So I stayed up and picked up Toy Soldiers because I loved the old ones and I am honestly a bit pissed. I naturally sprung for the Hall of Fame edition or whatever with all the dlc armies and yet every single achievement in the game basically specifies "with the base four armies." SO basically when playing as any DLC army or unlocking stuff for them you are not working towards a single achievement. : /

I know that isn't a huge deal but it is enough to keep me from actually playing all of those until I get the base armies done which by then I will be already moving on to Gears, Mega Man or Phantom Pain... ugh.

Well that kinda sucks. I understand that the original group of achievements for a game would obviously not have anything specific in them to the DLC, and you often get a new set of achievements for the DLC, but letting the DLC apply for generic base achievements is often how they work.

You should post on their forums or contact them in some way to see if they can update the game. That's a lousy point to DLC if it doesn't actually encourage you to play the game, especially when you've paid more for it.

 
I just want to know if you get to play as Duke, Snake Eyes and the rest of the G.I.Joe team with the new Toy Soldiers game's DLC. I could give a crap about He-Man.
 
^ Good to know you can get all of the achievements in the $14.99 version. Bummer that there aren't any achievements with the DLC, though.

I see it both ways though, there would be an uproar if any base-game achievements were locked behind DLC.

Yeah the achievement could just be for AN ARMY or then the other could be a TOTAL of FOUR armies. They could have easily made it work to apply for the DLC armies too but instead specified base game armies for all the achievements. Ugh. The base armies do have more upgrades to unlock so it might have been because of that then since there is less to earn for the DLC ones to max out but that is more their fault for not making it even...

Feels pretty much the same as the previous one so if you liked the old one this should be a welcomed addition. There are microtransactions though which put a bad taste in your mouth I feel like, but it is Ubisoft so it is kind of expected to have crap like that. All you can do it buy coins that you can earn in the game that are used to buy "toyboxes" with addition upgrades for your armies while in the field and stuff.

I will say the Rainbow Bright/ Carebear team (cannot remember what their generic name is for it) is a huge pain in the ass to fight against. All the units in the other armies are all fairly standard sizes and thus easily able to see, these units however are tiny little pixies and shit that are so small it is a pain to see even on a massive Smart TV; half the battles was just making sure I saw them all rather than actually killing them!

Granted I only played for a bit last night before I fell asleep and will play more tonight after work.

Can't hate on the Lego games and Sonic Generations is great - coming from someone who thinks Sonic games in general are "okay".

May be a dumb question but is there still a way to get on the Xbox one backwards compatibility beta? I know you have to be invited. If someone can invite me and send me a PM about it Id greatly appreciate it.
 
Has anyone that got an invite or whatever to the update preview program even been able to get in within the last three months? I Hardly hear anyone say they got in anytime recently or in a long while.

Also I don't know how much invites really matter since I got accepted to the preview thing twice and I never asked for one from anyone.

I mass invited everyone on my list when they announced it at E3 and I believe some people got in then.

Lot of people got in and it is much easier now, since the turn around time is within a week. So if you guys havent been invited, please PM/post your GT. I can pass an invite and so can a lot of helpful folks who frequent this thread.
