Kind of on topic, kind of not, if you have windows 7 or newer legit, make sure you have latest windows updates to get a notification on your pc to reserve your copy of Windows 10 for free. I hear it's supposed to connect to the one nicely.

I want either a new laptop or a windows tablet just for this reason. I could use my wife's laptop but it's OLD. Iit still has the version of windows that came out before 7. Can't even remember what it's called.

There's some really fun indie games lately but they're criminally short. Mega Coin Squad took me less than an hour to finish it with all crystals. SteamWorld Dig took me less than 2 and a half hours on my first try to beat the game, and I wasn't even rushing. It's harder and harder to justify the prices nowadays with experiences this short. While not amazing in every aspect, I appreciate how Beach Buggy Racing is filled with content, can't really understand why some games (especially the ones with randomly generated content) can't offer a bit more meat.

Mega Coin Squad took me under an hour to beat with the first character. But to be fair, with 6 different characters (and some great chevos to hunt) some players will clock 6ish hours. For the OCD and/or speedrunners, there's even more content. It does seem a bit pricey at $14.99, I will agree. $10 seems a bit better of a price point. And there is an annoying lag issue if you try and restart a game with a new character after beating it in the same session. The game will quickly become unplayable due to lag. So you have to completely exit the game and start something else to clear the Xbox One's memory and then relaunch Mega Coin Squad. At least until the dev patches the memory leak. With that being said, I really enjoyed the game. One of those I was unsure of when I purchased, but it pleasantly surprised me.

That's the point though, both games I mentioned include multiple incentives to finish the game more than once, with optional challenges and characters and whatnot, but the gameplay... the gameplay never changes. You still do the same maps, the same moves, everything's essentially the same. I'd much rather take one 6 hour campaign than having to do the same campaign 6 times, and with such a "low level" design (not to be taken as an offense towards the game but meaning how easy and simple the game's design is), would it have been so hard to include more levels, more block layouts or characters that truly differ? The price is too steep when after 1 hour you are literally repeating the same thing - too bad because the game IS fun.

 
Finished Massive Chalice last night. Excellent game if you like the sort. Wish the combat was a little more complex and would allow you to be in cover like XCom did. Didn't really understand a lot of the bloodline and city building aspects until like midway through so gonna start my Iron game on the hardest setting soon to grab those cheevos.

Yeah, that was the one thing I wanted as well. Once I started getting stealth units regularly it offset it a bit but would probably be nice at higher difficulties.

I really want the swapper, but between shovel knight, rogue legacy and steam world dig, I think I'm set on side scrolling platformers for a couple weeks. It's taking every ounce of self control I have not to buy it right now.
 
I finished Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris last night. Very good game and well worth it if you can get it around $10. I enjoyed the puzzles quite a bit. The music was very good, too, surprisingly so. Don't bother with the season pass though, I still don't know what it added.

You can get Steam keys for all of those games for 25-50 cents each. All depends on if you console kids have upgraded from your dad's 2006 Dell Inspiron laptops.

 
For anyone curious about the AC4 season pass, it takes about 15-30 minutes after purchasing on the 360 for it to show up as free on the One.

Got a little nervous when it was still showing $20

I just want more games like shovel knight. 2D action/adventure I will play until my pulse stops, but I'm really tired of 2D puzzle games.

actually, this site is console majority, and pc minority . console users are basically the top dogs on this site. that is why all / most pc deals are pushed into that one steam thread.

I ran windows 10's preview in a VM, the xbox one integration stuff isn't really around yet, we will need to have W10 running on x1 to experience the integration.

As long as it isn't Windows 8.1 RT, you'll get a popup saying you are eligible for the upgrade.
