buying Borderlands: Remastered since I specifically avoided the Prequel figuring it would come out on Next-Gen in due time. The 4 Player split-screen will be a great addition, but I'll hold off hype until I see how the game performs with all that action going on.

I buy games on multiple platforms if I really like the game and it's on sale. 1. I want to support the developers by buying it, even it's at a sale price. 2. Naturally for the achievements and Steam trading cards if applicable.

With that being said, I would definitely get the One version of SoD, but not for $20. Will wait for the $10-12 range.

Remember you can adjust between the original controls and the new "analog controls all movement" controls in the options menu. Each has three settings, IIRC.
Does one of the settings for the original control style allow you to have the action button mapped to X and the run button mapped to A? The digital manual on Xbox.com seems to indicate that it's the other way around (at least by default).

The first game is getting a full remake for next gen systems.
Could I get some proof on this please? Haven't heard that anywhere
The rumor came from places like this in December, which were half-correct. Turns out We are getting a Borderlands (series) remaster, it just doesn't include the first game.

Other than that, there is no news of a BL1 remaster / remake anywhere on the internet.

So many violations of cag rule #43: don't rebuy a game on multiple systems.

You see lots of, I played it on PC and PS3 so I'll be buying it on One when it comes out. Why? You have infinite amounts of time to reexperience the same story, levels, villains? You have infinite amounts of money to buy a game many times?

Of course, I never found the worth in rereading books I finished or rewatching movies I've seen like others do which definitely makes me the odd one.
I'm sorry to hear that you don't enjoy any games enough to want to keep playing them until the end of time.

I could probably say that Plants vs Zombies is my favorite game of all-time, as I've at least beaten the adventure mode on almost every platform (screw off, Windows Phone) and have played through the game dozens of times to make it at least 500+ hours of time spent in the various versions of that game out there. I've done all of the absurd grinding required to purchase all of the modes in the iOS version and am currently doing the same on Android, but it never gets tiring compared to the sequel that I gave up on last week after it randomly decided to balloon up from 350 MB to 1 GB for no reason other than shitty mobile gaming reasons. I've purchased it on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, DS, Vita, and iOS and it's worth it every single time.

IMHO it's only worth it to rebuy a game if you loved it for its gameplay, I don't see the point to buy a story driven game two times (unless you somehow completely forget it or it released 10 yrs ago).

That's why I would rebuy a Titanfall or a PvZ but not a Mass Effect or TLOU.

I have a poor long term memory, so anything I played a few years ago can feel pretty fresh even if it is story driven. I would love to see a good Mass Effect remake...mostly for Miranda.

Even though I tweeted at them nonstop about a remastered edition that included all three games and let you play a mode where you could play any class in any of the campaigns.

You could call it "paradox" mode or something! This idea was FREE, Gearbox!

Still buying this remastered edition, though. So pumped.

Oh, look. More "remastered" games. This generation of console titles has been a colossal disappointment thus far. I still haven't played a game that justified the jump from 360 to X1.

I play Plants vs. Zombies 2 daily. Nowadays I play the first game for the minigames.

And the Zen Garden. Can't forget the Zen Garden.

The Resident Evil series is a great example of a game I replay over and over. Sometimes I play it without using certain weapons for a challenge. At times, it affects which path I take (this is especially true with RE3) so my play thrus are different every time especially since every zombie doesn't take the same amount of bullets to kill. In fact, I was playing Extreme Battle Mode on RE 2 last night while waiting for RE HD to download ( never did beat Lvl. 3).

And before anyone asks, yes there are times when I use the knife.

Turns out Playstation also has Crystal Defenders at $4.99. In addition, they is some 10% off discount code coming this weekend so it's technically 50 cents cheaper.

I have Halo 1 on Xbox, PC, 360, and XBO. I still play PC from time to time along with XBO.

There are some games that are just worth multiple purchases!

Claptrap? Sounds like a side effect from Date Night.

Forgot to mention another reason for re-purchases: Space saving. I've done it to preserve disc space (recently with Battlefield 2) and to free space on the shelf for more games (I plan to sell some CoD games to make room/funds available for Ghosts).

Oh, look. More "remastered" games. This generation of console titles has been a colossal disappointment thus far. I still haven't played a game that justified the jump from 360 to X1.
It is especially interesting if this console cycle is much shorter, which I think everyone was saying it would be. I got into the 360 late and the PS3 as well and am paying for it with a backlog. When and if I finish, I wonder if I'll actually be able to keep up this time on the current gen.

Let me know if you need a Ghosts season pass. I have a couple 360 ones. (not sure if cross buy is still active, anyone tried lately?)

Yeah, but that's the same date from the AC Black Flag cross buy and it still works...

For me the jump in Nba 2k is what justified the switch. It's not much different but I can get even more immersed in it and I waste so much of my time playing that series that it was well worth a new console.

That's fair.

There are competing motivations here. Third-party publishers want to sell as many units as possible, so their games are cross-gen...i.e, a game you can play on X360/PS3. .....And Microsoft and Sony - the companies who are trying to get us all to go new-gen - haven't come close to releasing a must-have new-gen title yet.

2015, though. This is the year. With so many new-gen-only releases, one of 'em is bound to be great.

yea well the next few big games won't be coming to 360 developers are starting to push the newer systems and the older ones can't handle it like dying light, evolve, the witcher 3, the division and the new batman. Pretty sure Ubisoft already said they won't be making anther assassin's creed on last gen systems. And I don't see too many other games coming to 360 this year (possibly just duty, hardline and metal gear V).

idk I felt that it has been well worth the jump from 360 to xbone, I haven't touched my 360 since I got an xbone. I usually grab games when the first release (big ones anyway) and for the same price you're getting better graphics and a better overall experience.

Pfft, skin and noses are so last gen. People gotta realize floating hair, eyeballs and hair are the future!

Makes their next gen efforts look too bad.
ha prob.

Unity was so horrible, I played like the first 10-20 min of rogue and it did seem way better, just haven't had a chance to go back and play it yet. The graphics seemed about the same (unity did look amazing indoors but there was huge frame rate issues) and from what little I played rogue it seemed to handle better. I hear it is the black flag engine and that blows away the unity controls.

metro redux arrived today. to my surprise there was no updates to download. I assume all the dlc is on the disk, was any of the dlc for metro that good?

I don't know why I just watched that...

That show was so terrible sometimes but I miss Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb (to a lesser degree). It made me sad when he announced he was done covering game stuff. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves because of some of the wacky TV stuff.

Really? It had an update for me, but it was small, maybe 120 MB.

And yes, I recognize the conflict in my purchase of Metro Redux while complaining about all the new-gen remasters.

Does one of the settings for the original control style allow you to have the action button mapped to X and the run button mapped to A? The digital manual on Xbox.com seems to indicate that it's the other way around (at least by default).
It took a while for me to understand since I'm still use to Playstation controls and got mixed up with X.

The options for Run are X, B or RT buttons (via double tap).

By Action, are you talking about Examine or Attack?

For Examine, your options are A or X button (under Type D and also works for attack).

If you mean Attack, your options are RB, A (Type B and shared with examine) or X buttons.

But remember, they made it so you don't need to push a button to run anymore. All you do is use the left analog stick.

I'll definitely be buying Borderlands: Remastered since I specifically avoided the Prequel figuring it would come out on Next-Gen in due time. The 4 Player split-screen will be a great addition, but I'll hold off hype until I see how the game performs with all that action going on.
I wonder if 4 player split screen will make a comeback once 4k screens are more mainstream? Seems like a potentially great use of all that resolution.
