I had pretty much the same experience the first night I played The Deer God. No clue what was going on. I kept repeatedly dying what felt like cheap deaths. So I quit playing. I gave it a chance the next night and started warming up to it. It reminds me a lot of old Atari/NES games. Where they just threw you into the game with not a lot of knowledge of what to do or what's going on. It seems really hard to begin with with no powers and trying to keep your hunger/health levels up while "growing up" and figuring out puzzles. I ran into the King Toad boss right out of the gate with no powers or items so I couldn't kill him. I windup finishing the game last night. I believe I unlocked all of the achievements except the 4 reportedly glitched ones. I will revisit the game if they fix those. For most people The Deer God will be a poor choice for GWG but I windup enjoying it. It brought me back to the days when I first started gaming on Atari/NES.
 
What's funny is I grew up in those types of games. I just don't find them fun anymore. I guess as I've got older my gaming tastes have changed. I'm also the guy who couldn't pass the first level off battltoads on rare replay so there is that. I did finally beat it but...yeah. Not my cup of tea. I keep telling my self to get the mega man collection than I remember I don't really like that type of game anymore.

 
Say what you will about indie games, I just don't understand why they rarely go on sale. There are countless indie games on :xb1: - but week after week Larry and Bloomy put the same games on sale.

Seriously though, it's not a game for everyone and even for those that do like it, it's certainly not without its problems. To say it's not a fun game is purely subjective.

Just a love it or hate it kind of game.

My PS3 is having problems reading discs so I can buy Ass Creed digital and play the Ass Creed 2 I got for free from GwG. 

And there's the Battlefield 4 DLC I asked for.

Do the remastered versions have all the DLC for Last Light?  Considering the SP for the free 360 version but I could be talked into buying the remasters when they get to $10 if they have all the DLC.

 
I'm actually pretty happy about AC Brotherhood and Revelations going on sale for $4.99 each. I was resigned to the idea that I was just gonna have to buy them at $9.99 when they usually go on sale, but my patience has paid off! Now I'm debating whether I wanna grab 3 while it's still on sale tonight or wait it out some more. Hm.

The whole point of Bungie leaving Microsoft was so they could be independent again. Bungie's partnership with Activision is just for publishing, marketing and distribution. Activision owns no part of Bungie and really can't make them do anything aside from what their publishing contract entails.

If the Bungie board of directors allowed themselves to be influenced by Activision to fire one of their most important and longest running staff membera then I'm happy that he sued them and managed to get shares in the company. I hope Jason Jones is uncomfortable and I hope Marty gets in his way.

Bungie is in an entirely different position than Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward is owned by Activion, Bungie isn't. Bungie shouldn't be under any constraints from Activision. Hell, their publishing agreement with Activision is only for three or four Destiny titles in the span of like ten years if I recall correctly. If they for some reason didn't like how Activision were treating them they could make their Destiny games small scale projects on the side while putting serious work into something else wirh a different publisher. With their pedigree they could get any publisher.

This is just Bungie turned into, I don't think it's on Activision at all, actually.

Can anyone help me make up my mind about AC 3 while it's still on sale? I'm definitely gonna grab Brotherhood and Revelations, but I'm not sure I have seen 3 below $10 before on demand.

iirc 3 has never gone below $10. I'm waiting for it to hit $5. (disc is $5 at GS also)

 
just picked up a xbox controller with the 3.5mm built it, my current one was beat up so I wanted to trade, though I find it's still better to use the headset adapter for the volume control, not sure how it even works with out the volume control

Play what you have and then grab AC3 if you still want more AC. It has one of the slowest, most drawn out intros that I've ever seen in a game because they somehow got it in their heads that hours of set-up was the right way to go. It's a marathon just to get to the actual game that you paid for.

I got it from a MS sale a while back and tried to get into it but the intro was so mind-numbingly boring and long I just stopped playing and never tried it again. My buddy kept telling me to play through it and that later it gets so much better but my response to that is.. I have plenty of games in my backlog that I do not have to EARN the right to play the fun parts I just can when starting the game up; pass.
