i'm on with xbox customer support and they are very adamant that my currency will expire ($47 left for me).  Was told that the currency expiration is actually in 3 1/2 hours as it's GMT time. what

Thanks for the heads up, I was worried about that. I basically don't like my options. I am faced with getting Sunset Overdrive, Killer Instinct, or taking a flyer on pre-ordering Tamriel Unlimited. Am I crazy or could you order Halo 5 at one time?

Sunset Overdrive and Killer Instinct are great options. KI has more replay value though. Been playing that every week since Xbox One launched.
 
having a tough time rolling through different customer service agents.  all are telling me that my currency won't replenish after the expiry period.  good on those of you that were able to receive an answer that their credit will roll over after today, but I would remain slightly weary.

guess i have no choice but to use it today

Yeah, it said one time is free. I don't think I've ever changed it before but I can't remember. The confirmation page says $9.99 though. I just went ahead and did it anyway.
 
I think the free time is if you change it from whatever name is initially assigned to you when you first register for xbox live. If your gamertag means anything at all to you then chances are you've changed it to that.

Not sure if this idea would work, i'm just throwing it out there....You guys with expiring credit could try preordering a digital xbox one game, and then contacting xbox suppot to get it cancelled. I know you can cancel a preorder, so maybe when they refund you, the new credit will be normal xbox currency?

The irony of this particular individual, is the way he actually got all those cards for 5$ was by abusing a coupon mistake that MS made for a specific promotion. His is the most egregious abuse I have heard of so far. The actual $$$ amount he acquired by something almost akin to fraud most likely falls into the criminal. The fact he then waited to only buy highly discounted items with ALLLLL that money really leaves very little room for empathy. If any ones points could be considered promotional, his are clear leaders, and with a bit of luck will trigger an audit at MS headquarters.

 
If anyone has expiring points, I would spend them regardless of what a rep says.

Worst case you buy a game at full price, it's still a lot better than just losing your space bux.
 
I kinda wish I had the same problem a lot of you have. Of course I think I'd have ideas of what I'd buy if I had that kind of money about ready to expire.

I can see why you guys would be angry if it actually does though, because that's a lot of money down the drain. I'd rather buy games at full price than let money go to waste, like MSU_DVM said.

For some people here, I think they'd see more value in bitching about the expired funds than sucking it up and paying full marketplace price (with credit that was probably bought at a discount anyway, so in the grand scheme of things, there was some savings anyway).

Is credit from Bing rewards considered promotional currency with an expiration? I wonder, if people are actually able to get reimbursements, if MS knows what came from converted points and what came from XBL Rewards / Bing, and only reimburse for the converted points.

 
Most people of crazy amount of points were people who cashed in on that GameStop glitch where you could play a cell phone game and then get a five dollar code for GameStop. They then used the code to buy a five dollar ms point card from gamestop. Some of these guys got hundreds and even some got a 1000 or so farming this code all day for about 3 days before the glitch got shut down.

I really don't feel sorry for them. Buy something.
 
I'm not spending my $67 in expiring credit. I have a chat transcript and a reference number where I was told they would give it back. If I didn't have that I would but since I do I feel pretty safe.

There was also that gold rush promotion last summer where GS was just giving out 5$ XBL codes. I got like 400-500 over the four or five weeks they were giving them away. It was all spent well before the end of the year.

 
I don't see why some here care that people don't want to spend account money at the moment. Is it affecting you? I'd buy Halo or Tomb Raider if they were available for preorder but they're not (even though COD BO2 is?). I simply did a quick chat that gave me the ability to get my money back. I don't see a supervisor not honoring that, not sure why people assume Microsoft wouldn't honor what was told with a case number.

That was $5 currency codes, not points or promo credit. It never had an expiration date.

Once you redeemed those cards for magical unicorn farts the GC is used. That's why you can continue to use those cards and the balance then expires one year after being redeemed.

This really, REALLY needed to be an XBLA release. I've had this on my radar for years but the price, no online play, and not being able to play offlinie all kept me waiting for a price drop. I wish it were at least half that amount but $5 is probably the best I'm gonna get with that game.

Does anyone know if there is a way to install a 2TB as internal? Like if you just take apart the casing and put in a new drive would it be recognized as external? I've googled this but couldn't find anything. I'm a bit OCD about this kind of thing and since I'm moving it around a lot, while it's not that big of a deal, I'd prefer it to always be attached.

Unless something changed with the new update, it wasn't possible before. Replacing the HDD in the proprietary cases only would recognize drives if they were already commercially available, so biggest was 500.

 
I hate 343....I log on to download ODST.  I played ONE MM game the first week the game was out due to it never letting me get into a nother match....

Since this is a XBL Marketplace thread, can I ask a quick favor? On the console, not the PC- Games on Demand, Go to the Medal of Honor: Airborne (listed as "MOH Airborne") and check the achievements tab and see if it lists no achievements. I got it during the 4 for $10 at gamestop and the game seems broken.

EDIT: Ok, so apparently the achievement tab doesn't show up unless you have the disk or game installed. In that case, can anyone who does have the game, check?

Yeah I figured as much, just didn't know if anyone had given it a try with the new update, but even looking around the net i hadn't seen anything. i have to imagine there's a way though, maybe I'll try messing with it some time down the line.
