Yes, but we were discussing the car packs not included in the car passes and not the base games, but thanks for the heads up anyway. Question about it though: is that for the true FM4 or is it just the "essentials" version of FM4 which is only one disc and is missing half the cars included in the standard game?

Thanks for the heads up! For achievement hunters, achievements affected by features being removed, mainly treasure trove and the marketplace, will receive secondary methods of unlocking. This game will get massively easier as achievements which require tons of downloads and votes are also getting secondary methods of unlocking as are several bugged achievements. Let's just hope the secondary methods aren't bugged, too. This game will have a massive drop on TA. Despite not playing it much, it's my highest scoring game on TA. From their site:

These changes directly impact some of our current achievements. If you already have these achievements, you don’t have to worry about a thing! You still have your Gamerscore and you won’t need to do anything else. For users who haven’t unlocked these achievements, we’re introducing new alternative methods to unlock them. What are these? It's a cool concept, but they had super overly high expectations. Just look at the achievements and the numbers of downloads or positive ratings some required and how few people unlocked them.

Same here. I waited because I received a code for a different pack a little while back and the premium didn't stack, but things have changed now.

Also, premium and tokens going away, but it sounds like if you have premium you will receive 2X XP for the duration of your premium. Since tokens are disappearing, I plan on using the ones I earned in the treasure trove on as much premium as I can get.

All this LEGO talk made go look up my played LEGO games and somehow I missed playing Harry Potter Years 5-7.  Most likely because 1-4 glitched on me after about 30 hours and locked me out of the full 1000 so I was done with it.   Anyway, I check to see the price used at GS and it is $20 still which is too rich for me.  Now I hope it gets a sale at some point.

Pretty sure years 5-7 was $5 not too long ago, within the last six months maybe so I'm sure it will drop again.

Just saw that Creature from the Black Lagoon is in The Pinball Arcade season 1, but I'd have to buy the base game on 360 as well.  And several tables are already on the Williams collection which I already have. Not worth it.

 
Ok this maybe totally obvious but on the front page it will often mention "Early Adopter Deals" is this just a day one discount on certain games? Or is it a deal available only to people who got their Xbox Ones by a certain date? Any info would be appreciated.
 
Remember a couple weeks ago when I posted about some FM4 content going on sale on an unusual day and that it should be snatched up in case it was a precursor to delisting as had happened in the past? (although FM3 put all DLC on sale and steeper discounts, too)  Well, ALL FM4 DLC has been removed and although Forza's twitter states they are looking into the problem, Forzamotorsport.net's moderator Mechberg states:

Forza Motorsport 4 DLC content has officially reached "end of life" status. This means that this content is no longer available for purchase. However, if you are an FM4 player who has already purchased this content, you will be able to re-download it.

I love Forza, but damn they just don't give a damn.  A heads up would have garnered more sales, especially on the Porsche Pack which had achievements.  I only needed a few of the last DLC packs not included in the car pass.  They were only on sale ONE time in a ONE DAY SALE before I bought the game.  It was right after the last DLC came out.   I'm still fairly involved with FM4 and it sux when friends paint cars I don't have (it's impossible to see in-game which cars are DLC once yo own them so painters don't know) and I can't buy in the AH or SF.

It's early adopters of the games themselves, not of the system. YMMV for how long the discount lasts. Some last a week, some of the current ones are pushing 2 weeks. I need to clean up that section, since some of the discounts are no longer live, but want to track down when the discounts ended.

 
Kinda disappointed with the sales this week. I think the only thing I'm looking at is the Skate series.

Which I imagine is on sale as a fuck you to Activision/Tony Hawk.

Really cool of them to refund people as well. Was not expecting that.

Also, this. They should have put EVERYTHING on sale, and/or given a heads-up. If everything was on sale or they put everything at something insane like 80% off, I'd have thought more of the sale. But they were really crappy about the discounts while the DLC was still around anyways, so I guess it's unsurprising. I always kind of thought 4 had the worst DLC of the games so far (besides maybe 5?) as well.

I love Forza, but damn they just don't give a damn. A heads up would have garnered more sales, especially on the Porsche Pack which had achievements. I only needed a few of the last DLC packs not included in the car pass. They were only on sale ONE time in a ONE DAY SALE before I bought the game. It was right after the last DLC came out. Wait, wait. I have the season pass but never downloaded all the cars as I didn't have room. Do I get access to them still or did I just waste my money?
 
So new players like me that didn't own FM4 can't complete the forza rewards score :(

Nothing for me this week and decided to skip Crysis 3 DLC since I'm not interested in the game.

Small OT: do Amazon instantly send codes for digital X1 games that aren't released yet? I was interested in Halo 5 if I can get the code early and preload the 46 GB

 
Grabbed Devil May Cry HD Collection and Devil May Cry 4 on 360 just now. Not particularly enthused about this week's sales since the Batman games are way cheaper on PSN this week and could give a damn about Skate. Can anyone recommend the Deadliest Warrior games?
 
I just realized that Devil May Cry 4 SP edition sale is over! Oh well! On the other hand, perhaps it will be on sale in December for Xbox 12 days of Christmas sale

Yeah, there is a ton on sale including Skate DLC which may have never been on sale before and a few good prices like Shadow of Mordor, but a lot of the games have been cheaper before like the Lego games.

As for FM4, it really sux they did that for a third time. This time the sale wasn't all inclusive and the discounts weren't as drastic as with FM3 (I think the discounts matched a recent sale) so I didn't really think it was happening again. It just seemed like maybe it was since they dropped on an off day and knowing FM's past.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you might be hosed. There is a small thread on forza's forums where someone else noticed this issue since the removal:

I'm sure many other people are in the same boat. I'd watch that thread and if it's worth your time I'd call/email/tweet MS about it. You bought DLC that isn't available to redeem. Maybe you can at least get a refund from them.

Even in the in game marketplace it's as if the car packs never existed. Only the launch pack and the vip pack remain. I already own them, so I don't know what happens if someone tries to buy them in game. Launch pack may have been free, but other free packs are gone. If you look for a DLC car you don't own, it just isn't in the car shop. For example, I looked up the GMC Vandura and it just wasn't under GMC and Hennessy isn't even listed in the manufacturers since I didn't have the pack with the Hennessy Venom (really wanted that one) and it was the only Hennessy in the game.

Yes, you can't even buy tokens which has a category for rewards. Also, if you haven't filled up the DLC bought column then you can't do that one anymore as well because the only way to get most of the DLC was digitally. I believe that there was a "Racing GOTY" that included a pack, maybe two. There were like 21 cars. I think it was the free Viper pack and a paid pack. FYI, after FM3 received similar treatment the codes in the Ultimate version of the game did not work.

About 1,000 people playing Crysis 3 last night. I was surprised.

I guess it's down to the licensing agreements with the car manufacturers. Another reminder to be careful with DLC when licenses are involved.

You're right though, it's baffling that they wouldn't at least warn people if only to squeeze out a few more sales. Unless they didn't know in advance.

 
Anyone else think the prices suck for this sale on the 360 side? How do we not have a single game on sale for $5, especially considering that a good majority of the games have been $5 on previous sales anyway? Oh well. Nothing for me. Can't remember the last time i bought anything at this point.

I'm a fan of Back to the Future. I played a little bit of it. I got it from a previous Humble Bundle. It's pretty fun. I never played through it. I was also hoping it would come to Xbox. I'm going to get it when it comes out.

I wonder how much credit. I tried to like Project Spark, but found it cumbersome, boring and choppy. Performance is crap.

Hitman now officially launches on 3/11. Here is a large infographic explaining how to buy it. (The beta will NOT come to :xb1:.)

(I love Hitman, but why not just release it in June when all of the game content is done?)

Do you have Gold? Someone compiled a list of the 360 games on sale a few pages ago but the prices are lower with Gold. Injustice and Mortal Kombat are $6.59, Shadows of Mordor is $9.99. I think those are the lowest Injustice and Mordor have been. I'm thinking of picking them up. Pretty good sale overall.
 
The thing about that pricing for Hitman is why not just make both $30?  Why play that mind game where they try to make you think you are missing out on the "deal" by not purchasing the entire game. I realize it is just $5 but to me that is what makes it all the more stupid.

So they get $60 instead of $30 from anxious buyers that can't stand to miss a deal even on a game they're on the fence about, as well as $5 extra from people that wanted to try it but have never heard of demos or let's play vids. Sounds like a great marketing strategy to me.

Edit: Just a follow up to this point though.  WHy introduce a new pricing strategy if you are going to penalize people for trying it out?  Hey you want to try half the game first? Well then you are going to pay more down the line to get the full game.  Why can't the gaming industry be straight with its consumers? It is ridiculous.

Still a better pricing scheme than Destiny. I would rather they give me the option of paying for content that hasn't released than forcing me to do so if I want to play the stuff that has been released. The $5 difference is silly, but it's the same as bulk/bundle pricing that exists at most retailers.
