Destiny HoW's new currency is called Ehteric Light.

But at least you can upgrade your Mythoclast to 365 now. Yay.

They just removed the need of using Xur to upgrade weapons.

I feel like this game just keeps changing everytime a new DLC comes out.

I could be mistaken, but it seemed in the stream like only the new HOW weapons require Etheric Light to upgrade. Old purples and exotics just take Exotic Shards. So if you've got a few Shards saved up in reserve, once the DLC drops we can start maxing some old stuff right away.

 
I'm waiting for the Destiny patch where they just give you a max level character so you can go raid and then I'll probably boot it up again, look at the menu screen and then play something else.

Sorry, old purples will take Etheric Light. Only exotics will be upgraded via exotic shards. You can definitely still max a lot of stuff right away though. Anyone saving up bounties, public event packages, and marks can even get to level 33 real quick on day one.

I wonder how much more grinding will be required to get this. Also, really, really hoping it's not limited to the new DLC only. I'd like to upgrade my weapons and armour but am not going to be buying the DLC.

They said on the Stream you do not need to have the new DLC to get Etheric Light, it will drop from Nightfalls.

It was confirmed that you won't need the DLC to upgrade your weapons or armor. It will take you much longer though because Etheric Light has a chance to drop for you only in activities like Nightfall or Iron Banner. With DLC, the chances of getting that light is higher when playing the new activities, too (Prison of Elders, etc.).

That's good to hear, and my luck hasn't exactly been great with Nightfalls, so I can see myself getting these materials.

Etheric Light is needed to upgrade any old weapon to the max, like the 300 ones, so not just HoW weapons. Old purples and gold will need the new currency to "ascend". No shards required, just glimmer, material, and EL.

Pretty much what everyone one else said, but looks like they will mainly drop from the endgame activities. My guess is you'll be grinding at least 3 times more without the DLC just to keep up.

Light now goes up to 42 max per item to reach that new level 34 cap. I'm getting suckered into the hype again, and I know it. Hoping that the other stuff they reveal in the coming weeks will be at least somewhat enjoyable.

Prison of Elders looks to be on the same time lockout cycle as the raids/endgame stuff and already seems like you'll have to grind PoE to get rewards that are completely RNG from the Reef vendor.

At least we have new ships.

Yeah. Yet Insomniac is able to add achievements post launch that did not require any new DLC for Sunset Overdrive. That is a smart way to get people to come back and play your game. I am sure it infuriates the completionists though.

Zombie Driver, MCC, and Ryse also added achievements post launch without new content to go with them. I'd probably buy Destiny if they had a steady stream of new achievements trickling out.

Quick heads up: the export offer for Green Day Rock Band will only be available until April 30th. As with previous exports and past DLC take downs, if you have already exported GDRB then you will be unaffected and the songs will remain in your set list.

If you have not exported GDRB in the last 5 years and you would like those songs in your main RB library, you should export as soon as possible. If you're unable to export, or if you're looking for a way to get these songs after April 30th, several Green Day DLC albums, packs, and singles will still be available so you'll still be able to recreate the setlist that way.

Yeah, it is partly their fault for making the initial achievements so general. I've got all of them except for the completing an entire raid without anyone in the party dying.

p.s. I don't think that is the worst part of the DLC :p

 
So with the Green Day Rock Band, are they talking about exporting from the GDRB disc to the Rock Band 3 game you have on your hard drive? Forgive me but I haven't been on Live that long and don't understand the lingo.

Yes, that's what they're talking about (though it will work with a RB3 disc version as well). Be aware you only have until the end of the month to do so before the export is delisted according to Googling.

My 4TB portable is up to 30%, just off games. And we're less than 18 months into this console generation.

Digital game sales are a blessing....and a curse. LoL

I played NeverWinter again last night and the game is way better if you play with friends. Last night me and my friends played it for like 5 hours. When I played it by myself I got bored within 30 Min.
 
Huh can anyone confirm if you also get double credits this month for playing the game with gold titles more than 10 hours? I already got it for AC IV and was wondering if I would get another 1000 for playing army of two?

What I want to know is if the game ever opens up beyond schlepping from point to point in these instanced areas. If it does I never got to that point on PC or XB1 and I don't feel like putting the time into it then when it's supposedly really unbalanced towards cash transactions.

It's alright. The first 10 levels are boring next 10 are meh and gets better at level 30ish. Later in the 50s it takes more skill (not a ton overall).

It really is a dumbed down MMO. Pvp is horribly mismatched between classes. No world pvp.

I'm enjoying the control wizard quite a bit as, if you do it properly, should control all the adds. It makes it a semi challenge.

Bye I came from an EQ background through EQ2. Then WoW (my no life for a year phase), Aeon etc.

Neverwinter is alright at best, but adapted well to xbox one. And since it's the only MMO on xbox one, it fills that niche. Although it is a major money grab because of things like you only get 3 bags (2 through quests) and the rest you have to use real money or spend a week or two to grind out enough in game currency to buy a small one. All mounts over 50% speed are massively overpriced unless you use real money etc

I've played quite a lot solo and have actually been enjoying it a lot, but it probably would be a lot more fun. I've played a lot of MMOs before on PC and am finding Neverwinter extremely enjoyable, the fact that it's f2p and I haven't really had to spend any money yet also helps though.
