So long as you downloaded the trial on Saturday you have 24 in game time hours to play it. At least 2-3 hours will be suffering through Flappy Goat, and then a few more hours doing drywall patching, collecting the broken controller pieces and apologizing to neighbors for the profane outbursts you exposed their children to.

DLC is ok when its done right. The Witcher 3 is going to give us two huge expansions for $25, and a ton of free cosmetic DLC. Borderlands 2 had incredible support for a year or so after the original came out (Tiny Tinas Assault, Pirates Booty, Torgues Campaign, etc). Dragon Age gave us The Awakening expansion pack which was amazing. The difference between these examples and Destiny, is that you get a satisfying beginning, middle, and end to the storylines in those base, vanilla games. The extra stuff was just there to continue the existing story and it really feels like "add on" content. In Destiny's case, its apparent that vital parts of the original game itself were dumbed down and/or stripped out for the sole purpose of extra profits.

On a side note, the Arkham Knight season pass is a goddamn joke and has soured me on anything Rocksteady offers in the future.

Didn't the burned Infinity Ward team even warn them about this? I feel like the acquisition of Bungie was around the same time as their blowup with Activision.

Positive side, I wonder if Marty would have any chance of returning to the Halo franchise. Maybe even working with the man currently doing it.

In fairness to them though, the DLC from their previous games has always been disappointing. Only Cold, Cold Heart was decent, and that was from WB Montreal's game (who did the Batgirl DLC for Knight). I'm not as bitter since I got it free, but it definitely wasn't worth $40 (over half the price of the game).

I'm sure if you dig deep enough you'd find that Arkham Knight was rushed, re-written, and had greater ambitions than the final result. It's the mammoth downside to these franchises. The bigger they get the more restrictive they become.

I didn't see it mentioned here, but it seems that Rise of the Tomb Raider will not have a multiplayer, so if you hated it in the last game you won't have to worry about it. I liked it, and hoped they would do more work with it to refine it, but I guess this saves them much more money and criticism.

I think the season pass comes with content for the multiplayer. If you have no interest in the multiplayer it's not worth buying the season pass.

If you do decide to buy the season pass, make sure to buy it for the 360, since it's cross buy for both (but only if you buy the 360 one).

Yeah the Bungie stuff is true. I read another article on another site a few days back. Just further proof Bungie is just a shell of their former selves and sold their souls to the devil with Hacktivision. Also further proof of how shitty a company Hacktivision is.
 
I went ahead and bought Freedom's Cry for X1 this week. I love that freaking game so much, but don't play the MP, so the SP was useless to me. I'm gonna play through it in the next couple of weeks.

 
Freedom Cry worth it. Season pass no. FC is a smaller version of the main game with a different character. You can experience most of what the main game has to offer without hours of tutorials.

Do you only have the DLC on disk and not tied to your XBL account? I think everyone is being given access to all 4 DLCs regardless of what they own because I have the vanilla version of the game and only own two of the DLCs through XBL but I have access to all for in the BC version of the game.

I loved the first person fights in shattered dimensions. It was cool fighting as Spidey in first person. How cool would it be to web swing around New York in first person like mirrors edge.

In fact they were making an avengers game from the first movie that was in first person but got scrapped. I hope they do one like that it would be cool. That would be fun. Kinda like skrim. I'll see if I can find a link.

OMG... I just want to finish Dragon Age Inquisition. How long is this freaking game?!? The only thing stopping me from The Witcher 3 is that I get bored about 30 hours into a game. :)

I know that feeling. The story, characters were all great. I wanted to 100% that game and the last 30-40 hours were a complete drag. I literally had to push myself to finish the game.

Witcher 3 has an amazing story and cast of characters as well. However all the side quests/main quests felt very involved so far and I haven't gotten bored 60+ hours in. Then again I haven't done every sunken treasure/bandit camp etc. so I can see it being a bit repetitive after awhile.

I am however very excited for the DLC since it expands upon the ending to DA:I.

Not exactly. It turns out that if you have any version of Borderpost 1 you get the DLC included in the BC download.

They packaged it in with the BC image, regardless of what you actually own.

I have it from the disc only. I have never bought it from the XBL Marketplace.

Cool if they are giving it to everybody, though.

 
Nothing at all for me. You can get Evolve for $12 from Gamefly and I just wanted the Hardline premium pass to go on sale. Eh.
